Living Water ~ Everyone who drinks of the water of materialism will thirst again.

John 4:21-24
Jesus said, “Believe me, woman. The time is coming when neither in Jerusalem nor on this mountain will you actually worship the Father. You Samaritans worship something you don’t understand. We understand what we worship, because salvation comes from the Jews. The time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, and that time is here already. You see, the Father too is actively seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Jesus urged the woman to contact the Spirit of God with her own spirit and drink the living water and so in ‘drinking' she could render real worship to God. From Spirit to spirit. In Christ is truth found as the fountain of life giving water. Jesus isn't the living water, but He is the fountain where it can be found!

Ephesians 2:22
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

The word Jesus gave her was that she would have eternal life.
John 4:14
but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life.”
Believing she told others. The Samaritans had little learning but the harvest was ripe for those who had done no sowing..

John 7:37-39
On the last and most important day of the feast Jesus stood up and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that person’s heart, as the Scripture says.” Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit. The Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been raised to glory. But later, those who believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit.

  • Rom 10:13 ~ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Have you lifted up your eyes to look upon the fields lately?

While addressing the question of “was it fitting that God, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory”, Hebrews 2:10, the text furnishes no explicit answer.

Rather a principle is supplied:
Hebrews 2:11
For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. For this reason Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters

Christ and the sanctified are one. The High Priest and prodigy sanctified together in ‘their’ suffering. One is Holiness and the other progressively being moved from glory to glory.

Unity is found in the human experience. The expression of the principle is found in the next verses
Hebrews 2:12-13
saying,
“I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters, Psalms 22:22
in the midst of the congregation I will praise you.”
And again,
“I will put my trust in him.” Isaiah 8:17
And again,
“Here am I and the children whom God has given me.” Isaiah 8:18

And the application is taken from particular facts from Jesus’ history.
Hebrews 2:14-18
Since, therefore, the children share flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared the same things, so that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by the fear of death. For it is clear that he did not come to help angels, but the descendants of Abraham. Therefore he had to become like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself was tested by what he suffered, he is able to help those who are being tested.

The children share the same flesh and blood likewise with their Brother. That’s the first application of the principle of unity.

The second application is Christ as deliverer from the fear of death by dying as a sinless One. He who died is our Brother and in His fraternal spirit it was His express purpose to lend us a helping hand.

And lastly, the author of Hebrews represents the human experience of Jesus, as serving the purpose of fitting Him to mediate for mankind to God. And as a sympathetic friend through all testing.

That He might be a merciful and trusty High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Jesus is the mediator, thru the Holy Spirit, to the Great Unknown.

He's there and knowable....now we can go boldly. He is the I Am.

It's the knowing that brings us to Him in unceasing prayer. Not the accent or pronouncement that is used to say His name.

In knowing who He is Christian's can have further understanding and therefore a clearer path home to our mother the New Jerusalem.

Hannah set an exemplary model of co-operation with God thru a prayer life that issued from the abundance of her heart. Her prayer asking of God was done in silence but her victory song/prayer is recorded for us. In that prayer the words “the anointed’ were coined.

It portrays the wave offering designated to the Nazarite vow of consecration. (this was offered up as a victory of finished business with the Lord)

Nazarites are the overcomers who work priestly work, not kingly work, and who replaced those who were using strange fire. Both kingly and priestly work are needed in His Kingdom that will be fully revealed at His coming.

Deeds are what Christ looks at.

God looked at the actions of Hannah and honoured her greatly. In the same way Christ spoke of the woman who anointed Him for His burial. Two bookends to a story of the Old Testament Journey out of the Wilderness of the Anointed One in consecrated suffering that issued in God’s desires being carried out in Samuel’s life and in Christ’s.

Consider the Apostle of our confession while considering also that disobedience is equivalent to not entering the rest …

That first confidence in Him, we are to hold fast to because it keeps us from turning away from His voice and hardening the heart in disobedience.
Christ’s faithfulness to us and His fidelity to duty was displayed in His earthly life, maintained amid constant temptation. But always faithful to God and fellow humans. Thereby He is entitled to our confidence. He inspires trust and incites us to imitate.
Never did He use His Sonship as an excuse for declining arduous and heroic tasks. “Get thee behind Me, satan” being more His mode.

We Christians are His house. A glorious structure, the masterpiece of the architect, the Holy Spirit. Made of new fabric, the fabric being ‘those who hold to the boldness of the Hope.
Transient times have passed. Now is the time for not repeating offences by learning from experience. This is not the time of displaying unbelief by turning away from the living God.
We are the companions of Christ, holding firm our confidence to the end.

Wherefore beware:
- a hardened heart is the source of unbelief and misbehaviour.
- encourage each other ‘today’ least the deceit of sin make repentance and faith more difficult tomorrow.
- and having begun, take care not to look back, but first consider the cost.

Companions of Christ share in His qualities of bravery and faithfulness.
Luke 22:28-29a
“You are those who have stood by me in my trials; and I confer on you, just as my Father has conferred on me, a kingdom so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom.

Matthew 25:21
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’

Romans 8:17
and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ—if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

James 1:12
Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Hebrews 4:1
Therefore, while the promise of entering His Rest is still open, let us take care that none of you should seem to have failed to reach it

This is about Christ’s work in God’s Rest. The Hebrew is idiomatic and conveys a strong negative as does also Hebrews 4:3 and Hebrews 4:5. Those being spoken to as ’Us’ are the fraternity of believers (Hebrews 3:1, Hebrews 3:6, Hebrews 3:12-14) while the promise is Eternal Life (Hebrews 9:6-8, 1 John 2:25)
If it wasn’t possible to fall short of the promise the warning would not have been given. (Hebrews 3:14, Hebrews 9:25, 1 John 2:25) The application is both theoretic and practical. Commentators have rendered the use of the word “’seem’ to have failed “ as ‘think’ or ‘imagine’ or ‘being of the opinion’ to have failed’ or in the forensic sense ‘to be convicted’ of failing.

