Interesting, I don't recall the Apostles returning to Jesus' words on the prayer closet, but they did on the continuation of prayer,

", , men ought always to pray, and not to faint"

(Luke 18:1)

It is a conversation with the Lord, very often when I am doing other things, cooking, housework, and it is amazing when he speaks, that inner voice and so clear. Wow, that wow moment.

Prayer and praise! Prayer and fasting! Prayer and action. We had an elder who when we had a day of prayer would always go out and cut the grass halfway through. He said that prayer should always blend with service.

Revelation 5:v.6-8 CJB
6 Then I saw standing there with the throne and the four living beings, in the circle of the elders, a Lamb that appeared to have been slaughtered. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the sevenfold Spirit of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of the One sitting on the throne. 8 When he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down in front of the Lamb. Each one held a harp and gold bowls filled with pieces of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people;

Revelation 8:v.1-6 CJB
8 When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for what seemed like half an hour. 2 Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven shofars. 3 Another angel came and stood at the altar with a gold incense-bowl, and he was given a large quantity of incense to add to the prayers of all God’s people 4 on the gold altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of God’s people from the hand of the angel before God. 5 Then the angel took the incense-bowl, filled it with fire from the altar and threw it down onto the earth; and there followed peals of thunder, voices, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

6 Now the seven angels with the seven shofars prepared to sound them.

I was always taught that to remember prayer, we should remember ACTS. It's a good way of modelling our prayer.
Adoration - we always come to God remembering that He is sovereign, holy, all knowledgeable and all powerful. He is worthy of our praise (Psalms 145:3).
Confession - we come to God acknowledging our sins and receiving his forgiveness (1 John 1:9)
Thanksgiving - we thank God for the good things He has done in our lives, for his faithfulness and his provision for us. Only one of the ten lepers who were healed came back to thank Jesus (Luke 17:11-19).
Supplication - we come to our God with our requests. Supplication comes from the latin supplicare which means to "plead humbly". We should continue faithfully with our prayers such as in the parable of the persistent window in Luke 18:1-8.

Yes, I was taught that also, it is good to be reminded.
