Yes he was canonized last year. The article quoted a forensics expert saying the decomposition was not surprising given the damp soil.
Oh okay. The Wikipedia article also said that someone else suggested the bones shouldn't have actually disappeared that quickly or the handles should have been gone, too. But I don't think that's accurate. Metal lasts much longer in damp soil than bones will or we'd find tons of bones when digging, yet we only find a few perhaps.
I long for a time when close friendship between men is no longer made out to be something improper. It's really ridiculous and suffocating. Friendship between men can be a powerful tool for good, so it doesn't surprise me that satan is actively trying to stop it from happening or make it seem awkward or forbidden.