Both hope and fear are presented to stimulate hope of gaining the Rest and the fear of losing the Rest. Those who first heard the gospel/good news of the Rest failed because of their unbelief and lack of trust in the Lord. (Malachi 2:2, Romans 15:4.) Faith was the missing key. Because of lack of faith and trust in the Lord they did not profit from their experience. (1 Corinthians 12:24, James 1:5-8) Very few were saved to the good land. Like those of Hebrews 11 we also have a share in the Rest.

Unlike the Rabbinical Sabbath Rest of abstaining from anything that resembled work, Christ has replaced the Old Testament Sabbath with a new humanized Sabbath that makes the good of mankind the observable Law.

Jesus, Son of God, the Great High Priest, has passed thru the heavens … let us therefore draw near…. to receive mercy and grace. A very sharp contrast has been made between Christianity and Leviticalism. A great difference in attitude toward God spiritually, shown in love, trust and confidence, which was first made possible by Jesus the Christ.

The Word cuts thru the chaos thereby creating Cosmos 1 Peter 3:4

Every movement of humility towards enlightenment and justice is in reality a movement towards greater simplicity of life. The kernel of human progress is moral culture. Simply and faithfully resigned to duty, accomplishing the daily work with tranquil energy which nothing worries or discourages, toiling in the humble and obscure pathway towards perfection and light, the morality of the greater number is the only resource by which liberty can live in a democracy by an alliance of effort for moral action.

Merry Christmas!

“Reconciliation”, the end of estrangement from God, is the purpose of the coming of Christ. "Be reconciled to God” 1 John 4:10 “For we have been given the ministry of reconciliation” 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

According to the Father, the world is off balance, not conforming to the standards which He has set. The Father Himself is the pattern by which He tests mankind. 2 Corinthians 5:19 His intention is to reconcile the world to Himself. It’s not to reconcile Himself to the world’s standards.

An ambassador for Christ has recognized the need for intimacy of fellowship with God, has adjusted their goals to His standards, are being conformed to the Father thru Christ Jesus 2 Corinthians 5:20 because of that which Christ accomplished has thru His death Romans 5:20 on the cross Ephesians 2:16
Jesus chose to be identified with mankind and willingly shed His own blood for us. (Romans 3:25, Colossians 1:20, Hebrews 2:17, Romans 5:10-11) That, in effect, is the source of our joy!

The change that the Lord’s death accomplished was great. Not only was the relationship of the world to God changed because it was then rendered saveable, but also the experience of mankind to God underwent change. The Father was in the Son giving opportunity for mankind to be one in Him, and committing to those responding to His Love the word of reconciliation for others to be partakers of reconciliation to God as well.

Apart from the ministry of reconciliation those to whom reconciliation has been provided will never be adjusted to God’s standards. (Psalms 34:2, Romans 11:15, Hebrews 8:2, Colossians 1:19)
The message of reconciliation should point directly to Jesus, who is the Father’s agent of reconciliation, and thereby creates a direct line to the Father for others to see for themselves the truth of the Father’s Love. (Ephesians 3:19, Colossians 2:9)

A person may be redeemed but still not be reconciled. (Exodus 19:4-6, Romans 5:1-2, Hebrews 6:1) but are in need of the further, fuller blessing (Ephesians 2:13) obtainable for all (Psalms 25:14, Psalms 34:2, Hebrews 11:40, Colossians 1:23, Romans 8:19, 22, Psalms 115: 15-16 )

Therefore whoever says “I abide in Him” ought also to walk just as He walked (1 John 2:6) for there is salvation in no one else (Acts of the Apostles 4:12 ) and is available only in the new and living way (Hebrews 10:20, Job 22:21)

Colossians 1:22-23
He has now reconciled in his fleshly body through death, so as to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before, if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven

2 Corinthians 5:20
So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Merry Christmas!!

Christ planted the seeds of mutuality in marriage and of empowering women and children and the underling.

“Christ left an example, that you should follow in his steps. ‘He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.’ When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly…now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls”, 1 Peter 2:21-25

“In like manner…”

Paul used the Greek word “hupotasso” for what is rendered “subject or submit” and is a Greek military term meaning "to arrange [troop divisions] in a military fashion under the command of a leader”.
OR
In non-military use,it was "a voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility, and carrying a burden". Hupotasso - New Testament Greek Lexicon - New American Standard
1 Using the military definition of the word “The wife stands behind her husband in all things when her husband stands behind Christ”.
2 In the non-military meaning, “a voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility, and carrying a burden.”
3 In relationship to family “A wife cooperates and assumes responsibility with her husband to carry their burden with Christ.” Ephesians 5:22-24

“Husbands, dwell with your spouse according to the gospel knowledge. This knowledge that you have, I want you to honour the wife, because you will be heirs together in the grace of life.” 1 Peter 3:7

After singling out slaves and exhorting them to be submissive to their masters and patiently endure unjust punishment Peter then moved on to Christian wives who had unsaved husbands. Wives that were seeking to win husbands to the Lord Jesus.

