You have to constantly put the Word of God on the inside of you.
Jesus said:
Jesus said that the reason the Jews did not believe Him was because God's word was not abiding in them.
King David said,
"Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You." (Psalms 119:11).
A person can hear the word of the kingdom and not understand it because the wicked one can snatch away what Word was sown in their heart:
We have to be doers of the Word, otherwise we can deceive our own selves and be a forgetful of what that verse really says or means.
Scripture is profitable for righteous instruction (i.e. godliness) (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Any man who does not agree with godliness (Which is by knowing and applying Scripture) is proud and they know nothing.
For the person who is of God hears God's words.
Jesus said:
“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you." (John 8:37).
Jesus said that the reason the Jews did not believe Him was because God's word was not abiding in them.
"And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not." (John 5:38).
King David said,
"Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You." (Psalms 119:11).
A person can hear the word of the kingdom and not understand it because the wicked one can snatch away what Word was sown in their heart:
"When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side." (Matthew 13:19).
We have to be doers of the Word, otherwise we can deceive our own selves and be a forgetful of what that verse really says or means.
22 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was." (James 1:22-24).
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was." (James 1:22-24).
Scripture is profitable for righteous instruction (i.e. godliness) (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Any man who does not agree with godliness (Which is by knowing and applying Scripture) is proud and they know nothing.
3 "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing,..." (1 Timothy 6:3-4).
4 He is proud, knowing nothing,..." (1 Timothy 6:3-4).
For the person who is of God hears God's words.
"He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God." (John 8:47) (NKJV).
So we have to hear, or obey, or apply God's Word to our lives. We have to put God's Word on the inside of us. It has to have a place within us. For Jesus said that the Pharisees wanted to kill him because His Word (God's Word) had no place within them.
