What kind of gifts does He give His adopted children?

Matthew 7
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Matthew 21
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

James 1
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Do we create our own faith or does it come from God?

John 15
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Who causes the branch to bear fruit?

1 Corinthians 3
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

Philippians 2
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Will Jesus stay with His sheep?

Deuteronomy 31
8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

David bore testimony:

Psalm 23
1{A Psalm of David.} The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

John 10
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

People without works have dead faith:

(New Testament | Hebrews 11:6)

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(New Testament | James 2:14 - 17)

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

We are rewarded for obedience to the laws. Fasting gives us greater power:

(New Testament | Matthew 17:18 - 21)

18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

(New Testament | Matthew 6:30 - 33)

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

(New Testament | Acts 6:7 - 8)

7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Some people believe that everything is given to them and all they need to do is believe. Is believing enough:

(New Testament | James 2:19)

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

(New Testament | Matthew 25:29 - 40)

29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 ¶ When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

God does not give dead faith, we already have little faith and have to work at increasing out faith.

If God wants to save a particular person, He will give that person a vibrant faith. He equips His followers.

Philippians 4
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

(The glory always goes to God)

2 Corinthians 1
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

1 Chronicles 29
10 Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. 11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. 15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. 16 O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.

Psalm 79
9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

(The goodness we receive is always for God's glory, not ours!)

Jesus walks with us. We share His yoke.

Matthew 11:29
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

What is an ox?
Oxen are usually male cattle. They go through extensive training starting when they are very young to teach them how to pull heavy loads and listen to their human handlers – called drovers or teamsters. They don’t actually earn the title of “ox” until they have been through four years of this training! Until then, the calves are often called “working steers”.

Training starts when they are only a few weeks old, as they learn to be comfortable around people. The first step in an ox’s training doesn’t involve any work at all, but there is still a lot for the young calves to learn. They are taught to wear a halter and how to walk calmly on a lead rope. They learn that humans bring yummy food and soothing brushes and petting. Soon they look forward to seeing their teamsters because of the good things those people bring and do for them.
Training New Oxen

Submission (I :heart:love this!)
The real struggle is that submitting requires trust and humility…to trust that God isn’t an angry slave master and that we aren’t very good at being our own Gods. That is why God sent His Son. Christ submitted himself to God, becoming man, so that He could yoke together with each of us. That is how we know that He is a loving and patient teacher, worthy of our trust. Because God doesn’t just want to drive the plow, He wants to work the field with us.
The best part of being yoked to Christ is that He is able and willing to do the heavy lifting. In the picture above, you can see two oxen who are obviously not equals in size. It is common for farmers to train younger oxen by yoking them with a fully grown ox. The younger ox doesn’t pull any weight, but learns to walk under the yoke, as his bigger brother pulls the weight. The same is true with Christ. That is why we can “find rest” and why our burdens become lighter and easier. He takes the weight upon himself and teaches us to follow as we grow.

God gives to those who LOVE Him and keeps His commandments:

(Old Testament | Deuteronomy 5:10)

10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

Faith must be earned:

(New Testament | Hebrews 11:1 - 25)

1 NOW faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Your opening statement of this post answers your OP.

IF God wants to save a particular person, He will give that person a vibrant faith.

The opposite, then has to be true. IF God does not want to save a particular person, He will not give that person a vibrant faith.

IOW God will give a person dead faith.

Do you see PhoebeAnn that in your religion, God is everything, and does everything.

1) he brings a person to believe in Jesus.
2) he brings a person an active, vibrant faith.
3) he saves that person, no matter what, in his kingdom with eternal life.

So, if God does everything for some people, and saves them, He also has to do nothing for some other people who are not saved. Right?

So there is the answer to your OP question. God will save who he will, and he will not save who he will. And to those he chooses not to save, he sends them a dead faith. You cannot have it just one way? God is either in charge or he is not? For those saved, as well as those not saved.

What makes you think you can be as righteous as God? What makes you think a temple Mormon is more righteous than another Mormon or a non-Mormon?

Name one single sinner who deserves salvation. Just one.

Romans 9
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Will you...
Tell us that your false god is righteous and ours is not? Tell us that your false god helps the disobedient? Tell us that our God's decisions are of Satan? Tell us that your leaders are called of God and non-Mormon leaders are not? Tell us that your missionaries are sent out to bring non-Mormons to Christ?

You said: "Your false god expects people to EARN their blessings. His word says eternal life is a gift."

Yes it is a gift and the gift is given to those who LOVE Jesus and keep His commandments:

(Old Testament | Deuteronomy 5:10)

10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

You said: "Name one single sinner who deserves salvation. Just one."

There aren't any who deserve Christ's atonement, but there are those who are more deserving than others. Certainly those who turn away from sin and wickedness and diligently seek God and His righteousness are more worthy. There are those who do not LOVE God and do not obey Him.

(New Testament | Matthew 6:33)

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

(New Testament | Romans 1:16 - 22)

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

(New Testament | Ephesians 5:1 - 12)

1 BE ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Why does a Christian love God? The Bible has the answer.

1 John 4
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

He doesn't love us because we first loved Him!

