Do you pray for a parking spot?

Some Christians pray to get a parking spot... what about you?

Personally I normally only pray when I feel it is very important... or if someone asks me to pray. I have the belief that God creates apparent coincidences and he tries to minimise intervention. So I want to save up requests for divine intervention. Then there are prayers for "God's will" to be done. I think those prayers could be made as much as you like.

no, I would not pray for a parking spot. I think there are a lot more important things to pray for than our own desires.

God is not our servant. Instead, we are supposed to be His servants, busy doing HIS will, not looking out for our own convenience.

In that situation you mentioned above, I would pray for patience, and the wisdom to think about doing His will, not my own.

I don't believe I have prayed for a parking spot (I think they are unredeemable lol).
Seriously what astounds me is that a person can circle around 20 times (burning up gas) in order to get a spot close to the doors, only to walk around the store for half an hour or longer.

all my life, I've shown up early anywhere I've gone- to work, to church, to an event, etc

so my favorite parking spot is usually available, lol
I like to sit on an end seat, too (another reason to go early)

Absolutely. And we get what we ask for. Why not? It's about relationship. God is the God of all things, including seemingly small things.

Usually when people are praying for a parking spot it means they got to church late.

Hi I meant busy shopping centres - especially on holidays - trying to find a really close park.

No. Never. The way I figure it, the Lord has already blessed me with the mental acumen enabling me to drive a car and park it, something I can do in a more or less timely manner.

Besides, if a person is running late for the movie they're aching to see, maybe he should have left ............ 10 minutes earlier? :dontcare:

The Bible says to pray always and Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. Philippans 4:6 GNT so yes if I needed a parking spot I would pray about it. Since I don't have a car I don't.

That assumes there are parking spots to find. God can make a way where there is none. But you have to ask.

If it's a real need and the parking lot is full, then perhaps. I'm never going to pray for a "good" parking spot just so I won't have to walk as far.
