I'd love to know how many of them voted Trump in 2016. I bet it's close to 80% at least.

Probably the same amount that will vote for him again in 2020... after all, if they're suffering, think of how bad off the liberals must be!

Thanks, Obama!

This problem started during his administration but am not sure it was his doing unless he encouraged farmers to produce so much product that it drove prices way down. Which in turn caused some farms to go belly up because they weren't making enough profit to pay the bills anymore.

Now that being said there are Government rules stating that farmers are allowed to only grow so big of a crop forcing buyers of this product to go elsewhere (import) to get enough to fulfill it's needs, cherries being one of these items.

Obama was President in 1985?

Ya, it can't have anything to do with Trump's ridiculous and poorly thought through trade war with China. :)

What Trump "should" have done is worked with the EU to file grievances with the world trade organization about some of China's illegal trade practices. Instead, Trump grabbed the tiger by it's tail, and US farmers are being cut to shreds by it's claws. Trump then tried to hand US farmers a few financial "band-aids" and he pretended that's going to solve the problem. He then tries to take credit for our economy in spite of doing almost everything he could to undermine it.
