So I am actualy having trouble proving the existence to GOD to someone who wants evidence...

If ten of my friends each tell me they know Pete Smith, then I, being a rational thinker, take that as solid evidence that Pete Smith MUST exist, even though I haven't met him. If several hundred million intelligent people tell me they know God, then what am I going to do? Act like an imbecile and tell them they are all "imagining" exactly the same thing, just because I haven't met Him yet??

But what if 10 people say they know Pete Smith, 40 people say Pete Smith doesn't exist, and you are not sure who is your friend and who is not?

We certainly don't want to tie our discovery of God to who our friends are. He either is or isn't. Who is our friend is a different matter.

I have believed in GOD on my own and have heard HIM talking to me as a result, a nice relationship has blossomed between the both of us.

But as for someone who wants some really concrete evidence of the existence of GOD, I know that various scientific and ontological arguments have been made for HIS existence from various scientists (not every scientist is an atheistic evolutionist, as the media would believe, there are actually plenty of scientists that believe in GOD...but the media has this sort of selfish agenda against GOD that is actually disgraceful that I would not promote, and believe me, they would actually tell lies to promote such an agenda), but there are no archaeological evidences for the existence of GOD that I am aware of. There may be, but if so, then it is hidden from me.

I have been able to prove that the places mentioned in the Bible are actually true though through using a discipline known as biblical archaeology...This discipline has actually proven some of the people mentioned in the Bible to also be true...

Such as King David, who was an actual person who reigned and had his own kingdom in his time when he lived.

As for the media, I would pray for them. They are in a selfish, angry rebellion against GOD and they won't repent to HIM for their sins because they don't believe in HIM. Their eternal end is going to be a bad one (in Hell no less) if they don't wake up and turn to the LORD now while they are still living and breathing.

Remember that GOD said that rebellion is a sin. Anyone who openly rebels against GOD and does not repent for it, believe me, GOD will remember and HE will judge that person one day. That was one of the sins that the Devil committed, when he openly rebelled against GOD and his authority and caused a war in Heaven, GOD basically kicked him out for it because he was so bad and rotten to the core....let us not be like him, evil and corrupted and so black-hearted, amen.

William Lane Craig has written quite a few books on the subject. Right now I'm listening to "Reasonable faith". It's interesting, yet quite advanced. I don't understand everything.

You also have the professor John Lennox. There are clips on youtube with him debating Dawkins and others. He has also written a few books I haven't read yet.

Hi jacqueline,

I'm curious. Is the purpose of your post to attack the media? You seem to spend a lot more time on that than anything having to do with the subject of your thread title. Have you ever considered that there are likely just as many media people who believe in some god as there are scientists?

However, assuming that you are sincere in your quest for an answer to your question in your thread title, I'm going with Daniel 9:23-27

God bless,
In Christ, ted

Pitabread: The fundamental difference is that cancer can be medically demonstrable especially the consequences of not treating it. Saying someone is going to hell when they die, not so much.

There are too many example of ADE's to simply wave one's hand & dismiss it & that describe in minute detail what was occurring during the time, verifying it happened in exactly that way. But I appreciate you stating 'not so much.'

My mother had x-rays/MRI/CT verifying she had a growing cancerous tumor (biopsy taken & verified it as cancerous). The doctor said she should set an appointment to have an operation as soon as possible. My mother, a woman of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, had prayed & believed she would be healed. Many prayer chains were notified & prayed for this healing.

Just before she was scheduled for the operation, the operating doctor took more equipment scans & then more again. They all revealed there was no longer any visible tumor; it was no longer there. As is often true for doctors facing these situations, it was called 'an act of God.' There was no medical explanation for the sudden disappearance of the tumor, verified on previous scans.

as is often the case on these forums*

This is an exaggerated extrapolation that hasn't been proven.

Often (adverb): frequently, regularly, continually, a lot, habitually.

"I've run into quite a few fundamentalists here that when they've realized they've lost the debate will resort to declaring all non-believers are going to suffer in hell upon making their exist. It just comes across as sour grapes and juvenile pettiness. Honestly, evangelists should just drop the whole hell shtick. It's not convincing for non-believers and comes across as desperate and petty most of the time.)"

I am sorry to see that you have experienced this. I have experienced the same treatment from agnostics, atheists, Muslims & much worse, even physical violence. So it can go both ways on varying scales.

I had one individual, who lived in the area where I would visit Christian friends & had a Bible study. If he saw me, he used to yell at me publicly on the street, calling me all kinds of derogatory names because I was a Christian & then got to hitting on me & pushing me around.

I knew I was suppose to love my neighbor as myself & rejoice when persecuted, but I am human. I remember praying to the Lord, that I felt like it would be no problem for me to beat him up & if he laid his hands on me, that is what I felt like doing. I simply prayed for the Lord to help me & asked Him what I should do. The Spirit of God told me to go visit him & spend time with him, rather than try to avoid him.

