Justin Bieber had a tattoo that said: Son of God. There is some sort of connection between his heavy drug use, depression & God helping him to deal with that.

I wonder though. Are these the three people we would choose to give a testimony for God?

"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." (1Cor1:27)

Man choose Trump ,not God.
God choose Trump when Trump got saved and became a Christian. All three of them recognize their need for God and their inability to be able to life apart from God. Even if they are not as perfect as we would like them to be. God still has compassion and mercy for them to help them in their time of need.

Well, sometimes the weak things of the world are just plain weak.
Our strength is of God, not of self. Bieber said on instagram: “God is pulling me through a hard season. Having trust in Jesus at your worst times is the absolute hardest.”

Such an inspirational quote hardly justifies following Bieber on Instagram.
I do not follow him. I just did a little research and that came up in a magazine article. A lot of music people died from drug overdose in the 70's. I saw the Doors live in concert a few years before Jim Morrison died. I think the issue has to do with the example that we set for others. We are told that Jesus lived His life as an example for us to follow.

I’ve thinking a bit lately about how desperate so many evangelicals seem to be to find validation in celebrities converting to Christianity. The phenomenon goes back decades, but the guys in the OP are merely some of the latest examples.

I have seen that. A church will bring in some sort of a pro wrestler or something and everyone get so excited that he is a christian. Never questioning that a real christian would not be involved in pro wrestling. With Justin Bieber I was interested in his testimony that God help him with his depression and with his drug problems. Even he suggested that he may not be alive if God had not intervened.

Basically, I take it as a positive thing whenever ANYONE finds Christ, so of course when Justin Bieber and Kanye West come to the Lord, they are included.

This is to answer the question in the narrowest sense, however. I would not say the same IF asked about someone who proclaimed his acceptance of Christ but 1) did not then show any evidence of having made a life change OR 2) then began preaching a bunch of false doctrines in addition.
