Nothing.

Everyone since Genesis 3:7 has been born in a state of condemnation simply because they have not believed in God's resurrected Son.

John 3:18
"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

Besides, the better question is not "What must I do to get sent to hell?" but "What must I do to be saved from sin, and the wrath of the one who can destroy body and soul in hell?"

God told me at least 12 if not 15 times that He is a God of absolute & perfect Justice. People think that He is unjust to allow people to go to Hell but it is just the opposite. People get exactly, precisely what they deserve. We can see this in how fine tuned the universe is. Even the law of attraction people understand how precise the universe is. We can ask our machinist friends how accurate we need to be when they work with in a tolerance of a millionth. Most of this has to do with temperature and climate control. Once you get a machine up and running they have always been pretty consistent.

A fingerprint is 50 millionths thick, enough to cause problems when fitting spindle bearings.
A Sunnen Hone is guaranteed to hold 50 millionths.
A Romicron boring head will hold 80 millionths
A Crystal Lake Grinder can be special ordered with 5 millionths run out on its work head.
A Monarch 10EE was factory tested to hold 30 millionths on a 2" length.
Gage Blocks can be calibrated to about 2 millionths.
The crystal lake grinder is nothing short of amazing, 5 millionths, WOW! How did they do that?

I think it is not really about what you do, but about what you are. You must be righteous to have eternal life. And if you are righteous, you do righteous works also. Actions are only like fruits that tell is the tree good or bad.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Not loving those you were able to love. And not helping them. "Whatever you did to the least of these..."

Adultery. Murder. Impurity. Hatred. Unforgiveness. Pride. Sexual immorality. Theft. Refusing Christ.

I have heard from the Saints that pride, arrogance, self-righteousness, looking down on others, however you want to phrase it, is among the worst, stickiest, toughest sin to work through. Because it is so hard to see within ourselves.

I guess in a nutshell it is about loving God vs. Loving yourself and / or the World. But I don't think there is an exact list or formulas other than bible verses about the works of the flesh, the fruit of the Spirit etc.


I think there is also some aspect of humility etc. based on the "Not everyone who say's Lord, Lord..." verse. It is easy to approach Christianity from the stand point of it being an idealogy (one that saves you), or a magic formula, or maybe just narcistically believing that you have it made based on your pedigree like the antagonistic faction of the Pharisees that persecuted Christ and the apostles.


I have a love / hate relationship with many aspects of popular Christianity, but especially the slogan of "Christianity is not religion, but relationship" (On the hate side, religion is not innately evil and according to epistle of James Christianity is called a religion in one verse, and if you actually look at definitions etc. of what a religion is based on the Latin root words). But there some aspects of truth to that. The term worship is suppose to be derived from the word "worth", and the idea that our "gods" are the things that take up much our time, energy, priorities etc. can be found in a number of NT passages.

Besides all this, I do believe in the idea that there should be some kind of transformation of the believer for things to be really real, on the order of Cristifocation, theosis etc. I really believe the "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord..." passage and other similar ones like at the end of Revelation (Christ, separating the sheep from the goats) does touch on that. IF we truly know God, we are changed by that association. (The people who are turned away from Christ are those who are trying to approach God from a more formulaic, or reductionist manner etc.)

Things That "You Must Not Do" So As Not To Be Condemned:

Do not refuse to believe in the name of the Son of God:

"...he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18).​

Do not say, "You fool" to your brother.

“...whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”
(Matthew 5:22).​

Do not look upon a woman in lust:

28 “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.” (Matthew 5:28-30).​

Do not commit adultery:

“But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.” (Proverbs 6:32).​

Do not refuse to forgive others:

“But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:15).​

Do not hate your brother:

"Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." (1 John 3:15).​

"He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now." (1 John 2:9).

"In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil..., neither he that loveth not his brother." (1 John 3:10).​

Do not speak bad words:
(like curse words, slander, etc.):

“For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” (Matthew 12:37).​

Do not fear [carnal things or nothing but God], do not have a lack of faith, do not murder, do not be a whoremonger, do not be a sorcerer, do not be an idolator, do not be a liar:

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8).​

Do not commit fornication, do not hate others, do not envy, do not be drunk, etc.:

19 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:19-21).​

Do not be unaffectionate [unloving], do not covet, etc.:

5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them." (Colossians 3:5-7).​

Do not steal, do not revile others, do not cheat others, etc.:

9 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. “ (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).​

Do not teach contrary to, or refuse to agree with the words of Jesus Christ, and the doctrine according to godliness:

3 "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing,..." (1 Timothy 6:3-4). (Note: This ties in with James 4:6 that says,
"...God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.").


