Hi Lily76,

Every person on the planet has a sinful nature. Even born-again believers. So what you have experienced is the manifestation of someone indulging their sinful nature by getting drunk and then lashing out as a result.

As unfortunate as it is, undeserved suffering is a very real part of life, for believers and non-believers alike. It is never easy to undergo, and can be excruciatingly painful at times, to say the least. Because of this, it can be very difficult to understand why God allows suffering.

Undeserved suffering can ultimately be traced all the way back to Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden. When sin entered God’s perfect universe through Adam, things like sickness, disease, violence, evil, decay, bondage, corruption, natural disasters, and physical death also entered in, with sin being perpetuated by mankind ever since. As a result, undeserved suffering has been experienced by all, both directly and indirectly.

Here are some Scriptures to encourage you:

  • Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NASB)

  • For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 5b-6 (NKJV)

  • Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7 (NASB)

  • These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (NASB)

  • The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry. Psalm 34:15 (NASB)

We do not know why God allows these things happens to people. But God can turn bad into good. Not exactly comforting but it seems that is the way it is. :( can you give more details to what happened to you? Did she say why she attacked you? Was there a disagreement?

We live in the flesh and are subject to all things that may come our way. If your incident causes you to question your God Jesus Christ of Nazareth then you have your answer as to why He allowed the attack. He is testing your faith. We must endure to the end just as those who endured beheadings, burnings, animal attacks, etc etc. I hope you come to understand and one day have a true saving faith where you would never question Gods will. I will pray for you. :prayer:
Be blessed.

I've been around abusive people and child molestors. I prayed for God to get us away from my stepfather. God delivered us! That doesn't mean God delivered us before I knew what to ask in prayer. Bad experiences teach us to be careful and teach us how to help others. True Christians care about each other!

I noted that this happened in the UK, so I don't know what security surveillance cameras might have been present at the location, nor do I know what policy there might be in place that would give you some official recourse to what you endured.
But yes, I would get in touch with someone who was either hosting the meeting, or someone who owned the building where the meeting was hosted, and let them know what happened.

This time it happened to you, but the next time it might be someone else who has to go through this. The owner of the building and the group that hosted needs to know that an unsafe condition exists of which they might be unaware.
They need to know so that:
1. NO ONE else needs to suffer as you have.
2. They need to know because the next time they could be sued for harboring such conditions go on uncorrected that enable harmful encounters to happen to innocent people.

Right now you might be feeling like a victim, but taking action to see that it doesn't happen to someone else will put you back in the Driver's seat, instead of being the helpless victim.

May God go with you.:crossrc:

I always find it odd how we can move right along in life believing in God and (unless we live under a rock) knowing that there's war and poverty and disease and plane crashes and so on without it causing us to question our faith, but...something bad happens to us and then, well, we're going to shake our fist and question whether there even is a God!

Easy answer. Sin. Bad things happen because its an evil world and sin exists. So God doesn't let it happen, sin lets it happen. Just got to realize God has a plan when these things happen. He may not have caused it, but He will try to help you change because of it.

For example, you may see others go through what you did and you will have empathy for what happened to them. Which may be a doorway to talk about God to them and lead them to salvation. You can tell them you overcame what happened to you by trusting in the Lord.

The bible says:

1Pe 3:14 But even if ye should suffer for righteousness' sake, blessed are ye: and fear not their fear, neither be troubled;

God understands that we do not enjoy suffering, there is a general rule in scripture that he gives us greater reward in heaven when we suffer loss, and are willing to take it patiently. When Steven, was stoned to death for his faith, he said "do not hold this sin against them". We see that the apostles, and the LORD Jesus forgave their oppressors. It is an example for us of how we should act when harmed. It may not be easy in the state of loss that you feel, but try to forgive the attacker, and your reward will be great. Don't allow the injustice to pull you low, rise above the offence.

How else are we going to learn?

From your OP, there are several issues you are having trouble with.
1. being attacked.
2. drunk women.
3. being touched.
4. not dealing with it, i.e., with things not going your way.
5. relying on God to do what you are capable of doing.

You should ask us to pray against such attacks instead of accusing God for it. We live in a wicked world with wicked people, doing evil stuff. God loves everyone and He gives people time to change from their evil ways. Unfortunately, we have to live with these people and tolerate them because we were once sinners too and are benefiting from his mercy. This is why we can't totally wipe evil away, we just pray that God protects us and changes the lives of sinners for good.

it was a sexual assault
some of you sound like your suggesting it was my fault
i think i'll go somewhere else for advice people who will not want details about something that is traumatic
Maybe you should then. You ask advice and then you get upset about it. Maybe you should seek professional help instead of asking strangers on the internet. People here tried to help. You just did not like it. Sorry.
