The Business does legally owe him a letter correcting the mistake the Business committed in the first place. Also, the Head of the HR Department desires to be fired. If he is screwing one employee, then he is in the wrong position to keep that Company out of Court and costing the Business unnecessary costs. The time it takes to look at the documentation and dictate a letter than sign it is a whole lot cheaper than Court and Lawyer costs.
If you read other posts, you will learn that the HR Dept made an error that caused the whole mess in the first place. Often, all a Lawyer has to do is write a letter to get a business to do what they rightfully should have done in the first place. This is a case where a lawyer does come into play.
Texts that have been used for both views:
2 Chronicles 19:8-11 [Full Chapter]
Jehoshaphat also appointed in Jerusalem some of the Levites and priests and some of the Israelite family heads for deciding the Lord’s will and
for settling disputes of the residents of Jerusalem. He commanded them, saying, “In the fear of the Lord, with integrity, and wholeheartedly, you are to do the following: For every dispute that comes to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities—whether it regards differences of bloodguilt, law, commandment, statutes, or judgments—you are to warn them, so they will not incur guilt before the Lord and wrath will not come on you and your brothers. Do this, and you will not incur guilt. ...
1 Corinthians 6:1[ Lawsuits among Believers ] If any of you has a dispute against another,
how dare you take it to court before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
Since a company can not get saved, this text does not apply. Also, what is involved can not be solved using Matthew 18:15-18 Even if the Company is owned by a Christian: It is not the same situation as in I Cor 7 and in modern times a Business is a separate entity than the individual.
James 2:6
Don’t the rich oppress you and drag you into
court?
IRS is already dragging him to court. One would be foolish not to have a lawyer.
Proverbs 11:14 Without guidance, a people will fall, but
with many counselors there is deliverance.
Proverbs 15:22 Plans fail when there is
no counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The
scribes and the Pharisees are seated in the chair of Moses. 3 Therefore do whatever they tell you, and observe it. But don’t do what they do, because they don’t practice what they teach.

Appointing Judges and Officials
18 “
Appoint judges and officials for your tribes in all your towns the Lord your God is giving you. They are to judge the people with righteous judgment. 19 Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. 20 Pursue justice and justice alone, so that you will live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.
I would agree that we are not Israel. But, the principles still applies with common sense.
