i LOVE this account.....

LOOK "who" the Angel of the Lord came to....

it was to the shepherds, at night, as they were watching over their flocks (shepherds were despised at that time and were held in great contempt).

Yet here is the Angel of the Lord coming to the lowly shepherds, first, as God showed His glory all around them.

As i think on this, God was looking for "humble hearts", wasn't He? And it looks like He found such hearts, in Mary, and Joseph, and the shepherds.

It was precious how He shared this Good News, as the world slept, to the shepherds.

Reminds me of what Jesus said (and He represented EXACTLY the "heart of God") and that was this:

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." ~Matt 11:29

Jesus was humble HIMSELF, wasn't HE? And thus, so is our heavenly Father.

And He will take nothing less from us, amen?

Thank you for this meditation. It was thought-provoking and it blessed me.

God bless you.