They were going about it the wrong way and Peter corrected them in that. Those husbands were not people who would listen to reason about the gospel so the best sermon was preached by example.

Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behaviour of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 1 Peter 3:1-2

The pious living being promoted didn't depend on outer adornment to effect the change like they did before they were saved. They were instructed not to appeal to their husband's depraved nature to try to convert them to Christ. 1 Peter 3:3-4

Kosmos - adornment - is the opposite of chaos. Her adornment was to be in keeping with her Christian status. Knowing oneself in one's new nature, the character that proceeds from the heart. So in keeping with her Christian status the way was to confront the husband not with the world but with the Saviour so as not to feed his sin nature but rather appeal to the unbeliever’s conscience from the inner spiritual being. Romans 12:2

No one can serve 2 masters. The term lord referred to near relatives, father, mother etc while John uses the same Greek word to refer to the 'elect lady' in his epistle. "As long as the believing wives are doing good, they need not be afraid with any sudden terror of the account which their unbelieving husbands may exact from them" 1 Peter 3:6-7

So whenever you are feel unloved, unimportant or insecure, remember the following words and to Whom you belong:

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone.

In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.”

Ephesians 2:19-22

Merry Christmas !!!

At the Incarnation of Jesus, He laid aside His majesty to take on the form of a servant. The Son is always the manifestation of the Father. Whatever the form in the past, it's certain He was the Word, the Speech, the method of communication of the Eternal God.

For the redemption of mankind He has laid aside that form and taken on the form of a servant. The new form still manifests the same God, the form that mankind may look upon and thru the process of time come to know the Eternal God.
He is the Divine Expression , just as the Holy Spirit expresses the Divine consciousness. Thru these methods the limitlessness of God is brought into the range of the limited of mankind.
The Son brought the Father into sight at the incarnation. And following His death and resurrection the Spirit brings hearing to the consciousness.

The incarnation is a revelation - to mankind - of mankind and also as to the Divine intention. A revelation of God, for the perfect man (Jesus) is the image of God.
We find in Jesus God's revealed intention as to the purpose of every human being;
- having a mind of royal and loyal love expressed in the activity of self-emptying service as the expression of loyalty.

In His example we can find His affectionate joy in the joys of His people, and sorrows in the midst of their sorrows.
This truth, too large for perfect comprehension, is yet recognized as the lines from the unique Personality of Jesus pointing into immensity. IOW Thru the man Jesus, mankind has found God.

Jesus of Nazareth is perfect in His humanity. That humanity is the cornerstone and if all it's lines are carried forth the whole fact will be included. Therefore it’s our duty and reasonable service to have the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ is submission to the dominion of Love yet reigning in the Power of Love.

Altho the light of the world has come into the world as the Expression of God bringing into view the true image of God, mankind doesn’t always see it because they have been blinded by the fall. In seeing they see not, hearing they hear not because the Consciousness of God has not reached their ears.

Something must be done to quicken the intelligence, to open the eye. That the Incarnation doesn't do. But it does provide the clear view of God for those who have a quickened intelligence. For them, the mortal has put on immortality. They have seen the Divine self-revelation contained within the Incarnation. How?

Reconciliation.

When mankind, thru the mystery of the atonement, is reconciled, and the miracle of regeneration is completed, then, in the Vision of God granted in Christ, will mankind be completely reconciled in intelligence, emotion and in their will.
The Incarnation has made the provision for the reconciliation of the whole man. But into this reconciliation man will only pass as he becomes reconciled to the death of Jesus Christ.

Looking at the time of Christ’s birth again we see:
Heaven, earth and hell were all stirred up at His arrival and all gave their testimony.
The direct signs given to mankind were:
- the Star of Bethlehem
- Angelic ministry to Zacharias, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds
- Voices of the prophets
Indirect signs given to mankind were:
- Herod's terror at the magi's visit carrying gifts that indicated royalty
- the slaughter of the innocents.

You would think we would be more in tune with all the signs and prophesies being fulfilled in front of our eyes these days, such as the return to homeland of the Jews, and blood-moons falling on Holy Days, as more signs in Israel that God is moving.

Those former prophetic manifestations focused on Jesus' 1st coming, but now in these end-times these signs are leading to His second coming ... but are we paying attention?

“And The Spirit and The Bride are saying, 'Come', and let him who hears, say, “Come”, and let him who thirsts come and take the water of life without charge.”

God Bless you!

Romans 12:6-8 follows the progression of prophesy in the new testament time for the church.

Starting at the first verse, Romans 12:6 prophesy is a direct revelation from God that speaks for God. Hebrews 1 tells us that in times past God spoke to us thru prophets but in this day He speaks to us thru the Son.
So in a change from the old priesthood and into the new it has been scripturally pointed out that the old has passed away, become obsolete. Now prophesy is always related to Christ and a deeper revelation of Him for the edification of His Body.

The mind of Christ is given to His own and all believers should strive to gain by truly laying themselves out as a living sacrifice Romans 12:1-3 (death to self) and that's just considered by God as a reasonable service of all believers.

Prediction also can be included in prophesy. In any case it's light shining into the darkness.

The next verse, Romans 12:7 relates to teaching, usually that which is revealed prophetically being taught. Teachers then would teach from their conviction of the truth revealed to their hearts, as truth, and according to the Holy Spirit within them but always aligned with that contained in scripture.

The verse following that Romans 12:8 is exhortation that is based on both of the above.

All 3 are used for building His Body up in stature leading to the fullness of Christ.

