the cancellation of the Liturgies should have had no effect on their rehearsal .

Discourtesy really irritates me. Each set of music is about 10 sheets IIRC - I did 4 sets for them.

OK I also did stuff for Father as well - and he's OK about not getting it before Tuesday - he knows what he's doing anyway

Morning all

is damp underfoot but it's not actually raining . Was out delivering my last Christmas card this morning and had a chat with the folk I'll be eating with on Wednesday - the vehicle which will be hidden in my garden, will appear this am

Wednesday's meal will be traditional this year

so the little extras I have got will go down very well with it

I really enjoy the relaxed meal with them - they are good neighbours - there when I need them but never intrude or are 'pushy'

the lodger car is now tucked up

I'm expecting my little black friend and her daddy at some point this afternoon - coffee will be consumed then

and then his vehicle filled up with stuff for our Community's Feast

We have 2 Services tomorrow - the first is Royal Hours at 10am - prayers , Psalms , litanies Readings etc and then Vesperal Liturgy at 6pm [ which is when the new day starts ] and then of course the Parish F..................

I'm sleeping better and just having the occasional splutter and cough - I'm so much better, thank goodness.

I've just finished writing the card for our new Member who will be Chrismated [ Confirmed] and Receive Eucharist for the first time at our Nativity Liturgy

I was very very lucky and found [ thanks to my GodPapa

] some rather nice cards with the Nativity Icon on the front and blank on the inside so I could use my own wording. This will be a Feast of the Nativity that she will never forget

Sounds exciting! Do you have a hard time finding Orthodox items? Cards, etc.?

Not usually - we have a talented member who actually lives in Moscow but usually comes over every summer. She designed some Christmas cards this year which we sold at our Fayre.

We try and give our members a card from the Community on their Namesday - remember we converts often take a 'Church' name on Chrismation. We have a wee 'bank' of cards on hand but I took it on myself to try and do something a wee bit special for this one - and found this card with the Nativity Icon on it . The next one we need is for Theophany - and that is giving me problems. I'll get something.

Things like prayer ropes , books, Prayer books etc are easily obtainable .

I did not know converts usually take on the Church name at Chrismation. Interesting!

They don't always - but many do . I didn't take a Church name but some do - it's like a Confirmation name in Catholicism - but as we are ALWAYS Communed by name [ The Servant/Handmaid of God N Receives ...... ] then many chose a name to be used then instead of their 'secular' name which may not be altogether suitable - think of some of the names in use now - Sky Tyger etc !

I kid you not - I did meet a child whose mother had Registered him on his Birth Certificate as Sky Tyger !!

How about the little boy called Cassandra ? My husband and I nearly ended ourselves laughing as we heard his mother calling for him in the Supermarket and this scruffy little boy ran up to her
