so I’ve had a few elders say something along the lines off
born again Christian women should be avoided when in comes to relationships because generally they were into the party lifestyle drinking doing drugs sleeping around ect before they came to Christ...
You've heard a few elders say something like this? Have you ever bothered to ask any of these few elders if they have any evidence to prove this claim? I'll bet you have not. I'll bet they have none.
What do you guys think of my opinions?
I think it is a pile of fleshly dross.
I got saved in the mid-80s and am a product of the hedonistic 70s, the "me generation." I am one of those born again
men who partied before coming to Christ. I was saved in what was called the "charismatic renewal," and I've known literally
thousands of born again men and women and while it is true
some of them fit the description of those few elders, most do not. I've known born again Christian women from all over the world and have not found the description generally true of them, either.
That generation of born again women raised their daughters in Christ.
Those few elders are idiots.
I spend my days counseling the partyers who drank ding drugs and sleeping around before and after coming to Christ. These are a minority of all Christians. I suspect what these few elders are speaking from is their practice of pastoral care and viewing the world from the narrow lens of eldership and not a larger view of the whole body of Christ. I further suspect their view is narrowed even further by sectarian bias.
Do you know what the NT calls those who unjustly and unnecessarily divide the body of Christ?
Do you?