And all of them supply life to the saints because of the line pointing straight from the Son to illuminate the Father for the Son’s Body of believers.

Hebrews 6:18-20
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the Hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this Hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Hope is central to the teaching of the book of Hebrews. Hebrews unfolds two great heavenly mysteries. The first is the heavenly priesthood of Christ, and the second mystery is the heavenly sanctuary. There Christ ministers to us and into which He gives us access. Both of these mysteries are mentioned as the Hope set before us.

Hope enters into the veil and finds our Forerunner who has entered for us. This Hope is objective. It’s the Hope contained in these verses that are the anchor of our soul! What a powerful word that is!

As our hearts are fixed on the Hope, that Hope, as a subjective grace, is stirred up, drawing the heart to enter within the veil with Him. Mind (soul) along with heart and emotion (stirred and drawn) is the power of the universe realized!

Where our Hope lives there the heart lives too. Therefore we, our real selves, are living with Him also. An anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

Christ Jesus’s Fruit is for our Edification, the Source and the Sustenance of Life. One of the keys of unfolding what He is to mean to us is in seeing the continuation from the Gospel of John, to the Book of Hebrews and as it is picked up again in the Epistles of John.

In the Gospel of John the Lord is first seen as life John 1:4, then as the bread of life John 6:36, followed by the water of life John 4:14, and as the breath of life, the air that we breath John 20:22.

In the book of Hebrews Christ Jesus is that fount of every blessing found at the throne of grace and explains the legal reasons why that is Hebrews 4:16, see also Revelation 22:1.

In John’s Epistles we are shown how to approach the Divine Presence in the individual aspects of the Christian life.

The purpose of John’s Gospel is that believers might have life John 20:31 while the purpose of his 1st Epistle is that those who have life may Know that they possess it. 1 John 5:13 The latter was written to compliment the former and was intended for genuine believers.

Branches that abide in Him have the ability to Trust in Him. They know that they can go boldly to the throne and reside there with Him. Hebrews 6:17-18. Trust therefor in His love because He is unchangeable and faithful to give protection and safety. Psalms 91:2, Proverbs 3:5-6, Philippians 1:6

It’s not physical enemies that we’re battling against but spiritual ones lurking in the invisible realm. For that reason what is needed is to Wage the War in God’s domain, where God dwells in the praises of His people. Psalms 22:3

I was surprised to discover that almost all of the teachings of abiding with Christ are from the Gospel of John and 1st Epistle of John. The teaching comes first from Christ Himself: John 14:17, John 14:20, John 15:4, John 17:21

And it’s interesting that the first words of the disciple John, to Jesus, were “Where do you abide?” John 1:38, Psalms 84. It seems that this was the profound question that he never stopped asking until he had learned the answer. And that answer John has placed as the centrality of Christ’s teaching! John’s teachings are concerned that the world would believe in the indwelling with his Lord because Love can and does abide there. 1 John 2:5-6, 1 John 2:24, 1 John 2:27-28, 1 John 3:6, 1 John 3:24, 1 John 4:4, 1 John 4:15-16, 1 John 5:20

Acceptance of that which appeals to a higher calling, namely Love, turns us away from an inexhaustible need within that is impossible to fill and turns us to placing trust in the hope and promise of greater things.
The old nature's inherent longing makes an ideological shift that places the void in the hands of God to fulfill.

"You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”" Psalms 91:1-2

Knowing this, that only His righteousness and tender mercies could possibly have brought us to such a high level of acceptance into the Holiest Place where our Great High Priest dwells.
It can only be as we abide in Him and Him in us that such a privilege is granted. Christ is the mediator of our souls and His blood is always available to cleanse the conscience so that we can begin anew with a clean slate each time we go to Him.
Grace renews and it’s available at the throne as we are subject to bringing our thoughts captive to Christ for the renewing of our minds. That’s the outward expression of being in Christ, while the Holy Spirit has grace being built into us to sustain our Christian life within.

But here’s the thing … obedience. It was the one thing that Jesus had to learn. Obedience brought Him to the position of High Priest so that He could affect His perfection into us. That’s the other part of salvation Hebrews 5:8-9
We, as children of God, are on that same path to learning obedience according to His standards. It’s our new and better way. His perfection was revealed in His own life, thru the trials that He endured. It perfected Him forevermore. Hebrews 7:28

He came to restore to us the life of God that we had lost. That alone is our salvation. The Father wrought out in the Son the perfect human character that fully united the human will with the divine nature.

Think about that! He spent His earthly lifetime perfecting that!

So when He had been perfected, in humility, submission and surrender to God alone, (which is also mankind’s duty and blessedness Romans 12:1-3), He became the ‘author of eternal salvation’ to all those who now obey Him in following His example.
In His perfect human nature He can communicate with each one of us, to lift us into spiritual reality, into God’s will, into fellowship and into His presence.
Because the Way that He leads is the living way which He perfected.

The path that Christ founded, and opened to us and in which He walked, is the path of obedience ~ as the path to God.
That’s the thing to animate us, with God’s own Spirit, to obedience. That’s why He, the perfected one, can alone be our salvation. Hebrews 10:14; Hebrews 12:2 His death was our death, but His life is our life too. Hebrews 9:11; Hebrews 13:21

Every person needs truth behind their convictions John 15:6, John 16:18 While Hebrews 6 says that sins are not erased by going back and being saved all over again. Rather …. the faithful can lose rewards John 15:2, 1 Corinthians 3:15. The truth is that God has us covered but we still have our parts to play in salvation.

