Pray for our Persecuted Brothers & Sisters in Algeria

Algerian Christians : “They can close our Churches but they can never close the hearts that are receiving Christ & the body of Christ ”. The Algerian Protestant Church (Église Protestante d’Algérie, EPA), which integrates about 45 churches in Algeria and approximately 200,000 Protestant Christians . Out of the 46 protestant congregations in the country, some 12 have been closed since the start of last year. Algerian Christians are dealing with the shock of their country’s largest churches being closed by the Muslim government that continues a brutal crackdown on a number of Christian communities. For example the Full Gospel church of Tizi Ouzou was founded on 1996 and functioning very peacefully same like muslim citizen in their mosques. Algerian constitution gives equal rights to all citizens and freedom of speech. Then what happened now ?? The Kabyle region (Province of Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia) of Algeria is a part that occupied by minority Berber community (15% of population/ 6 million) with a different culture , language and spirituality. Before Arab Islamic invasion these community were Christians . During Arab invasion , by sword / by force convert them to Islam. Now that Muslim Berber community coming back to Christian faith , which is more suit to their culture. That is happening in Algeria right now. Now during this church shut down happens the local Muslims community support local Christians. Local Berber Muslims are against the intimidating & persecuting attitude of Muslim government of Algeria. For the first time in Algeria’s modern history, Muslim citizens have reacted and supported Christian citizens. From the early morning of the mass church closures, Muslim lawyers become involved, and they helped Christians to discuss with police station authorities and forced them to release all Christian detainees arrested in the town of Tizi Ouzou.

Reports one ministry monitoring persecution, “In the afternoon, Muslims, in a a sign of solidarity and awareness, reopened one of the closed church. Algerian Muslims enjoy their life & get full freedom of worship in all over Europe and North America by exploiting the Christian compassion , Love & mercy .
