Yeah, who knows. The child might grow up to also want to volunteer to spend time reading to children. "just how terrible that would be"?

I can only hope you didn't mean they would grow up to volunteer, high heels and all.

What claim, exactly? That I used them in the same sentence, and that some of you, grabbed at the chance to assume something, then put the words of that assumption in my mouth? Might also want to warn them of how untruthful/deceptive, and reckless some can with towards their kids, due to nothing more than being blinded by stubbornness.

Sure, many of you are jumping on this for the very common reason you can use ot to say "bad Christian" "Good us" and that's fine, doesn't bother me in the least, you do it often. But in all seriousness, for the sake of your children, please, keep them away from such people, and see to it they don't suffer because if your own selfishness/stubbornness, and vindictiveness. They should not be a pawn in what you call a good fight, when it is anything but..

If so, why not something worse, an actual abomination? Yeah, I think it's safe to say the common tactic you choose to use here, doesn't stand up in the least.

I wasn't making reference to Catholics specifically. The Royal Commission found that there was prevalence in numerous denominations - Hillsong, Anglican, Catholic, Salvation Army - as well as other religious and non-religious organisations - This is off track but I thought it best to correct your perception.....

I also acknowledge you've been responding to posters and felt the need to defend.

IOW, If it works for you, what the bible says, goes, and if it doesn't, then you don't go by the bible? Right?

Nope. My principle is very simple, it's the Golden Rule, which is found in many religions. "Whatever is hurtful to you, do not cause to others".

Instead of mincing words, and throwing questions at you until you get angry giving yourself away, I'll just cut to the the chase with my opinion. I think your answer to that is actually yes. You have found a way to ignore very very clear warnings from the bible, and keep yourself in a world of denial where everything "seems" ok when it is anything but.

The Golden Rule is fine, and it's one of 2 commandments that Jesus used to sum up all of them. The other is to love God above all, and though there are those who block this part out so they can do as they choose (it isn't just you) they, unfortunately for themselves, don't count obedience to God as part of loving him. Jesus also said "If you love me, you will keep my commandments"

We've all had to make adjustments to our lives, some are successful, some are not, or basically, choose not to try, and yet others pretend they have done all that's necessary.

Who am I to judge? No one. Only Jesus, as appointed by God can and will do that. This is only a reminder of what he expects as well as an implementing of that Golden Rule, in that I would hope others would so such unto me if I were in denial, and try to wake me up to reality before it's too late. The "whatever is hurtful to you" part you mentioned, sometimes the truth hurts, but it still needs to be realized, whether we want to or not.

Well, there ya have it. I guess if you don't loudly condemn Drag Queen Story Hour, you're pro-pedophilia. 'Cuz we all know there's no other group out there other than drag queens that you can find anecdotal news stories about a member or members having engaged in sexual abuse. I'm fairly new here, but I'd suggest that if this thread is going to devolve into casting aspersions that a participant tolerates/sympathizes with pedophilia due to a difference of opinion on the Story Hour, perhaps the thread should be closed or reported.

You're overly judgmental. That's not becoming of a Christian. The truth is you know nothing about my circumstances or motivations, beyond what I have told you. You just presume to know based on your narrow-minded religious ideology.
