I have consistently been confused and holding on for dear life. I have given my confusion to God so many times over the last 6 months, but, he still isn’t helping me to clear this confusion or explain how to do ‘this’

I’ll give a very short summary. God came to get me 19 yrs ago and for the last 19 yrs, God has fed me w/ feelings 24/7 and I had experienced, ‘changes’ within myself as I had come to know as tests. My first test was in 2015. At the end of that, he gave me a lifted feeling which I had 24/7 for 4 yrs. I’ve gone thru 3 hard spiritual tests/changes in 2019. This latest one has lasted 5 weeks where he’s been ‘changing’ me inwardly but he’s taking all feelings away.

This morning I woke up, and I’m assuming the test is over, however, I feel spiritually weak and defeated. I cried out to God before asking him what am I supposed to do and how am I supposed to do this. Was met by silence.

I am literally confused as to how to stay faithful by praying at night and in the morning and just do whatever needs to be done during the day and stay faithful. My mind is totally confused and I’ve asked God over and over again to remove this confusion and to help me understand how to stay faithful w/o feeling anything and now this today. Overly confused, no more changes and I’m 100% stuck.

Our feelings are not how we judge God's presence in our lives. He is there no matter how we feel. It is up to us to acknowledge His presence regardless of how we feel.

Lack of feelings/emotions is a significant sign of medical depression. God can be there even as we are battling medical issues. Maybe it is time to consider a doctor appointment where you also mention this new lack of emotions/feelings and "low" state.

Also, I have found the real tests of faith are when we don't feel God and have to operate with complete faith. I am there right now too. I will pray for you that you find your way.

John 12:25

Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

John 15:19

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

James 4:4

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:15

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 Corinthians 4:11

Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; 12 And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: 13 Being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the off scouring of all things unto this day. 14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you."

Matthew 5:3

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:20

“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. 24 “But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. 26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

2 Corinthians 12:10

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Matthew 10:22

You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Philippians 1:21

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith

1 Thessalonians 3:7

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8 For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.

That feeling that you don't belong in this world? It's because you don't belong to this world. Paul wanted to move on, but chose to remain. God says above all perseverance is the key. It's a war of attrition, with the benefit of knowing who wins in the end. May that be our strength in a life time of trial.

I appreciate your feedback but what I’m going thru is all spiritually related. Only 1 pastor understood it when he was asked if he knew of people experiencing ‘changes’ everyday. He said it’s a real thing and he’s known a few people who have experienced that. It’s a spiritual test and the only thing you can do is persevere and ride it out. I’m trying to persevere but it’s dragged on for 5 weeks already which is the longest I’ve had one of these tests. Yes it’s frustrating and depressing and overwhelming. It’s hard... I have absolutely no idea what God is trying to tell or show me. I’ve prayed do much these past several weeks, yet, am met with silence. No answers except that I’ll know when this test is over.

The test won't be over until you are caught up to be with the Lord. In fact it's only going to get worse until then. All we can do is put on our armor and fight the good fight.

Praying for you! Sometimes our emotional discomfort is the flesh at war with the spirit. I know for myself that I wish I can experience joy all day but I also struggle with sadness. I take the sadness now as a way of being poor in spirit and realize that I need God in my weakness. For when we are weak he is strong. Keep fighting and by the power of the Holy Spirit you will overcome!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns with us. I’m truly sorry for the situation you are going through. It seems that you are going through a lot right now. Let me tell you my friend that you are important , valuable and worth of fighting for. I think you need to have clear understanding where is confusion come from? The confusion does not come from God but since the fall that Adam and Eve we have learn the spiritual enemy of God and all of us, is father of lies and confusion. I would like to share with you this verses from the Book of Ephesians 6, 12-13: For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and the ruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens. That is why you must take up all God's armor, or you will not be able to put up any resistance on the evil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the full. Have you considered of seeking Christian counseling? Christian counseling or therapy works through things like this You are valuable and worthy of fighting for. It is important that you discover if is this something psychological, mental or spiritual. That’s why it is good that you take out an appointment with the psychologist first to determine what is the nature of your feelings. I think that might help in this journey to clarify your feelings. Let me tell you my friend that faith is not a feeling. Faith is to believe in things that we cannot see. Faith is to make a decision for God everyday. I encourage you at the same time to keep in prayer in the morning, during the day and at night. That will help you also in this process. It is true if you keep praying Psalms and reading the New Testament in the Bible that also will help you to heal your wounds. I encourage you that you do not let to put too much attention on feelings and emotions. Let me tell you my friend that you cannot always trust in your feelings. These are only temporary. However, God’s love is permanent, faithful and forever. Hang it there! Please do not feel discourage if you do not see results immediately! I encourage you to give this battle to Jesus, that He is in charge of this situation and He puts you the right persons that can help you with this issue. Please pray with all your heart that Jesus can give you more humility and patience during this spiritual journey. I hope this helps. Sending you hugs. I will keep you in my prayers, my friend in Christ. God bless you!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Believe it or not, I’m still going thru this trial and it’s been 9 weeks so far. It’s debilitating to me. God often has given me his peace throughout the day but especially at night, he gives me deep peace. I have prayed often. I know everyone is saying I shouldn’t base things on my emotions, but.. this is how God got a hold of me 19 yrs ago and he’s continually been feeding my emotions still throughout these 9 weeks through the changes. This is spiritual, very much so. My mom’s pastor knows other Christians who were like me and experienced changes and just exactly what I’m going thru. It’s definitely a spiritual attack that God is allowing for whatever reason. Sometimes I pray and ask God to continue changing me. Sometimes he listens and does it right away and other times, he waits a bit before giving me another change. It’s extremely difficult and today is by far the hardest ever...

Spiritual tests don’t last forever. They’re in place to grow us into a new level of maturity and relationship with God. I’m still in the midst of mine. 9 weeks so far. Prior to this, the last one lasted 1 month and I knew when it was over. This isn’t over yet but I’m hoping it’ll come to an end soon

God bless you with the answers you are seeking and remove the confusion. Perhaps God is teaching you patience to "wait upon the LORD" The one thing I have learned over the years, that often what we ask for doesn't come right away, it is on God's timing and sometimes that seems to take a long time. In the meantime, keep close to him, stay focused on him and don't give up.

LORD, You know this one's heart and you know her needs, please strengthen her to wait upon You and give her the peace to wait till the answers come, In Jesus Name, Amen