The work of the Father in His purpose is basic to security Ephesians 1:4, Hebrews 2:10 because it’s the power to save and to keep John 10:29, Romans 8:31-34 being also the promise of God, John 3:16 because of His love Romans 5:7-9

Christ’s work is His provision Romans 5:8, Romans 8:1 as the author of eternal salvation Hebrews 5:8-9 It is finished, paid in full. His resurrection and ascension was the provision made for that security. Ephesians 2:6 And basic to our security is His position as our advocate Hebrews 9:24 where He pleads for the benefits and values of His blood and His work as the Great Shepard of our souls. John 10:27-28, 1 Peter 2:25 ‘saved to the utmost Hebrews 7:25

The Holy Spirit’s indwelling is also basic as the builder of the temple of living stones, permanent and not temporary. Ephesians 2:22 because we have been baptized into Him, Ephesians 5:27, 1 Corinthians 12:13 in which Christians have the sealing work Ephesians 1:13-14 The Holy Spirit is God’s irremovable and identifying brand.

It’s not a matter of losing salvation but of losing rewards for those who have obtained salvation.

And an ongoing repentance is not what produces our salvation but rather it’s the fruit of it. We're either in Christ Jesus and a forgiven person (past, present, future) or we're not. Any further repentance isn't in the condemning sense of the word, replacing what He has already done. The only continuing sacrifice mentioned after the Cross for those who are truly in the faith is Romans 12:1-2
“…offer ourselves up as living sacrifices”
by dying daily and picking up our crosses as we submit to the Holy Spirit, letting Him do His work of sanctification. Always working out our own salvation, in co-operation with the Godhead, with fear and trembling.

Hebrews 7:25
Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

Those who try to take comfort in a supposed New Testament "attitude of leniency" toward sin need to hear again the words of Paul: “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience” Ephesians 5:6. However, there is hope, because “where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” Romans 5:20.

so let's embrace the holy Law of God, recognize our sinful condition before it, and come boldly before the throne of grace to obtain the grace we need to live it out Hebrews 4:15

Having the mind (the nous) of Christ Romans 12:1-3 the askesis that is commonly taught in the bible. It is indeed the gospel according to Jesus.

If anyone is willing...
let him first deny himself...
then take up his cross...
and follow me...

One has to be willing to deny themselves, the body and mind subject to the spirit, pick up the cross, follow HIM as He is subject to the Spirit, to make the first step of purification of the soul as entry into the Faith (in Him) which Christ discipled to His Disciples (chela).

The catharsis... the purged conscience... is maintained at the throne of Grace in daily coming to Him in prayer. One shouldn't choose to seek Him elsewhere ...

The kata-holon the “totality.”.. is the heart of the matter. A darkening of the nous that returns to the ways of the Gentile is forbidden.

Ephesians 4:17-24
This I say therefore, and testify in [the] Lord, that ye should no longer walk as [the rest of] the nations walk in [the] vanity of their mind, (nous)
being darkened in understanding (dianoia), estranged from the life of God by reason of the ignorance which is in them, by reason of the hardness of their hearts,
who having cast off all feeling, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greedy unsatisfied lust.
But *ye* have not thus learnt the Christ,
if ye have heard him and been instructed in him according as [the] truth is in Jesus;
[namely] your having put off according to the former conversation the old man which corrupts itself according to the deceitful lusts;
and being renewed in the spirit of your mind;(nous)
and [your] having put on the new man, which according to God is created in truthful righteousness and holiness.

We are to keep an unveiled spirit to live in communion with God. Where there is a closed nous, there is a closed spirit that God cannot shine light into. Darkened in understanding is called dianoia ... having the same root as nous but while nous is a organ the dianoia is the function of the nous.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind 3563,nous

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: (blindness: or, hardness) Strong's Greek: 1271. (dianoia) -- the mind, disposition, thought

Romans 13:12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts.

Theological Dictionary of the New Testament.
nous the meaning of the term:
1. The original meaning of nous is (inner) sense directed on an object, and from this come such meanings as ``sensation``power of perception, and mode of thought. The main nuances are ``mind, insight, understanding, judgement and meaning``
2. The word is rare in the LXX, since Kardia is there the main organ of understanding. The usual meaning in Apocrypha is mind or disposition.
3. The term is imprecise in postbiblical Jewish works, having such senses as moral nature, mode of thought, and power of spiritual perception.

Corinthians 14:19 Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind (nous) in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.

An inspired message or revelation from God in the 5 words are good from intuition of the nous while a prepared message is from the intellect and not necessarily inspired.

The intellect and intuition are separate functions. Intellect is of the soulish (soul-life) intellect and intuition is a function of the human spirit.

It's important to know at every moment from what area of nous one is working from. Sometimes it could from direct revelation, other times it could be from those things that have been pondered upon in the heart and other times it could be from a darkened mind. In reflecting upon these things there is no problem in discerning one's actions at all times. The bible's example is to the revelation, followed by the pondering in the heart, giving forth to rightly dividing the Word of God, and speaking forth with knowledge.

A believer hasn't the same mind of the darkened intellect referred to in Romans 1:28 where it says reprobate nous, or Ephesians 4:17 a vain nous. nor Colossians 2:18 a fleshly nous. or 2 Timothy 3:8 a corrupt nous. nor Titus 1:15 a defiled nous.

The believer 'knows' God and in 'knowing' Him they 'know' they are saved. In hearing they have believed, being reborn into the new heart and spirit. They have a renewed nous that they can understand spiritual things. That 'knowing' is the work of the regenerated nous. John 17:3 The place where Christ dwells within is where we KNOW that He hears our prayer, where the peace beyond understanding dwells because it is NOT associated with conditions pertaining to the outer condition of the soul.

