• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It's good to keep taking any medication as prescribed; but also very important to keep reading Scripture prayerfully. The Psalms are a great record of Godly human experience. I love Psalm 40.

Thankyou & I see you have put it carefully there. Personally, I find it very frustrating because, I know what The Lord is capable of. His power breaks every yoke & yet you can't advise someone to stop taking their medication & seeing their psychiatrist.

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in Jehovah.

4 Blessed is the man that maketh Jehovah his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

5 Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which thou hast done, And thy thoughts which are to us-ward; They cannot be set in order unto thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.

6 Sacrifice and offering thou hast no delight in; Mine ears hast thou opened: Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not required.

7 Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me: 8 I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.

9 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly; Lo, I will not refrain my lips, O Jehovah, thou knowest.

10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great assembly.

11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Jehovah; Let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about; Mine iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; And my heart hath failed me.

13 Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me: Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.

14 Let them be put to shame and confounded together That seek after my soul to destroy it: Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor That delight in my hurt.

15 Let them be desolate by reason of their shame That say unto me, Aha, aha.

16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: Let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified.

17 But I am poor and needy; [Yet] the Lord thinketh upon me: Thou art my help and my deliverer; Make no tarrying, O my God.

All of reality is made up....so they are right on that. The issue is how much
we can influence what we think, and the answer is 100%.
Practice makes perfect. Practice having influence over your thinking.
In time, you can master it. Successful people work at it for years.

If you were Catholic, the priest MIGHT suggest you speak to a priest that is specialized in obsession. There's oppression, obsession, etc. I'm not an expert.
The first that is done is to make sure there is NOT a physical or mental reason for what you're experiencing. It seems that there isn't, but they would check this out.
Then you would be given advice.

Just a thought. I'm not suggesting this is the case, but I'd like to cover all my bases.

I do indeed love Psalm 40; and the experience of the Psalmist seems to be very similar to that of Ephesians 2.1-10.

If it's a religious teacher, best first make sure the doctrine that is going to be taught by whoever it is, is Biblical.

Not sure what you mean...
But the Catholic church has priests that specialize in exorcisms...not every priest can do this just because he's a priest.

If it happened to me,,,I'd trust myself to a Catholic priest.

In whatever circumstance, really good to keep
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Hebrews 12.2-3)

The above didn't help the demoniac...
Jesus had to heal Him by exorcising the demon(s) from him.

I wouldn't...
Well Farouk, apparently you don't understand the horror of what the O.P. is going through.

Apparently you believe prayer will heal everything including anything to do with demonic powers.

You can think and believe what you will....
but if this happened to you, I do think you would quickly change your mind when you didn't automatically heal by praying. Demons are not very afraid of prayer, although they do hate it.
