Many verses get my attention such as about our salvation but this Scripture just amazes me
"I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." John 17:23

What about you?

Micah 6:6 With what shall I come before the Lord, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old? 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God.

This is a brilliant verse. It is the visible unity of believers that bares witness of God's truth to the world.

This is why I believe in Christian community.

Been a believer almost 50 years.
I use this one every day:
1 John 1:9 King James Version (KJV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I like the translation "admit" instead of "confess."

Justice, mercy & humility? That is all God requires of us? That does not sound difficult, or is it?

Whether it is difficult or not, finding the narrow gate, living Jesus' Life , is only found by a few. Many remain on the wide road to destruction, often propagating the false gospels on this forum even, and in many religions, even though a few who reveal the truth have done so. Only the Father is able to grant the truth to someone, and only then can they grasp the truth or understand the truth at all.

A few could be a third and many could be two thirds. I believe that only 10% of the people actually represent God because His standards are high. He watches over every word that comes out of our mouth as I am sure you are well aware of. Still a third could be saved of all tongues, tribes, nations and people. Only like you say don't trust them to represent the truth because they are not willing to pay the price in holiness and sanctification. Many are called, few are chosen.

Jesus is the gate or door. He sets the standard. He lived His life as an example for us to follow. ""Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" (Luke 6:46)

I don't like this verse much, but it does jump into my mind now and again -

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
...Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
