Do most Christians end up in Hell?

Well, plenty of them do, according to reliable sources. The Catholic Church teaches that you do not have to believe everything a canonized saint says (to be in good standing w/ the Church) but the saints are nonetheless believable, as they adhered to the teachings of Christ diligently... Many of the canonized saints have said that very, very few Christians make it to Heaven. One of them said the reason is that many attain to BELIEF but do not go much beyond that (words to that effect).

But I have been to non-Catholic websites as well, where people claim they have been to Hell and seen what it is like. Do I believe everything I see on the i-net? No... but some of it is believable in that it does not contradict Scripture, and even affirms it.

i recall this one story in particular about a woman who was a "devout Christian" until she found out about her husband's affair. True, this story is not the best example (a little extreme because) she killed the woman involved.. and she must not have repented (?) because she ended up in Hell.

A more reliable account was one in which there were seen in Hell false preachers who led congregations (they were pastors) but taught LIES, things that contradict Christ and His Word.. things like "once saved always saved"

So, yeh... We don't always know what to believe

but... Who is going to take chances?

The floor of hell is paved with the skulls of priests.

First you need to realise that only about 5% of Church goers are Christians. King David committed adultery and murdered to cover it up. Did he end up in hell?

Tell me, is eternal life eternal? Or not? If you are born again, you have eternal life. That is life that cannot die. The confusion comes because people do not know what "salvation" is all about. Jesus made it clear that He would not lose any that He saved. If salvation depends on us, we are all in trouble. My Bible tells me that salvation is of our God.

The part of us that is born again is the spirit man. There is another salvation, the salvation of the soul. It starts when we get born again and continues until we go to be with the Lord. Some Christians cooperate with God more fully and receive a greater degree of salvation of the soul. You can't get any more born again!

Not really our job to know. Our job is to reach out and help the ones we can. Nothing we can do about it except that anyway.

Absolutely NOT!!! NO Christians end up in HELL!!!

Lots of folks who CLAIM to be Christian, but aren't wind up there, though.

There ARE Born Again Christian Catholics, of course. And there are others who are nothing more than "Religious Catholics" who, upon finding themselves in "Purgatory" will quickly learn that it's actually HELL, and they're never getting out - One last joke on 'em by satan.

Here's the thing about who and who doesn't go to hell: It's not our job to know or judge. In other words, it's none of our business. Paul says that exactly. Our judgement does not make determinations about who goes to hell, but who in the church is not producing good fruit.

1 Corinthians 5:12
"What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

No, most Christians do not end up in Hell; if they do, then to couch the semantics of the term "Christian" in this way is to confuse what the term even refers to.

that is not true. As it says in Revelation, a person's whose name is written in the Book of Life can have his name "blotted out" of that Book.

once saved always saved is NOT in the Bible and in fact the Bible refutes it. It is a doctrine of demons, to keep people from doing what is required to get into Heaven. Satan is smarter than any of us and he usually wins bc he knows how to tell these lies and keep us believing them

I believe most Christians do. And I do not base this position of mine on just the Bible or Church teaching or what have you but on personal experience. I don't see a lot of Christians doing things Jesus said.

Example: Jesus said whatever u do to his people you do to HIM but I see Christians treated extremely badly by other "Christians"... long story, not inclined to tell certain personal stories here on I-net

Don't we all fail? You never fail at being a "Christian"?

Example: Jesus said whatever u do to his people you do to HIM but I see Christians treated extremely badly by other "Christians"... long story, not inclined to tell certain personal stories here on I-net
Yes, this is true. Some people who say they're Christian mistreat other people who also claim to be Christian. But I think you and I both know that it's one thing to let fall from our lips the claim "I'm a Christian" versus the person who says, I care and in the name of Christ I offer you my care and service. Right?

I very rarely say "I am a Christian" --only when necessary. I try, however, to let my actions speak for themselves. As St Francis said "Preach the Gospel.. and when necessary, use words"

sometimes words are necessary, to be sure. But people do look at our actions. very few people SEE my actions throughout the day because.. well, actually, there are many reasons.. I think some Christians assume I don't do much of anything but I just let them go ahead and assume such. I feel I am doing at least some of what the Lord wants (evangelizing, albeit in ways they may wonder about.. but I let God guide me.. or try to let Him.. )

anyway, where was I?

oh, about failing. Yeh, we all fail.. we are so human. But God is our judge, so I try not to worry.......

Ok. That's great to hear! It sounds like we're on similar spiritual 'pages' as far as what it means to be a Christian. We both know, as do quite a many fellow Christians, that Jesus has given warnings to those who follow Him that there can be various consequences for us if we become spiritually negligent. However, despite Jesus' warnings to everyone, I'm not under the impression that when He says, "Many are called but few are chosen" that this means that many who try to be Christian will, in fact, fail. No, I rather think it means that many we hear of Jesus, hear about Jesus, and even response to some degree to Jesus but, as in the Parable of the Sower, won't actually follow through in maintaining their following of Christ.

But anyway, feel free to disagree. I'm not the type who will hold it too strictly against a fellow Christian who disagrees with me. Rather, I'd just encourage him or her to keep reading God's Word, keep studying, keep being a Christian and keep praying.

0 Christians end up in hell

but most people who claim to be Christians really aren't one to being with

simple way to check if som1 is Christian is to ask where they going if they die tonight if person can't answer hes not Christian in my eyes.

Exception is mentally ill people and kids

1 John 5:13
These things I have written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God.

John 10:27-28 King James Version (KJV)
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
