It's been abundantly clear for quite some time that the only thing Democrats need to do in order to win the 2020 election is to nominate a better candidate than Donald J. Trump. With two contests concluded so far, it's not at all clear Democrats will be able to do so. The early presumed front-runner has turned into a vicious attack dog who can't stop attacking even his own supporters should they deign to ask a question he doesn't want to answer. As that candidate has fallen to the wayside, it has paved the way for the openly socialist candidate to now be the front-runner, while numerous so-called "moderate" candidates split the vote among themselves.
In another week and a few days the voters of Nevada will have a chance to pick the nominee. The next week, voters in South Carolina will get their shot at picking a replacement for Donald J. Trump.
Curiously coincident with these nominating contests getting underway, Trump's approval rating has reached the highest of his presidency. Good luck to Democrats. Remember, what is needed is a smooth-talking candidate who never insults anyone the way Trump does and a person who knows what the president needs to do and is willing to take the heat for getting the job done.
Will it be Bernie, Pete, Amy ... or someone else?