The author of the book of Hebrews advised believers not to stagger in the wandering of their souls, the souls they had to deny, but to press on in their spirit so as to enjoy the heavenly Christ so that they could participate in the king's rest.

If they staggered in that soul wandering, they would miss out on God's goal by suffering the loss of the enjoyment of Christ and also the kingdom's rest in this age. His word to the Hebrews was able to expose the intent behind the believers who were staggering thru the process of salvation.

Our spirit is the organ with which we contact God, while our heart is the organ with which we love God. So for the human spirit to contact or experience God requires that our heart love God. Soul is of 3 parts ~ mind, emotion, and will; also the human spirit contains 3 parts ~ conscience, communion and intuition. The heart is a composition of all parts of the soul plus the conscience which is a part of the spirit. Therefore heart can be said to be the thoughts of the mind and the will with it's intentions. Thoughts affect intentions while intentions carry out one's thought. God's word can cut through our spirits and souls until it discovers the desires and thoughts of our hearts.

The heart of each individuals nous, whether it be acting from body, mind or spirit is our lifeline knit into us. A renewed nous is the organ to contact while the heart is the bearer of what comes out of the mouth, ie: the fruit thereof. When God is invisably there it's in knowing that the nous is enacted. Enacting prayer w/o ceasing. The knowing of His invisable Presence, never leaving never forsaking, while the position of the believer can be working from any area of the nous at any time. The difference can be in the awareness, but the awareness is part of the 'knowing'

He doesn't withdraw, only going from visable (whether in sight, sound, or feeling) to invisable where the trial goes on in His "seeming" absence.

(( We were talking about this elsewhere where "spiritual blessings" are the "meat" for mature believers rather than that which is material or visable.))

I believe it's His teaching method to 'seemingly' withdraw where His disciples are 'seemingly' left.

Yet we're told to worship in spirit because God is Spirit. Many people have many different blessings from God and when these are withdrawn we tend to suppose that God has also.

One can have visions of Him or hear audibly from Him or the Word comes alive in reading the bible while some have showers of material blessings come to them and others He visits with healing or comfort. Yet He just is whether we see, feel His touch, hear Him or not. Sometimes He just wants us to stand still while He moves the world around us.

The heart of each individuals nous, that part that has body and mind (soul-life) in submission to human spirit that is in turn connected in submission to the Holy Spirit .... is that which is connected to God in the uniqueness of our walk. Impossible when the soul is not under submission to the spirit. Our human spirit needs to be submissive to the Holy Spirit. It's that part of the human anatomy that suffered death at the fall and that which is renewed at regeneration.

God loves us because of who we are, vessels for Him, not in spite of who we are. It's the non-submission of body to mind or mind to spirit that keeps us in the fallen path and that should not be.

Have a happy New Year everyone!

The book of Ruth has some of the most fundamental and powerful doctrines of the kingdom. Symbolically it demonstrates God’s redeeming power. The man who bought his family land or kinsman back was known as the redeemer, or in Hebrew, the gō’el. The gō’el, was the hope of Israel. It was deliverance at a price, and the gō’el paid that price.

Leviticus 25:25, Leviticus 25:48, Deuteronomy 7:8, Ruth 4:4, Ruth 4:15

Each actor in Ruth became an expression of God’s efforts to bless His children. Ruth especially was rewarded for her efforts for bearing the burden of sufferings that Naomi endured. And because of her willingness she was lifted of the burden by the mercy of her redeemer.

Ruth had chosen to enter a covenant both with the Lord and with Naomi. That gave her access to the blessings from the Lord and the right to a redeemer. With that covenant Boaz was obligated to redeem her. The provision was put in place to save those who found themselves in a position of bondage and destitution. Because of her covenants, Ruth received redemption for herself and her loved ones. She became the great-grandmother of King David. Our Redeemer descended from that line of redemption.

The fulfillment of Hope for those who were most in need of help speaks of the Hope of Israel. Our redeemer became our kinsman when He took on human form. 1 Peter 1:18-19

The legal side of redemption is what God has done for us in Christ in the past. Romans 4:25, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 8:1, Colossians 1:14 and is the vital part of what the Holy Spirit is doing in the new creation ... It is The Way of Christianity.

That knowledge alone can leave one cold and lifeless but understanding of what belongs to the new creation in Christ, the rightful place of one who belongs to Abba and the privileges that become The Truth by the ministry of the Holy Spirit thru the Word in us, then wisdom is born.

A study of the legal side 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:21-26, Titus 2:14 to come into some of the vital facts 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, Ephesians 1:17-23

God has revealed what He’s done for us in the process of building the nature and The Life of the Father into the new creations human spirit. Showing the exceeding greatness of His ability on behalf of those who believe. Colossians 2:15, Galatians 2:20, Romans 6:8, Ephesians 2:6 giving us a living picture of the work of Jesus Christ.

The new inner nature has received the Life and Nature of God and now the Holy Spirit is building up thru the Word the ability to walk as Christ did, dwelling on the ground of faith within the newly created heart. Jesus’ crown of thorns earned for the new creation many crowns to strive toward, the righteous glory of life Ephesians 3:20 Which is the power of God in the resurrected life in the new creation. The pleasure that the Father has in His Son finds rest and satisfaction in fitting the new creation into His Purpose. John 16:13-14 To believe in God is to believe that He rewards.

