From "The New York Times", files: Feds Investigating Comey Over Leak Tied To Hillary Investigation, Report Says

Federal law enforcement officials are reportedly investigating whether disgraced former FBI Director James Comey illegally leaked classified information about a Russian intelligence document to reporters.

"By not safeguarding sensitive information obtained during the course of his FBI employment, and by using it to create public pressure for official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees—and the many thousands more former FBI employees—who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information,” The inspector general wrote. “In a country built on the rule of law, it is of utmost importance that all FBI employees adhere to Department and FBI policies, particularly when confronted by what appear to be extraordinary circumstances or compelling personal convictions. Comey had several other lawful options available to him to advocate for the appointment of a Special Counsel, which he told us was his goal in making the disclosure. What was not permitted was the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive investigative information, obtained during the course of FBI employment, in order to achieve a personally desired outcome.”

What the IG said in the quote does not change whether it is published in the NYT or the Daily Mail and that's what should be taken as fact from both articles. The rest of both articles, imo, should be questioned and examined for propaganda and bias.

Not sure why you think you're being rickrolled. You're perfectly free to read the New York Times article, apparently. Others may not be. I've fielded complaints about that before, too, and so I tend to avoid linking to the New York Times when I can. [NHE also hastens to note that when he can't read the article, he won't link to it. It presents a potential TOS issue.]

If the issue is really that you don't want exposure to points of view other than from your preferred publications, then all I can say is that threads in this forum will frequently have such viewpoints.

Because you broke forum rules by quoting a source without giving them credit -- your quote is from the Daily Wire but, while you do link to it, you imply that both the link and the quote are from the NY Times. This is dishonest and appears to be intended into deceiving people into thinking the quote is from the NY Times. If you aren't going to source the NY Times, because it is behind a paywall, at least give proper attribution to the Daily Wire but add the information is based off NY Times reporting.
