Fox News goes to desperate lengths to gin up outrage over clip of Vince Vaughn chatting with Trump
The morning after a clip of actor Vince Vaughn having a brief, amicable conversation with President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump in a private box at the national championship college football game in New Orleans went viral, Fox News went to desperate lengths to make it seem as though Democrats are mad about it.

The problem, however, is that there isn’t much evidence anyone aside from right-wingers is actually mad.

You have to keep pushing false stories if you want your base to remain on edge.

Of course. Stir up dissension and strife. It draws in viewers. Increases add revenue.

No one wants to tune in to watch a casual friendly conversation.

Siraj Hashmi tweet: "People wonder why i’m not as liberal as i used to be. i’m still the same person i was in high school, it’s everyone else on the left who’ve gone off the deep end."

Seems Siraj considers himself by his own tweet as a liberal, though not as much as he used to be.

You have to keep pushing false stories if you want your base to remain on edge.

Seems it can go both ways.

If this bothers you: white lies matter; but it doesn't say: all lies matter; and this doesn't bother you: black lies matter; then 'lies' was the operative word.

It appears some conservatives that have erupted in anger do not understand sarcasm. You would think the person working for the Washington Examiner would be the tip-off, obviously not.

Should I know who Vince Vaughn is?
Wedding Crashers? I think he was in that movie, he's in a lot of unmemorable comedies.

Whenever I see a Facebook post where it says something like this, "Democrats outraged!", "Liberals angry!", "Progressives freak out!", and the like, I try and follow the sources to where this apparent outrage is coming from and I almost always fail to find any. Usually, all I find is this one guy who said something vaguely critical of whatever event the're supposed to be outraged about.

Conversely, I rarely ever find the opposite to be true. Occasionally, a "left-wing" source will spin something to make it seem like there's some conservative outrage about something a little too hard, but usually there's a pretty good basis for the claim even if it's a bit exaggerated, IMO. But I can almost always find something.

Does anyone one of us as common citizens know the actual truth? Nah.
Not really and most don't care as the agenda is more important than the people involved or the facts. Look at how people are being ruined in the media and they haven't even been charged with anything, or convicted. A sick society thinks accusation is enough.

I think that people on the right wing regard "triggering the libs" as a "win" because that is how they themselves react when they have been soundly defeated. Conversely, they try to enrage the left on principle, even if they do so by harming themselves as well.

Provide some links/screenshots to all these Democratic politicians please.
Nothing in your opening post says "Democrat politicians." It says Democrats, and there were a bunch this morning who were upset with Vaughn (who is a Libertarian anyway that supported Rand Paul) for spending time with Trump.

To me, it is silliness... getting upset over being civil.

For most folks, sporting events remain what they have always been: a place to relax. People usually relax with their friends, and unsurprisingly, famous celebrities are friends with powerful people — and blur ideological lines. The lunacy surrounding these predictable interactions indicates we, as a people and media, have reached the point of no return.

Fervor Over Vince Vaughn’s Handshake With Donald Trump Shows We’ve Lost It

That's the last paragraph in this Forbes article/opinion piece.

Haha, look at him still trying to be nuanced while the right is winning bigly.

That article speaks to this event being obviously false; however, the outcry over Ellen Degeneres and George W. Bush thing was real and ridiculous. Nonetheless, these are also things on Twitter, which a large segment of the population (myself included) do not participate in. The problem is these social media stories infect much of the regular news coverage.
