"If this is the best they [Ds] have..." (RE 2020 candidates)

This comment by an opinionator (as I call them) on Fox News made me laugh bc.. it was right after showing some clip of Biden saying yet another ODD thing..

I can't understand why any thinking person would vote for Biden...

so strange.......

He doesn't steal.
He's not a habitual liar.
He has never been hauled into court for fraud and forced to pay back the money he defrauded.
He didn't betray three wives, one after the other.
He doesn't barge into dressing rooms filled with underage girls.
He doesn't brag about getting away with sexual assault.
He doesn't have to pay inappropriate content stars hush money to save his election chances.
He doesn't try to use his office to force foreign governments to give him political favors.
He doesn't advocate "taking guns first, and worry about due process later."
He doesn't make creepy sexual comments about a daughter.

Granted that Trump has kind of lowered the bar for electability.

so strange.......

That's the kind of president we have now.

I couldn't get beyond this part of your post...

ha ha... I'm still (sorta) laughing

Biden said things like the following

I didn't know my son was [corrupt... working for Burisma..]
I didn't tell Obama not to go after bin Laden

and then there is this:

He claims to be a Catholic. THAT is the biggest lie of all. Catholics are automatically excommunicated from the Church if they promote abortion. You cannot be Catholic and pro abortion @ the same time..

and he has changed many of his beliefs / positions on this or that issue based on the fact that he knew the D party was/is going WAY leftward..

he is the typical politician who says whatever he thinks he must say in order to get elected.

I didn't tell Obama not to get bin Laden (but yeh, he did tell him that)

then there are the other candidates

healthcare for all, regardless of the cost to the taxpayer, regardless of losing insurance companies.. regardless of the government take over an entire industry..

geez... yeh, I don't think Trump will have a problem 2020

Biden said things like the following

Your first error is to confuse Trump's habitual lying with normal human behavior. Almost everyone lies occasionally. but the second error...

I didn't know my son was [corrupt... working for Burisma..]

To be fair, no one else knows it, either. As you learned earlier, there's no evidence of corruption in anything he did.

I didn't tell Obama not to go after bin Laden

Well, let's see what he actually said:
"I said we owe the man a direct answer. Mr. President, my suggestion is, don’t go -- we have to do two more things to see if he’s there."

I'm sure you didn't intend to be deceptive; I'm sure you didn't know that he merely said that there were two more things to do before going in. But you need to be more careful who you trust.

and then there is this:

He claims to be a Catholic. THAT is the biggest lie of all. Catholics are automatically excommunicated from the Church if they promote abortion.

Many, and in some Western countries most, Catholics hold views on abortion that differ from the official position of the Catholic Church, which opposes abortion and its legality; with views ranging from allowing exceptions in a generally anti-abortion position to acceptance of complete legality[6][7][8][9][10] and morality[11] of abortion.
Catholic Church and abortion - Wikipedia

If he was to promote abortion, he'd no longer be Catholic. As you now realize, many Catholics regrettably do not fully agree with the Church on abortion.

He does agree with the Church on things like honesty, fidelity in marriage, equality among humans and all those other things that Trump despises and violates.

You just made my point for me, better than I made it for myself.

President Trump on the other hand does seem pretty worried about it, worried enough that he got himself impeached over it.
tulc(never gets tired of watching President Trump supporters claim to "not be worried about 2020" it sounds a little more desperate every time it's said) ;)

Getting re-elected is now a key part of his plan to stay out of jail.

State-level charges have an extra level of jeopardy because Trump cannot be pardoned for them by a president.
...
So, for Trump, much more is riding on the next election than remaining in office. The five-year federal statute of limitations applies to obstruction of justice, and obstructing a federal investigation is not a state crime, which means that a reelected President Trump could not be prosecuted for his obstruction in 2017 until he left office in January 2025, which is over two years after the statute of limitations would run.

The 2020 stakes could not be higher for him.