I did. It changed our relationship. He no longer hit on or swore at me. Not long after he got hit by a car while walking on the side of the road, was in critical condition in a body cast & spent a long time in the hospital, rehabilitating. I used to visit him periodically during this time, encouraging him to keep rehabilitating.

The last time I saw him before he moved away, he was walking with a cane. I told him that the Lord had spared his life for a reason & one of those was to trust in Jesus. He said, 'Maybe.' Long story short, I was visiting with a vendor in a mall many years later & happened to tell her about this story & mentioned his name. She said she knew someone back in a midwest state (where this person moved) & was going back there on vacation. I told her to see if this was the same person.

It was. He told her to tell that 'Jesus freak' (that's what he called me) that he had given his life to the Lord & was a deacon in his church. That was the rest of the story. God is good. Loving our neighbors IS the best policy, yet we do not stop preaching the whole gospel message, which the Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to do.

Jesus Christ was ridiculed, scorned, mocked, marginalized, physically beaten, scourged & killed for speaking what He spoke concerning people being sinners without excuse & warning all of the reality of people being cast into Gehenna or lake of fire for eternity.

He came the first time, to seek & to save the lost from that destiny by preaching repentance & belief in the good news of His death, burial & resurrection, preaching forgiveness of sins & salvation to those who trust in Him. He stated in the Sermon on the Mount:

Matt 5:3ff “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger & thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you & falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice & be glad, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you. Luke 14:34,35; Philippians 2:12-18)

13You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out & trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp & put it under a basket.

Instead, they set it on a lamp stand & it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good deeds & glorify your Father in heaven.

38You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye & tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also; if someone wants to sue you & take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well & if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two...You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor & hate your enemy.’

44But I tell you, love your enemies & pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil & the good & sends rain on the righteous & the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?

John 15:21ff Jesus said, "If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well.

21But they will treat you like this because of My name, since they do not know the One who sent Me. If I had not come & spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, they have no excuse for their sin."

I have traveled around India with my brother. I have stood at the memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi. He carried with him, for most of his life, a copy of the Sermon on the Mount. In his autobiography, he says this about it:

"Even when I was EIGHTEEN, I came in touch with good Christians in London...who placed the Bible in my hand...I could not...take much interest in the OT, which I had certainly read, if only to fulfill a promise I had made to a friend whom I happened to meet in a hotel...But the NT produced a different impression, especially the Sermon on the Mount which went straight to my heart...it delighted me beyond measure & gave me comfort & boundless joy..."

“The Sermon on the Mount left a deep impression on my mind when I read it. I do believe with you that the real meaning of the teachings of Jesus will be delivered from India...Christ’s Sermon on the Mount fills me with bliss even today. Its sweet verses have even today the power to quench my agony of soul.”

And his believing, living it out & spreading this message on the Sermon on the Mount did indeed impact the whole of India. But Mahatma Gandhi is dead, his body is still in that tomb. The Lord Jesus Christ is alive, He is not in the tomb they laid Him in. He is risen. Over five hundred witnesses verified that back when it happened. That is one of the central teachings of Christianity. And He is coming back again to the earth, to set up His millennial kingdom.

When you see the final antichrist broker a peace treaty in the middle east, which many have tried to do but have failed & bring peace on the earth--when you see two last day prophets standing in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 1/2 years, even calling down fire from the sky----when you see the world go on a cashless society & the world develops a one monetary system--when you see a large meteor/comet strike the earth, causing tremendous destruction--know that the Lord Jesus Christ is at the very door & will return to the earth once again.

Proof !!! that's easy....

( 1 ) Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments(new testament ones), and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will "manifest myself to him ".

something MUST happen between God and the person ! manno a manno! other wise all you have is your ideas or someonelses ! ( just believe in the Easter bunny !) pie in the sky find out your wrong when you die !!

remember people who worshiped God and knew scripture ( which they tried to use AGAINST Jesus {just like Satan !}many a time and said praise God and hallelujah etc {and just like today}then Jesus got fed up with them and..read matt 23) crucified him !!

( 2 )
mark 16v17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

all of them,a residual effect of REAL contact with God (given on receipt of the Holy Spirit !!)

unfortunately many think believing (they dont know the english language ie : trust in, rely on, obey )
think that just acknowledgement of God or Jesus Christ is belief !!!!????
eg.. I believe there is a president in America ! does that make me an automatic American citizen !!??
why use the same misguided logic with God ??

