My Cousin Crystal

Please keep my cousin Crystal in prayer, she is dealing with DKA:

"Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a life-threatening problem that affects people with diabetes. It occurs when the body starts breaking down fat at a rate that is much too fast. The liver processes the fat into a fuel called ketones, which causes the blood to become acidic."

She believes she is dying and she cries to me over the phone, saying she is like 80lbs. and can't hold any food down, and none of my family out where she lives visits her.

Also, pray that I am able to go visit her, as I am on parole and cannot leave the county without permission.

DKA is a state, not an illness (the illness is diabetes). If she is in DKA, she needs to get to the hospital immediately. She needs IV fluids until she can keep food down. If she is alone, she needs to call 911.

Yeah she has been hospitalized repeatedly over the last month or so. She is in the hospital right now...has been for about a week this time.

I will pray for both of you. She is where she should be. The IV fluids should be replacing the food and fluid that she can't eat at this time along with the amount of insulin she needs at this time. She likely isn't dying but if she has that concern, she needs to tell her fears to her nurses. Part of their responsibility is to educate their patients both about their current condition as well as just the disease process that is affecting them. She can also ask for a chaplain to come visit her, talk to her, and pray with her.

Heavenly Father, cover her with your feathers and protect her from her illness and deliver her from Ketoacidosis. Balance her vitals and bring her comfort and healing, take away her fear, and restore her to normal healthy state. Help her body to metabolize her food, fats, carbs and fluids properly. I pray that by Your mercy LORD that Tone would be given permission and favor to leave the country and visit his sick cousin, In Jesus Name, Amen

My sister just called to let me know that they revived my cousin Crystal and she's back in the hospital.

I just left a msg. with my PO to get the go ahead to go see her. Pray that I hear back from him really soon...I first asked about two weeks ago, with no response.

Prayers! My mom had that when she was first diagnosed. It will get better once she knows her basal rate or correct long acting dose if she doesn't have a pump.

Thank you, she has been diagnosed since probably about late teens...it just got out of control, because she didn't take care of herself for a while. I hope it is not too late for her to reverse the damage.

*She's about 37 now.

Might want to look into diabetic anorexia/diabulimia. I hope she doesn't have it. I will keep her in my prayers

It's worse, she coded and they put her in a coma...working on getting to her. Thank you for your prayers.

HalleluYah!

I was able to go in with her just before they moved her from the E.R. to the ICU and I told her that I was there and the Ruach Breathed and prayed for her in Power and even the neighboring visitors and patients felt His Presence and I prayed for them as well.

It was a few hours before we could finally go see her again in ICU. There was all kinds of speculation going around, the worse being that her mind was gone. But, no specialist was there so how can we have a final decree. Not only that, just because medical staff says something, that doesn't mean that is what it is. The Creator of Heaven and earth and everything contained therein is in His Hands...and His Alone.

So, I went in to see her and kiss her, and hold her, and read Scripture to her, and encouraged her, and even played my favorite Christian song for her (Oceans). I told her that she is a Child of Yah and that His is the Voice of Love and that we all loved her...and fear and doubt had second thoughts...and trembled.

Eventually her son showed up, all the way from Arizona...her only child. I've been praying for him and encouraging him also, because he is dealing with the effects of a bad drug induced psychosis. I was able to encourage him and pray with him.

Today, my sister called and let me know that she and my other cousin are going back to see Crystal. I so much want to go, but I have to get it cleared again. The pass was only for yesterday, and I got back later than I was allotted at that. Anyways,I am trying to get a hold of parole, to see if I can get back over there.

Crystal is hooked up to a breathing machine and she is unconscious. She is only 84lbs...she looks so frail.

She is my Anima...my Nostalgia...

She once told me that I am more like an older brother to her...she is my closest cousin...and I have been away from her and my family out there for so long...because of my own setbacks.

Please keep us in prayer. My family just lost one of my other cousins last month...lil Tone...he was only 20 yrs.old.

Ruach ha Kodesh Breathe Mightily into this situation and raise this Body up in Yahshua ha Mashiach. Amen.

Oh yeah, my sister did say that they sedated Crystal, because she was grimacing and moving her arms, and they are going to MRI her...so this is good.