Why did God forgive us?

For Christ's sake. Not because we earned it.

Ephesians 4
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27Neither give place to the devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Did we cause God to love us?

Titus 3
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Once we come to love Him, nothing He asks will seem hard. We take His yoke upon us.

What makes you think you can be as righteous as God? What makes you think a temple Mormon is more righteous than another Mormon or a non-Mormon?

Because the bible tells us too:
Matthew 5:48 King James Version (KJV)
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

1 Peter 1:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Romans 8:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

2 Peter 1:3-4 King James Version (KJV)
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue,
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

These scriptures teach us that we can become just like Jesus, and when we do this and overcome this world then this happens:
Revelation 3:21 King James Version (KJV)
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

If we are sitting with Jesus in his throne, what do you think that means? It means we are just like him.

Our potential is unlimited.

Your false god expects people to EARN their blessings. The Bible says eternal life is a gift.

God is not going to give you the gift of eternal life if you are a perverted murderer and rapist no matter how many time you say "I believe in Jesus".

Name one single sinner who deserves salvation. Just one.

I could name many of the men in the scriptures that are sinners, but are worthy of salvation.
All people who believe in Jesus and follow him and do what he has before ordained you to do, and endure to the end, and overcome this world, deserve the gift of eternal life. In these cases, Jesus will by his grace, lift them up, cleanse them of any sins and give them the gift of eternal life.

Will you...
1) Tell us that your false god is righteous and ours is not? 2)Tell us that your false god helps the disobedient? 3)Tell us that our God's decisions are of Satan? 4)Tell us that your leaders are called of God and non-Mormon leaders are not? 5)Tell us that your missionaries are sent out to bring non-Mormons to Christ?

Answer to #:
1) No, they are the same God.
2) Yes he does, until the disobedient prove to be unrepentant. At some point he cuts their branch off and taken away, not to have eternal life.
John 15:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
15 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

A branch that is "in me" or "in Jesus", that does not do what Jesus has before ordained them to do, will be cut off and taken away and will lose their eternal life, unless they repent and start bearing fruit. "bearing fruit is another word for following Jesus and doing what he wishes us to do).
3) No they are not, since we have the same God.
4) All leaders are where they need to be, per God. For instance, it would be much more difficult to bring people to Christ if they have never heard about Christ. So the Christian churches around the world help our missionaries get people ready for our message. It is much easier to teach someone the gospel, when they have at least a minimum knowledge of Jesus. So God puts people in leadership positions for a reason. In our church as well as in other Christian churches.
5) Absolutely yes. To a higher understanding of Christ, and a higher committment to Christ and bearing fruit for Christ.

Phoebe Ann says:

He NEVER gives anyone dead faith.

Then he does not give anyone active, vibrant, live faith either.

You cannot have it one way. Either Jesus is in charge and he saves who he will, and he does not save who he does not want to save, or he is not really in charge.

Jesus cannot unilaterally just save who he will. Because in doing that he automatically leaves out a whole lot of people.

So the answer is: Jesus saves those who hear him calling them and they follow his example and do what he wants them to do. Any other person who rejects his calling to them, and rejects him outright, or by their actions they reject him, he will not save. It is very simple and sublime.

Yes we take His yoke upon us through obedience and works:

(New Testament | Hebrews 5:9)

9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

(New Testament | Matthew 5:16 - 19)

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

(New Testament | Matthew 7:16 - 19)

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

(New Testament | Romans 6:15 - 18)

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Jesus is not obligated to save every sinner. And Mormons only save the ones that they think earned eternal life as taught by Joseph Smith.

Jesus doesn't give dead faith to anyone. All God's gifts are good and perfect. The wages of sin earned by men are death.

Oh, no! Some don't save themselves even in Mormonism.

D&C 132:3–6. “If Ye Abide Not That Covenant, Then Are Ye Damned”

The “new and everlasting covenant” (D&C 132:4) is the covenant of celestial marriage, as President Spencer W. Kimball stated: “Though relatively few people in this world understand it, the new and everlasting covenant is the marriage ordinance in the holy temple by the properly constituted leaders who hold the genuine, authoritative keys. This glorious blessing is available to men and women on this earth.” (“Temples and Eternal Marriage,” Ensign, Aug. 1974, p. 5.)

One can sense the importance of accepting the covenant from the number of times the Lord repeats this warning:

“All who have this law revealed unto them must obey the same” (D&C 132:3).

“If ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned” (v. 4).

“No one can reject this covenant and … enter into my glory” (v. 4).

“All who will have a blessing at my hands shall abide the law” (v. 5).

“He that receiveth a fulness [of my glory] must and shall abide the law” (v. 6).
Section 132, Marriage: An Eternal Covenant

In Mormonism there is no mercy for law breakers.

Alma said: “Do ye suppose that mercy can rob justice? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. If so, God would cease to be God” (
Alma 42:25).

Christians are not perverted murderers and rapists. That's absurd! And we follow Christ, not Joseph Smith!

2 Corinthians 5
17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
