Good Day,

President Donald Trump's legal team for his upcoming Senate impeachment trial will include former Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz and Ken Starr, the independent counsel who investigated President Bill Clinton.

Nice... Dershowitz calls Adam Schiff to the stand while the sweat pours of his face as he walks to the stand. Priceless

Remember Trump is presumed innocent the house has the weight to prove other wise.... I am quite sure Ken Starr will make that quite clear in the defense brief. I would expect every house manger to be reminded of that responsibility every time Mr. Starr get the chance. He may even if Schiff is on the stand to have Schiff explain what the responsibility mean to him.... Then Mr. Starr will school him shamelessly.

2 Great adds to meet a pointed purpose.

I like this idea and all, but is it really as simple as all this? Doesn't the Senate have to vote on these kinds of things first, in regards to what witnesses either side are able to call?

That's not too surprizing.

What a ridiculous fantasy.

Remember Trump is presumed innocent the house has the weight to prove other wise....
We know Donald John made the phone call and we know that he unilaterally withheld aid to an ally under siege, so it would seem to come down to intent. Did Donald J. do this for the benefit of our nation or for the benefit of Donald J.? Then, if it can be proven the latter, is that a great enough betrayal of his oath of office to justify removal?

I am quite sure Ken Starr will make that quite clear in the defense brief. I would expect every house manger to be reminded of that responsibility every time Mr. Starr get the chance. He may even if Schiff is on the stand to have Schiff explain what the responsibility mean to him.... Then Mr. Starr will school him shamelessly.
More fantasy...

Donald J. has changed his tune concerning Mr. Starr.
I think Ken Starr’s a lunatic,” Trump said. “I really think that Ken Starr is a disaster.”

Trump added in the same interview: ”I really think that Ken Starr was terrible.

How many lawyers has Donald John been through in these last three years? I have to wonder if any top shelf lawyers would consent to represent him now, considering.

Good Day,

Yes indeed the Senate majority has much to decide.. just a bit of humor... But it is hard to deny they are great adds. They both have a specialty all their own.

Oh it's gonna be SO GREAT having Alan Dershowitz on the team! Now that everyone has forgotten Jeffrey Epstein Dersh is free and clear of any taint! And Ken Starr! Trump had some choice words for Ken Starr but that's water under the bridge.

I just wish The Donald could have gotten the prosecutors who put the Central Park 5 on trial! That would have been the super-best!

This is going to be hilarious.

...and also helped Jeffrey Epstein get a sweet deal back in Palm Beach.

Nice to see where Donald's mind is at.

Baylor University sexual assault scandal - Wikipedia

The scandal led to the ouster of head football coach Art Briles, the demotion and eventual resignation of Baylor University President Ken Starr, the resignation of Athletic Director Ian McCaw, and the firing of two others connected with the football program. It also led to the resignation of the Title IX Coordinator, Patty Crawford.

: Due to criticism of his handling of the scandal, Ken Starr releases a statement saying, "Our hearts break for those whose lives are impacted by execrable acts of sexual violence."

This might be common knowledge, but I don't follow college sports, so it was news to me.

Interesting:

Alan Dershowitz: Trump impeachment acquittal would make me unhappy

The Harvard legal scholar Alan Dershowitz, a member of Donald Trump’s team for his impeachment trial, has said he will not vote for the president in November and that Trump’s acquittal by the Senate “would produce results that make me unhappy as an individual”.

Up until now, Donald has valued personal loyalty above all things... is he finally learning, or is it just a case of different rules when his own hide is on the line?

It’s just Dershowitz desperately trying to maintain the fiction that he’s a Democrat. The right wing media love having someone they can call a Democrat who is happy to cheerlead for Trump at the drop of a hat.

Who is paying for Trump's legal defense? I'm sure the House hearings were funded by Congress's budget. Which means that we, the taxpayers paid for the prosecution. But is the defense team paid from the White House budget? I kinda doubt that Alan Dershowitz is working pro bono. And I'm sure he doesn't come cheap. Are the taxpayers also paying his billable hours?

Trump pays for it. When Bill Clinton left office, his legal bills were noteworthy.

Ken Starr defended Jeffrey Epstein in 2007, obtaining a sweetheart deal that put him back in the streets to molest teenage girls for another 12 years before he died.

While I understand that defending people who are 100% guilty, and whose entire demeanor and behavior screams "guilty," is a necessary skill for any Trump defender, Starr's defense of Epstein shows how willing he is to defend the most reprehensible and corrupt of individuals.

Dershowitz has also defended sexual predators. And he is apparently planning on defending the 'so what?' defense (i.e. Trump did it. So what???? It's not impeachable...)

I’m sure Donald will have manufactured a way to hang those bills on someone else.

Not to worry, people are saying that Mar-a-Largo is picking up the tap as they have had a surplus the past few years…

Not to mention Ken Starr's alleged role in helping cover up the Baylor Rape scandal, as the University President.

Defender of celebrity murders, defender of rapists and defenders of child sex traffickers and prosecuted Clinton to boot? What more could a True Red Republican want?
