I am posting to inform the members of the forum that, after prayer and thought, I have once again regularized my status in the Catholic Church by confession, although in many respects I am still culturally Anglican. I would like to continue fellowship primarily within the Anglican forum, as I am more apt to discuss things like daily office and prayer, rather than politics and gay people, as happens so often on some other forums. I understand that I will no longer be able to debate here, but primarily I seek fellowship.

A few notes about my perspective as a Christian follow. I still struggle with papal doctrines and believe these should be developed and justified in consultation with the Orthodox, but I do not oppose them exactly, though I do see abuses of power that ought to be reckoned with. Mostly, besides my studies, I commend these matters to Jesus. Perhaps there will be better solutions in 500 years time, if we're around.

I have always been an AngloCatholic since baptism, but my transition to Catholicism has not been easy. I left the Catholic Church shortly after joining, and I do not get along well with many Catholics with some exceptions.

I am on the traditionalist spectrum. I am sorrowful at the state of the church and her new rite, and I couldn't bear it in the beginning, having come from a traditionalist leaning Episcopal parish. But over the last several months I've found a traditional Latin mass to attend, and sometimes I worship (without communing of course) with the Orthodox at the liturgy of St. John of Chrysostom or Vespers.

The reasoning behind my transition involves the matter that I am very theologically Catholic. I much respect Anglicanism, and I was taught an AngloCatholic faith, although some other priests from different parishes teach me completely opposite doctrines.

There is a theological drift present in the ECUSA that I fear I cannot condone, and I have gradually drifted away despite the respect I have for the parish.

There is also a theological drift in the Roman Catholic Church of which I disapprove. As long as I've been a sacramental Christian, I have taken refuge in traditional liturgies and tried to ignore the wider church because there is not much I can do except pray and offer it up.

I have a profound respect for my Anglican background. I still maintain friendships and theological dialogue with members of the Episcopal parish, many of whom are AngloCatholic of some sort. I treasure many of the prayers and devotions I have learned.

I will continue in fellowship on this forum without debating, and hopefully my perspective, as informed by my Anglican background in a conservative Episcopal parish, will still be welcome.

I will have to change my religious status back to Catholicism if I can remember how! I hope everyone here can understand my position, even if we disagree. Anglicans tend to be good at this, and respectful of conscience, as am I.

I hope to continue my participation here, to discuss prayer, the Office, and all the wonderful things we talk about here in this generally friendly forum.

Please pray that we all, myself in particular, will grow in grace to be filled with good works and obtain our salvation at the last.

I look forward to future discussions!

I am glad that you have found a home in the Catholic Church. I hope that it will be a place of nourishment and growth for you. I look forward to continued conversations with you, here in STR and elsewhere. I have always appreciated your perspective on faith here in CF.

I am curious why you've made this decision. I definitely no intention of arguing with you or trying to get you to change your mind. While I was there I did experience some spiritual growth and even tho' I do not agree with a number of things in the RCC I respect them and think the TLM is positively some of the very best worship of Him I, for one, have seen. I am only curious. If you would rather or think it might go against the SOP, please message me.

I'd be interested in being included in this pm, if you wouldn't mind. Other people's spiritual journeys interest me, even if they're in a different direction from mine.
