I think they limit themselves as to what stories they will carry and which ones they will not.

What is best is that they are believable (at least most of the time?)

But it seems they do not carry many stories about how the state is oppressing some of its citizens.. There was that story yrs ago about the IRS going after that ... I think it was called True the Vote

but other than that...

I want to know about the corruption in DC-- but I think a lot of the time, Fox does that kind of story when there really is nothing "news" going on RE that story... I mean, Barr hasn't issued his report and etc... but they keep talking about it anyway, rather than some other interesting story that IS news to most viewers

That kind of blow by blow, minutiae-saturated stories.. tend to make a person tune out, so that doesn'tseem to be a good business tactic, if nothing else

News Guard has rated Fox News as reliable and trustworthy. Indeed, their news coverage is pretty decent.

But Fox News is still corporate journalism. There are certain hands they know better than to bite.

Separately, during the George W. years, Fox News was inexcusably pro-Iraq war and their opinion pieces made no bones about that. The voting bloc which could've done the most to stop (or at least slow down) that disastrous, wholly unnecessary war was thus led to believe that America's actions were just, when the truth is America's actions were anything but just.

Still, the bright side to that seems to be that the American right has learned its lesson. In spite of the best efforts of Fox News, the American right seems to have settled into a broad preference for no more wars and concluding the wars we're presently engaged in. That started under George W., went into the Barack years and continues even now under President Trump.

All in all, Fox News is probably better than the alternative. But not by much, sadly.

If you want the the trash on Trump, exaggerations, and sometimes flat out lies, you'll love cnn, msmbc.

If you want what they overlook and will not cover concerning politics you'll find it on Fox. Also sometimes exaggerated.

The most trusted name in news is a joke, I find Fox much more trustworthy.

cnn and msnbc simply will not cover corruption in DC, unless it involves Trump or ties to Trump. Fox will cover it when the facts are there. The problem is, the facts seem very elusive. Case in point: Biden and his son and the Ukraine thing. If Trump doesn't call on Barr to investigate, guess what, we will never know the truth.

But if Trump calls on Barr to investigate, cnn and msnbc are happy to report that Trump is up to his old tricks.

The best of Fox News have been leaving, though a few good journalist still remain. The worst of Fox News are their political pundits, Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham.

I think Carlson does a good job pointing out the left's hypocrisy.

Hannity always takes up for the president.

Ingraham does some of both.

By being a hypocrite.

Birds of a feather... Liars.

I'd take Chris Wallace, one of the few on Fox willing to tell the truth.
I like Chris Wallace too! He does present the truth.

I watch his show every Sunday. He doesn't give much of his opinion, but enough for me to pretty much figure out he's a Dem. But I still think highly of him and like him.

I agree he does have the best show on Fox.

Chris Wallace isn't a Democrat. He may be a never Trump Republican but he isn't a Dem.

Shep was pretty good. Catherine Herridge was good. Bret Bauer isn't bad and a few others aren't bad but reporters keep leaving because too many toss facts out the window.

yes, i know, which is why i hate cnn and co.

they are HYPOCRisy on steroids. Biden does what looks like a clear quid pro quo involving something he and his family benefit from $$ wise.. brags about it but nothing is done.. story NOT told except on Fox.
Trump is accused of same and there is nothing remotely like it to be found.

If something is not done, i say we are no better than any other country... no better @ all

although Hannity is my favorite. For one, i have never heard him say anything snarky about poor people.

Wallace has registered as Democrat but says he votes for either Democrats or Republicans for President.

well, maybe that's why i am not crazy about him bc he seems to lean D

I myself? I would never vote for a D because they are not pro life. The gov of LA is a RARE exception. But I probably wouldn't vote for a pro life D over a pro life R because i don't like D's economic policies...

one thing I like about Fox is that all the shows are (at least a little) different. So Hannity is different (focuses on different things) than Special Report w/ Bret Baier, etc...

so Tucker Carlson disagrees w/ most others on Fox (or seems to, I haven't listened to "most others" of late) RE the killing of the terrorist Soleimani or however its spelled

What is it with Mr. Carlson?

it goes w/o saying all of us are against war. But it's like this

you love peace & quiet
your neighbor has loud parties at night that wake up out of your sleep. Do you just put up with that? And of course other neibhors are awakened in th middle of the night so you care not only about your own sanity and etc.. but that of others.

not the best analogy perhaps because this was a mass murderer

Tucker seems to believe there is no such thing as a just war. Well, if someone declared war on HIM and invaded his house, he may have a different perspective.

maybe he is just selfish: Hey, I am living well, who cares about those people in other countries (who btw were CHEERING when this murderer's reign of terror was ended by the USA military. Thank you, US military. God bless all those who serve.