BUT the mind is a matter of persuasive reasoning “Come, let us reason together”, part of the makeup of human beings. Taking each thought captive to Christ, we gain the mind of Christ while in the midst of performing our reasonable service Romans 12:1-3 The mind of Christ gained from our reasonable service is thee new added benefit not available before the NT covenant.

Even then that’s not really knowing God. Knowing God is to come to a full knowledge of Him, Father and Son, in the hope of the glory set before us. John 17:3 And as it’s expressed in love, THAT is the knowing of Christ Himself. Knowledge that comes from revelation, knowing, the spirit of revelation. Pray for that so as to have the full knowledge of Him. Ephesians 1:17-19 Knowledge that is foundational to a believer, and is quite necessary.

It’s found by leaving the old life and clinging to another in a covenantal life, just as Ruth did.

Hebrews 13:15
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise
—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

The pathway that Jesus took while on earth comprised of transcending every circumstance to touch the Father in praise. Following Him in praise our spirits also transcend up to the heights of heaven, soaring in praises. Praise is the path to victory! Praise brings us higher than even prayer can because praise is gratitude that transcends human logic, in dire times and at all times. Our life demands praise! Isaiah 38:18, Psalms 146:2

Praise soars above inner wounds. In praise our belief soars above the doubts. Offering Him praises puts the enemy to flight! Acts of the Apostles 16:25, Psalms 106:12 Praise opens doors to victory! In praise the army of the Lord was led into the battle having the musicians leading first! 2 Chronicles 20:20-22

Spiritual warfare depends on praise! It's the only way to even the odds! Our habitation is different from the high places of old that were an abomination to God. We have come to the heavenly Zion in our praises!

Praise, as a spiritual offering, leads our whole being to new heights. In praise faith soars to sit with Him in the heavenlies. In praise numbness turns to love and peace is received.

When you're facing any trouble turn to God, lay your troubles before Him asking for His will to be done and saying “Your Name is above all, Lord Jesus, my praise is to You alone!” in the heart and from the lips 2 Corinthians 4:13 and believing that you will receive His grace, mercy and a cleansed conscience. Because that's what He said He'll do! Therefore, in grace, we will stand in all boldness. This is the principle of praise.

Seeing God’s glory, even dimly, belief is established. 1 Corinthians 13:12 As His glory fills the spirit so praise is possible. In seeing and believing we can say “Lord, You were always right.” But we must also praise the Holy Spirit in acceptance of any corrections. God’s work and love are contained within every move of the Spirit’s discipline. Psalms 25:8, Psalms 100:5, Hebrews 12:5

Praise's basic ingredient is faith. As new creation children, children of the promise being kept, He reveals to us His Truth. Galatians 4:28, 1 John 2:25, Revelation 4:11, Romans 1:20

Having seen His mighty hand that's brought us here thus far, on little or much faith, we offer our praises to Him and faith is strengthened. We can know that He will see us thru right till the end. Praise God! Grace will lead us home!! Praise is trust in His work expressed in action.

This is a great guideline that was in the e-mail today, so passing it on:

Command 7 : Do Not Lust | Day 46

Win With a New Focus!
When Jesus saw a woman, He did not lust after her. We know this because He “was tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). What then did Jesus "see" when He looked at a woman? He looked past her outward appearance and into her heart. This is consistent with the nature of God:

“Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart” (I Samuel 16:7).

Based on the responses that Jesus had in His contacts with women, we can draw the following applications to the needs we should focus on when we see a woman, especially a woman with immodest dress or appearance:

  1. Think of her father, who has a God-given responsibility to train and protect her. How can we help him fulfill this responsibility? (Matthew 9:18)
  2. Imagine the concerned mother who will grieve over a daughter who is not protecting her purity and will feel a special sense of guilt and rejection. (Matthew 15:22)
  3. Realize the deep and destructive sense of guilt and shame that comes from past immorality, often accompanied by a corresponding bitterness toward all men for their part in causing it. (Luke 7:37-38)
  4. Be sensitive to a multitude of personal pressures and anxieties that women often bring upon themselves because of self-imposed goals or lists of things to do. (Luke 10:38-40)
  5. Understand the deep need in every woman to be trained in God's truths that will satisfy her inward longing for a personal relationship with her Creator. (Luke 10:39)
  6. Discern the underlying needs for love and acceptance, and look for ways to give rather than to get. (John 4:7)
Job had a powerful answer for lust: “I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” (Job 31:1)

God boasted to Satan about Job, “Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” (Job 1:8). The covenant Job made with his eyes not to lust after women was a key factor in his moral integrity.

Let's make a similar covenant with our eyes right now. Then when we see a woman and are tempted to lust, we can immediately pray for God to protect her and carry out His will in her life, so that she can become the Godly woman He designed her to be.

“And if thy right eye offend thee [concerning lust], pluck it out, and cast it from thee ...” (Matthew 5:29-30).

No one except Jesus Himself alone
should remain in the New Testament. He is today's Moses,
imparting the law of life into His believers, and also today's
Elijah, speaking for God and speaking forth God within His
believers.

Philippians 1:9-11
So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover's life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.

Galatians 5:22-23
But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

Colossians 1:5
Working in His Orchard
3-5Our prayers for you are always spilling over into thanksgivings. We can't quit thanking God our Father and Jesus our Messiah for you! We keep getting reports on your steady faith in Christ, our Jesus, and the love you continuously extend to all Christians. The lines of purpose in your lives never grow slack, tightly tied as they are to your future in heaven, kept taut by hope.