Lu 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

( 3 ) how to put this to the test !!!!!!!!!!! find out for REAL...once and for all !! .....

acts 2v37 ¶ Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Joh 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

a new test command !
Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
so according to the truth...
1Co 14:14 For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

some wont even give him a chance !!
some make lame excuses why they dont have or need the signs Jesus commanded for BELIEVERS !

mat 7v13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I have seen some amazing things which definitely prove God is love, light and thought moves in the unseen, manifesting in the seen! Glory to God but, Blessed are those who have not seen and believe! Commentary on “The Light”

email them the athiests delusion, it's a movie put out by ray comfort....

Movies - YouTube

that is his full list of free movies on youtube.

what I noticed is that it's worthless to share apologetics while post poning sharing the gospel. Most people have a moral problem with christianity not an intellectual one. Ray comfort does a nice balance of both.

Humans get the most fundamental reversed. Humans mostly get facts from testimonies with faith, instead of evidence. Evidence is scarce for humans to get to, thus humans typically quit using evidence to get to a truth. They rely on faith in testimonies to get to a truth instead.

Satan on the other hand, fooled the atheists to think that evidence is what we need to get to a truth. he fooled humans mostly through our own secular education system where humans are indoctrinated since childhood.

In a nutshell, only science can be effectively evidenced because science is all about a phenomenon which can repeat. Can you evidence the food you ate last Christmas? You can't. Even photos proves nothing as they can be taken on another party another Christmas. Photos/videos are just modern way of what testimonies are.

Even in terms of science which we can evidence, we don't bother do so. That's why among the 100% humans who know for a fact that black holes exist, 99% of them don't have the direct evidence. It is so because this piece of scientific fact is not conveyed through evidence. Instead it is conveyed as a testimony of our scientists (they are the eyewitnesses).

As for Christianity, God is bound to the same covenant which says that humans need faith to be saved. If God shows up publicly He would have broken His own covenant and men can no longer be saved by faith. For that matter, the next most efficient and fundamental way of conveying His truth is through human testimonies.

This actually proved who God is. God is the one who actively employed the most fundamental way for a truth to convey among humans, while humans themselves are clueless about this fundamental way. If you look deeper into this, you may notice that the only religion which could possibly hold the truth is Christianity.

I know how it is. I talked to Atheists almost daily, and I will tell you a little secret. An Atheist hardly look for evidence of a God. If there was a God, that means that they are held responsible to Him. There is a saying, "An Atheist isn't looking for God the same way a thief cannot find a police man."

In Romans 1, it says that everyone knows there is a creator. But they suppress that knowledge because they love their sin.

When you see the final antichrist broker a peace treaty in the middle east, which many have tried to do but have failed & bring peace on the earth--when you see two last day prophets standing in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 1/2 years, even calling down fire from the sky----when you see the world go on a cashless society & the world develops a one monetary system--when you see a large meteor/comet strike the earth, causing tremendous destruction--know that the Lord Jesus Christ is at the very door & will return to the earth once again.

um hello... may i know what a prayer chain is? i think i really need help in praying for my family :/

Zhen: um hello... may i know what a prayer chain is? i think i really need help in praying for my family :/

Thanks you for asking the question, Zhen. A prayer chain is a group of Christians that link themselves together to pray for others. Sometimes it is a whole church fellowship; other times it is several churches that link together & the prayer requests are shared & all in that network are able to pray for the prayer requests. Sometimes it is prayers of a mission organization or Christian organization that has an 'electronic or internet' prayer list.

Here is one prayer chain at a local church fellowship that has Christian prayer warriors (those dedicated to praying for others & fighting the spiritual battle for souls that need to be saved).

Prayer Chain | Prayer Request | Venture Christian Church | Glendale Arizona

Here are some other prayer chains where you can others pray for you & you can pray for others as well or even start your own prayer chain.

Here are some Scriptural examples of how to pray & what to pray for, for ourselves, for other believers & for nonbelievers.

I Thessalonians 1:2,3 We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; constantly bearing in mind your work of faith & labor of love & steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God & Father...

Colossians 1:3-12 We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus & the love which you have for all the saints; because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit & increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it & understood the grace of God in truth;

7just as you learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf & he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.

9For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you & to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom & understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work & increasing in the knowledge of God;

11strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness & patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

Luke 11:1,2 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." Jesus said, “This is how you should pray..."

Matthew 6:5-13 When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand & pray in the synagogues & on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

6“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door & pray to your Father who is in secret & your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

7“And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. 8“So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

9“Pray, then, in a manner like this: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

12‘And forgive us our trespasses (debts), as we also have forgiven our trespassers (debtors.) And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom & the power & the glory forever. Amen.’

Ephesians 3:14-21 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven & on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,

17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith & that you, being rooted & grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth & length & height & depth & to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

20Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church & in Christ Jesus to all generations forever & ever. Amen.

Colossians 4:2-6 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak. Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
