Are you really questioning that? They killed an American in Iraq and attacked our embassy.

They didn't "attack" the embassy. At best you can say there was some vandalism and property damage/arson. No deaths, no injuries, and nobody breached the compound. Killing their top general is certainly not a justifiable response, especially when there's no evidence to show the Iranian government had any hand in planning any of it.

Please do not allow the actions of my government to alienate us from one another as people, simply because I was a United States citizen by birth. I have no quarrel with Iran or anyone from Iran.

Thank you for this friendly message. We need more peacemakers like you in our time.

I apologize to you for the actions of my own country. The actions taken by my country's government are leading us toward a war that I do not want, and are not reflective of my position or views, or of the Christian religion that I follow, in any way. The United States is currently taking steps to remove our head of state from office.

The Quds leader was a calculating monster who had done a lot of damage in the ME and was himself responsible for many murders. That America had the intelligence and capability to take him out should be a warning to Iranian Command and Control. He will not be missed.

But strategically why was this done? The alliance with Saudia Arabia, Iranian successes, Irans nuke programme and Trumps impeachment are background factors.

Trump seemed like he wanted to provoke a conflict in order to neutralise Irans nuke programme by force. But the rather weak Iranian response has foiled that.

So political distraction looks like the main reason for this. But since the Trump impeachment will most likely die the moment it hits the senate I wonder why he bothered.

You have no quarrel with anyone from Iran? What about 1,500 of their own citizens they rounded up and killed simply for protesting on Nov 15th? Sorry but that doesn't move you to have a quarrel? You might want to take time to reconsider?

If you want to quarrel with every nation that has such an atrocity on their books, you'll have a very full schedule.