5-8The Message is as true among you today as when you first heard it. It doesn't diminish or weaken over time. It's the same all over the world. The Message bears fruit and gets larger and stronger, just as it has in you. From the very first day you heard and recognized the truth of what God is doing, you've been hungry for more. It's as vigorous in you now as when you learned it from our friend and close associate Epaphras. He is one reliable worker for Christ! I could always depend on him. He's the one who told us how thoroughly love had been worked into your lives by the Spirit.

James 2:21
21-24Wasn't our ancestor Abraham "made right with God by works" when he placed his son Isaac on the sacrificial altar? Isn't it obvious that faith and works are yoked partners, that faith expresses itself in works? That the works are "works of faith"? The full meaning of "believe" in the Scripture sentence, "Abraham believed God and was set right with God," includes his action. It's that mesh of believing and acting that got Abraham named "God's friend." Is it not evident that a person is made right with God not by a barren faith but by faith fruitful in works?

Jude 1:12
12-13These people are warts on your love feasts as you worship and eat together. They're giving you a black eye—carousing shamelessly, grabbing anything that isn't nailed down. They're—
Puffs of smoke pushed by gusts of wind;
late autumn trees stripped clean of leaf and fruit,
Doubly dead, pulled up by the roots;
wild ocean waves leaving nothing on the beach
but the foam of their shame;
Lost stars in outer space
on their way to the black hole.

Revelation 2:7
7"Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. I'm about to call each conqueror to dinner. I'm spreading a banquet of Tree-of-Life fruit, a supper plucked from God's orchard."

Revelation 22
1-5 Then the Angel showed me Water-of-Life River, crystal bright. It flowed from the Throne of God and the Lamb, right down the middle of the street. The Tree of Life was planted on each side of the River, producing twelve kinds of fruit, a ripe fruit each month. The leaves of the Tree are for healing the nations. Never again will anything be cursed. The Throne of God and of the Lamb is at the center. His servants will offer God service—worshiping, they'll look on his face, their foreheads mirroring God. Never again will there be any night. No one will need lamplight or sunlight. The shining of God, the Master, is all the light anyone needs. And they will rule with him age after age after age.

Amen Christ Jesus, so be it.

A principal should never vary because the principal is the substance and precepts as stepping-stone-shadows bring one to an understanding of the principal, the line to the Father is found there.
I’m of the opinion that what is said to women is representative of what is said to the church. The depth of teaching is found therein.
It’s never found in a cursory reading of customs in comparison to precepts-axioms.

The soul, with all it’s power to praise our covenant God, manifests/is made real in all His benefits, each awakening in the soul a new praise in the realization of the joy that is the power of the world to come, fully, with bodily healing Hebrews 11:5 The bodily condition being the sign of the spiritual in the world that the curse upon the ground has been removed. Psalms 103, Isaiah 65:22 The scales of justice finding their balance.

Redemption is the key, and the only key, to unlock the treasure from the shadows, and lifts into the joy that was previously superseded by sadness. Unbelieving superstitions (not suspicions) (stupid auto correct) find their barking place in laws of nature as the science of the day. But ….. that is yesterday and yesterday’s gone.
Today …. Psalms 103:17-21, Psalms 107:23-31 … is thru redemption in Christ’s work.

With the objective doing comes the subjective being of a human. Being subjective is about will in obedience to that which is in being with a servant, the example of Christ.
His mind was set on being willing to set apart equality with God to portray voluntary submission toward mankind, in a negation of selfishness on His part.

His form matched equality in every way but the will, which was given over to a higher power for the purpose of finding joy in the hope that had been set before Him. 2 Corinthians 2:14-16 ,John 12:3 The mind of Christ is active as a servant but passive toward the Father. From the least to the greatest. Therein is the humility of Christ found and revealed in the kenosis.

Christ’s chosen humanity style, so chosen, can only be termed in lesser forms. In the continuity of self-examination thru changes, the personality continues the same as the sanctified and the sanctifier are one, emphasizing the life of the servant. In doing so room is made for voluntary perseverance not to exert equality to a God-head that Christ Himself emptied Himself of. Voluntary submission is the very idea of human nature. In queuing our own actions it results in a free agent linked to the science of the reward system.

Applying to Jesus for a job

It doesn't pay much. In fact Jesus tells us to consider the cost. And it's a 24/7 occupation that is accomplished in being a human rather than a human doing. Being a human constitutes being an awareness of what we have been taken ahold of for, and to run in such a way as to finish the race.

Luke 14:27-29
And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple. Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it? Otherwise, if he lays the foundation and is unable to finish the work, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,…
Philippians 3:12
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been perfected, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

I like how Paul defines it in Colossians 2 poor misunderstood man
`I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally.

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.

For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

Spiritual Fullness in Christ

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,
rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.
In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ,
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,
having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
Freedom From Human Rules (manmade)

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.
They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules:
“Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”?

These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

Humiliation of Christ was accomplished by His humility. I don’t believe the Father conducts His business any other way. Favouritism like that of hating Esua and loving Jacob seemed to be a simulation began with Isaac and Ishmael.

Brought to mind by the Holy Spirit

ETA It releaves my mind to realize that what the flesh is to shadow the spirit is to completion. Getting hung up on terms that are axioms leading away from the principal. Those who turn away from idols compared to those who see no idol, just instant gratification of elementary things that are hare today and goon tomorrow.
ETA the object of that is to see nothing according to the flesh anymore.
ETA ETA ETA Once again proving that it is the quickening of the Spirit that raises one up, not the exalting of one’s self.
