In desperate times-when I really desperate- I have asked God for help, but He never helps. I have begged please help me I cannot take it anymore, but I have also just asked for strength and the ability to trust, however it never helps.
Or maybe I am too impatient, wanting help immediately. But that is part of my problems that I feel so anxious and I feel like there is no tomorrow.
I often pray please give me strength to change or to handle this but He doesn't help and I feel really left alone.
Why does He not give me strength to handle things better?

God will never give you strength to handle things. He gives us Jesus, who has endured all things for our sake and will be our strength if we ask Him. God is not interested in changing you. You are beyond repair. God has, through Christ's death, caused us to die to the old nature. Then He rose from the dead to give us new life. Trying to patch up the old life will never work. When we let the Lord Jesus live in our place, we will know His victory, His overcoming, His patience, his joy and everything else that we need. Many people suffer because they do not understand God's ways. Many people want God's help but they do not want God Himself. It does not work that way. John 12:25
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

John 15:19
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 Corinthians 4:11
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; 12 And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: 13 Being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the off scouring of all things unto this day. 14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you."

Matthew 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:20
“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. 24 “But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. 26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

2 Corinthians 12:10
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Matthew 10:22
You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith

1 Thessalonians 3:7
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8 For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.

Some good testimonies to the OP lamentation here! God is ever ready to help, but ONLY on His terms: He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life, as the Bible clearly teaches (note John 3:16). God's Word (not our reasoning) is the way to salvation and eternal blessings. One should study the four Gospels, and not just reason about God.

Good verses, Ricky!

Hang in there even if you feel like letting go, it will get better. I meditate on bible verses( the ones listed here by Ricky M are a good start, when I feel down, I also try finding the smallest blessings in my life (friends, family, a job, a new relationship or act of kindness) any tiny resource of hope. look for them they are there. recently when i was feeling beaten down, like I couldn't take it anymore, I thought about Jesus and what he had to endure (the scourging). before being NAILed to the cross For us/YOU/me. to save us from our sins! He knew what he was going to have to go through the night before this was to happen. He Prayed to god to please let the cup pass him so he didnt have to go through what he had to go through! He was so stressed He sweated Blood! Jesus prayed when he felt weak! But now he sits next to gods throne! can you imagine knowing the savage beating you were going to have take, the torture. it Made me respect jesus, and love him more. It made me realize what im going through is a fraction of what he had been put through. I take comfort knowing Jesus knows what you/we are going through, he knows your despair. so when he says "Do not be afraid, for I am with you." I believe him. Take Heart, meditate on Jesus' love. It's going to be alright. God Bless you!

if you have already sincerly accepted Christ in your heart (Jesus knows if were serious or not) so you must accept him with a sincere heart then draw closer to him and he will draw closer to you , mant people try to use the lord like a object they will only pray or seek him when they need something .... thats not how you go about getting your prayers answered .... you must develope a daily personal relationship with him ... reading of his word, praying daily, stay in constant communication with him throughout the day just talk to him you can do this in your heart ... surround yourself with the things of Christ God wants a full-time relationship with you not just weekend visits thru church service **** by doing these things you will find strength and security in Christ ... also you need to pray for Jesus to strength or increase your faith .... faith is believing in the unseen things **** hope this helped

You must trust God completely and know every prayer you say is answered instantly. Think that your prayers are already answered and you already have power of God in yourself.

May I suggest that you have received the strength to copy and that you are trusting in God.

It may not feel like you have the strength but you get through each moment.
If you are not trusting in God, just what are you trusting in?

I am not being funny or sarcastic, from my own experience coping when life kicks one in the teeth and stamps on one is never easy. I only got through my own troubled time because I, like you chose to trust God. It is not easy putting one's trust in God, but it is doable and it will get you through each moment.

I know exactly what that feels like. I myself have questioned if God cares about me and if he really does answer prayer. The conclusion I came to is that God always does answer, he could say yes, he could say no, and he could be saying wait. We have no idea what his plans are, or the bigger picture. It's times like this where we have to have faith. I hope this helps you...