Things You Must Do As A Part of Eternal Life:

Believe in Jesus:

"And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ,..." (1 John 3:23).​

Repent:
(i.e. Seek forgiveness with the Lord).
(Note: This leads to the fruit worthy of repentance).

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13).

"Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent," (Acts of the Apostles 17:30).​

"I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3).​

Do good works:

"You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone." (James 2:24) (Why do we need good works? "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." -James 2:17. "And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." - Matthew 25:30).

"They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." (Titus 1:16).

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21). Important Note: If you were to look at 1 Thessalonians 4:3 you would learn that the will of God (i.e. the Father) is to be holy or it is our sanctification; And Hebrews 12:14 says, without holiness no man shall see the Lord.

“26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
(Matthew 7:26-27).​

Spread the gospel seed:

"And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62).​

Deny yourself, pick-up your cross, and follow Jesus:

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." (Luke 9:62).​

Keep the commandments:

Like, love your neighbor:

"...if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." (Matthew 19:17-19) (Important Note: We must walk in the light. 1 John 1:7 says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."; To love one's brother is to "walk in the light;' See: 1 John 2:9-11).​

Like, love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.

"And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live." (Luke 10:25-28).​

Follow peace with all men, and holiness:

"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:" (Hebrews 12:14).​

Help the poor, and the unfortunate:

"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." (Matthew 25:41-46).

Take it with a grain of salt. When I was like 13y or so ( I am 58 now) I was really thinking about hell and asked.. how can you send all these people to hell? He came back with "for God so loved the world. Everyone gets a choice". We make that choice. I personally believe no one is lost by chance. Meaning they never knew. For Christ said "if you were blind you would have no sin. You say you see your sin remains". I believe millions of millions past to now are blind.

Whats the truth? My version? Yours? What GROUP is right? So if your not strong in the faith its easy to get lost. He knows this. Satan has no chance. He KNEW God the Father in all His glory and power and made a choice. We never got that chance. All we know is sin 1st then God its.. through this awful looking glass we can't even see through. Again He knows this. It is as I see it so easy to be saved then lost.

His word is true amen. Christ is the only way to the Father. I say "blind you would have no sin" and you might wonder.. HOW in the world can any one today say they never heard? A true story back in the year 2000 a Jewish man born lived in NY NEVER once heard Jesus was lord. He was telling his story how Christ found him. Living in the USA in NY none the less. Never heard.

So.. really makes me wonder.. about those people I see cross my path where I say NOTHING.. I might be the only JESUS they ever see.. IF Christ was ONLY relying on man. But He is not praise GOD glory to Jesus!

When I say Hell.. I always try to say "Father forgive me" before I talk about it. Well I have two kids.. how would .. if I had to take one that came from my wife and me and toss him in the fire. God sends no one there.. but they are HIS creation. Do we feel? How much MORE does He? So I take HELL and always say Father forgive me. Because I truly don't know about Him. So I take it and walk very softly humbly before Him when EVER I talk about it. We talk about those that there is no MORE way out..its over. They know it. they made that choice.. Yet some talk about hell as if.. its nothing.. God forbid ANY are lost

It is a completely natural and healthy procedure.
If you reject God, then He does not force you to endure Him.
If you refuse to believe that God exists, and you have no respect for Him
then to subject you to Him would drive you insane.

So Hell is very healthy and natural for the unbeliever. They get no forgiveness.
And they have to stew on that.

You are on a Christian site, asking Christian's what are some of the things that one can do to get sent to hell?
The word Christian is derived from Christ, thus, everyone knows that accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour is the only way to avoid hell. That is, there is only one answer to your question, and that answer is blatantly obvious and unequivocal, i.e. rejecting Christ.
So, I'm not sure where you are going with this, ...unless, of course, you think that my understanding of salvation is wrong, and therefore, you believe that there are various alternative methodologies to either get into heaven, or end up in hell?
...I'm actually surprised at some of the responses here, many seem to be verging on, or alluding to, works?

The word Christian is derived from Christ, thus, everyone knows that accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour is the only way to avoid hell. That is, there is only one answer to your question, and that answer is blatantly obvious and unequivocal, i.e. rejecting Christ.
So, I'm not sure where you are going with this, ...unless, of course, you think that my understanding of salvation is wrong, and therefore, you believe that there are various alternative methodologies to either get into heaven, or end up in hell?
...I'm actually surprised at some of the responses here, many seem to be verging on, or alluding to, works?

Mat 25:44 - “Then they also will answer Him,[fn] saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’

Mat 25:45 - “Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’

Mat 25:46 - “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

In the end:

Jas 2:24 - You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
