Pick up David Powlison's book "Power Encounters," and the Counterpoint Series book "Understanding Spiritual Warfare: Four Views."


Scripture's solution is very plain and simple: Resist the devil and he will flee.

Do you believe that or not? If not then stop wasting our time because nothing anyone here posts will make any difference if you're not believing the very plain and simple direction of God's word. Paul agreed with James; he said take up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Have you done that? Have you taken up the shield of faith and are you actually extinguishing ALL the evil one's schemes?

Remember: If Christ dwells in you then you are an adopted son of The Most High God, a royal priest in His holy nation, chosen by God Himself.

Act like it.

And don't let anyone or anything keep you from fellowship. The prayers and encouragement of others will help.

Years before being conversed I had a distance relationship with a narcissist named in forensic psychiatry (for us, a person with a very high level of demonic activity).
When I left him, demonic entities began to destroy my life. They hurt my health strongly (they began to attack me spiritually strongly), everything goes wrong, nothing I do socially works (my work dont function, im being healthy attacked if i go to the church), my house is with demonic activity (doors close by themselves, knocks on the closet).

You have an evil spirit, more than likely occult, in your home. You do not need to pray. You need to command. Command the thing to go in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus. Break Satan's hold over your life by declaring that you repent of anything to do with the occult and commanding Satan to get off your life. If you have anything occult (star signs, witches hats, books like Harry Potter and so on) get rid of them. It is best to burn them. Resist the devil every time he attacks you.

Resistance and ridding oneself of the tangible effect is good and coupled with using the power of Jesus name are invaluable, but I would also insist on a specific dis-ownership which the Spirit of God will include in the sealing of us upon our repentance and confession of Christ Jesus.

The Lord is near, thank you Lord, for this is a point of being gathered together and just as effective as if near, the Lord Jesus is still God of all power of heaven and earth (measurable distance) even when the physical properties are far apart, the needs therefore justify a wholesome proving of the matter, but only after we have secured our authority in Christ!

Can you not see how you are not resisting him? If demons are following you around so you can't go to church without getting physically ill then that's not resistance and they are not fleeing.

Furthermore, psychiatric narcissism is not (inherently) demonic; it's fleshly. I don't know where you may have gotten the idea the two were the same but wherever that was it was bad teaching. That's real important because if the problem is the effects being in relationship with a narcissist has and is still having on you then the problem is not demons leaving the narcissist and following you around to harass you. Again: that's bed teaching.

The solutions may be similar: prayer, fellowship, and obedient living, but victory will be delayed fighting the wrong enemy. You will note that nowhere in the Bible do the Christians go looking for demons. The standard is demon-resisting, not demon hunting.

Some of this is common sense. If you doors close spontaneously and knocks occur without natural cause then either 1) walk around and throughout the house and cast out all those demons with the authority possessed in Christ, or 2) go see a Christian mental health therapist to see if you're delusional and paranoid, or 3) do both, or 4) sell your house and move, 5) or do all three. If you haven't done #1 then have your priest/minister/pastor bless a large bottle of water and Use it to "wash" the doors as you pray hell out of them.

But based on the opening post and the reply I just received, I suspect something else is afoot. Remember, both James and Paul, inform the reader satan is a defeated enemy and the Christian has power over he and his minions. If your life actually contains the thngs described above then either 1) God has permitted this in your life for His purpose and you can rely on Romans 8:28, or 2) the problem is spiritual but not spirits; the problem is in your flesh.

And based on the posts, I suspect at least part of the problem is bad teaching that has lead to incorrect thinking about the Christian life in relationship to spirits versus the flesh. Note that most of the problems occurring in the NT church were problems of the flesh, not demons. Our war with the power and principalities does not preclude the war with our own flesh, and you won't be effective in the former if you don't have victory over the latter. There are some doctrinal problem with Watchman Nee but his book "The Normal Christian Life" is very good and will provide a good contrast to the Powlison book I recommended earlier.

Which means, sadly, you're going to suffer more, not less for the time being because prayer, fellowship, and obedience to the word remain the solution but continuing to persevere and faithfully interact with faithful brethren will bring new teaching and correction and that will be painful - but only for a season. As the effect of prayer, fellowship, and obedience and examination take effect you should experience increasing victory...

...because the Christian life is one of victory and demons simply do not follow the adopted sons of The Most High God around when they have easier prey abundant.

This doesn't aid those whom are for the present held in the world's many places of physical wilderness, which is why I included self-perseverance which is not to be faulted, even when we adopt a path that steers clear of what may appear checks upon the conscience that may be for instance, discovered to be more inclined to prescribe psychiatric treatment with dosages.

I therefore feel no apprehension 'Carolina', for you to continue to gather. If it seems there are brethren nearby that are involved in deliverance, then that is also something that should be considered. For though Paul walked independent at first, we also are advised more times to submit to those worthy to watch over our souls. Ultimately, it is God who imparts direction on all sides of a decision.

Sure, but only pertaining to your use of “fellowship”. As good, clean, thorough and effective writer as you are, I’m surprised you didn’t catch that when I said,

I am strangely relieved to know for some of us, there is an absence of knowledge of the huge swath of Churches whom do not engage in deliverance ministries, and some of those don’t even believe there is a Devil who seeks our woe, esp. considering Christ came to destroy the works of the Devil, which He did, but disadvantage the flock of the tools and armor to resist.

To the best of my ability, this is not necessarily the largest example to cite, but it is I believe the most egregious, seeing they hold the truth in error. Others, are those brothers and sister out there whom are simply too distant from those who could assist. How wise of her to step up and post here!!

True, we have been so blessed of God to not only know how to resist, but what sonship by Christ has brought, an inexhaustible authority to command all hell by the power of God.

Thanks for the kind words. Thanks too for the clarification. It was warranted. I will clarify something further but do please feel free to affirm, correct or dissent if you like. The matter of prescribing psychiatric treatment with dosages warrants expansion.

We now know certain mental health conditions are in fact physical or medical illnesses and are and can be effectively treated with medication. Narcissism is not one of those conditions. This is true in the ordinary sense of limited narcissistic tendencies any of us might have, the narcissistic effort to self-protect the wounds to the soul we have all experienced, or the more severe but very rare case of the clinical narcissistic personalty.

Most of which has little to do with this op but should be said for the sake of public interest.

What is germane to this op is that the Holy Spirit does not share space with demons and those regenerated and indwelt by the HS have authority over the circumstances of their life unless God has for a season seen fit to have such an oppression (oppression, not possession), occur in a believer's life and in all such cases it is a matter of Romans 8:28. After describing a court setting in which all the players are Jesus, he states,

And do so with others....

Are you kidding, barely a spot one that could be considered un-related to the OP. As truly serious of potential as this stands is well received by mercy. But although hell must heel to that matchless name of Jesus, I herein resist saying how dark his snares remain under certain conditions. Lord have mercy wherein those spirals exist. Lest we forget to make straight His paths!

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
