I did not watch it last year.

Lots of ladies got all hot n bothered about Adam Levine running around with his shirt off.

I didn't. How is this relevant.

The point I'm making is that these good, Christian men are pretty good at doing what they're told (typically by media personalities). In the case of the protests, that was hating on the players for kneeling. If you can get Hannity, Breitbart, and maybe a Franklin Graham or Tony Perkins to attack the NFL for objectifying women, then maybe you can get a bunch of support among this same demographic.

But if christian men would take a stand, that is a majority of the men in this country, could it help?
No, because Christian men like eye candy, just like Christian women like eye candy. Also many fans of football aren't Christian. A few Christians wouldn't watch it. For short time. Like you said ,if you don't approve of the half time, then turn off , like you did. I though half time was fine. If it wasn't for Jenifer Lopez, I wouldn't have watch, since I don't watch football.

I see no difference in women like Shakira and Jlo using their natural talents and bodies to attract people to the show and generate wealth for themselves and entertainment for their fans and the two teams of football players using their natural talents and bodies to attract viewers to the show, generate wealth for themselves/teams/owners and put on a show for everyone to enjoy.

It's the same thing. The double standard is your own.
Not the same thing.

Athletic or artistic achievement is in a totally different category from raw sex appeal.

Unfortunately the feminists shut that down. It's somewhat ironic, but they insist that women should be free to show off their bodies as they feel, and any restriction on that is a restriction on women's rights and freedoms.
Youre mushing together 2 really different things:

1. the freedom of an individual to decorate and display her body as she pleases.

2. the commercial use of female body imagery.

Christian men (and women) are despised. We are killjoys. The scripture says we are hated for 3
Christians aren't despised. They just need to live their lives, the way they see fit. And stop trying to force their moral laws on everyone.

Lucky for these ladies, they can also sing, dance, act, play instruments and perform live concerts. I suppose they could try to book someone more like Yo Yo Ma to do the half-time show if we’re trying to avoid sexual imagery of any kind and anyone’s possible definition of it and just going for pure, musical talent. Then people like me who don’t care for football would have absolutely no reason to watch anything on Super Bowl Sunday.

For sure they are very talented. And I'm not even saying all the sexiness is wrong..... just that watching for sex appeal and watching for achievement are 2 different moral categories requiring different justifications.

No, it is not the same thing. While both are using their bodies in rather athletic ways, only the women are sexualized and objectified. The men are praised for their strength and speed. Totally different outcomes.

Everybody is trying to inflect their beliefs into the world. Else they do not really believe them. It is usually just theists who get tapped for this. Take climate change believers. There is no hesitation on their part to push their agenda on everyone else. Also the so-called trans gender religion. Here we have a flat earth religion that is in fact forcing their religion on the rest of us.
So yes...

It is not about ignoring sexual attraction. It is about a healthy sexual attraction.

Study this most misunderstood scripture and all will come clear.

"Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also."

It will also require a study of women's 'anatomy'.
I'll pass.

Shortly after Shakira and Jennifer Lopez were announced in September, Twisted Sister front man and radio show host Dee Snider took to Twitter.

As Snider noted, NFL stadiums all over the nation use various rock and metal songs to get the crowds going during the actual games, and so he found it frustrating that the Super Bowl halftime show so rarely included actual rock musicians.

In response, he had someone start blasting him. They accused him of being racist against Hispanics simply because he wasn't keen on Shakira and J-Lo, and tried to argue that Nirvana killed metal so he's not relevant anymore.

Cue a number of people, myself included, noting that rock and metal are literally international, with metal bands from places like Japan, Finland, and Botswana gaining international attention.

Well, I think you can imagine Dee's reaction after the halftime show...

There have been more rock musicians featured this century than he gives credit for, though, admittedly, they haven't really been the headliners.
List of Super Bowl halftime shows - Wikipedia

That said, if he wants more of them to be featured - particularly those in the hard rock genres - he should tell them to sell more albums. I'm looking over the Billboard Top 200 right now and the only "rock" album that isn't a compilation is Metallica's black album at #135 - and I didn't see any that weren't 20+ years old.

How is that any worse than watching men bash their brains out?

The whole thing is bread and circuses. It's not exactly a great place to turn to for deep lessons about morality and ethics.

I guessing most Christians don't have a healthy sexual attraction. But, like I said. If you don't like the half time. Turn it off ,like you said you did. But very few men will stop watching foot ball over this.

You could hear AC/DC Hells Bells on the house PA behind the broadcast like a dozen times.

But pop is probably most appropriate just because of the gigantic dance numbers that typically go with the genre. The halftime show is visual even more than sonic.

Then the half-time show started. I turned it off and had to discuss with my son and my two daughters why it was inappropriate.
To me, it felt cheap. There are things that only love can have us do really right.

But I can see the point of having Hispanics in the half-time show, in order to help support Hispanics in America while certain people are putting them down.

But I think they could have used better ambassadors.

It seems to me, that men can be brought up to value outward beauty, and then they have a discrimination problem so they can't tell the difference between a woman to use for pleasure, and a woman who is desirable for love and bringing up children with a good example. Their pleasure orientation can keep them from knowing how to love. And then come all the divorces and adulteries . . . and excuses, and maybe blaming the women.

Of course, the ones who share with love are not going to do this for money. So, you won't see them on a stage, I am glad to say.
