What witnesses do you have in mind? I was hoping Hunter Biden would be put up there, personally.

Why? What could Hunter Biden possibly know about Donald's alleged attempt to solicit a bribe?

And I think Trump himself would love that. Can you imagine? I don't know why the Senate would prevent it, but I wouldn't blame Trump for it.

You just don't get it -- even if Hunter Biden was guilty as sin (and he's not), Donald has ZERO right to try to solicit a bribe to prove it.

Haha.. I like that you first tried tempering this with "alleged attempt", but gave up immediately and went on with full on accusation anyways. And somehow pardoned Hunter Biden as well, without any interest in getting to the bottom of that either.

Way to avoid the point. Those who we entrust to enforce the laws don't get to break them. If a cop plants evidence on a suspect, does the suspect's actual innocence or guilt matter anymore?

You want to investigate Hunter Biden (again)? Fine. You'll have plenty of time after the impeachment.

Having any of those with first hand knowledge testify under oath is obviously a perjury trap.

I've found that the best way to avoid a perjury trap is not to commit perjury.

Going by the number of indictments, plea agreements, and convictions, nobody in Donald's administration got the memo.

To wit:

Roger Stone Becomes 6th Trump Associate Convicted Under Mueller Probe

Hey, check it out! That Mueller "Nothing Burger" comes with a six-piece side order of Felon McNuggets! ;)

I'm not avoiding the point. I already said my piece above. I'm just having fun now. This all hinges on turning Zelinsky into a victim apparently.. even when he said he isn't one. And when that isn't good enough, you all rely on further conspiracies about someone silencing him, which is just as unfounded, afaik.

So, now maybe you can understand why people feel as so against the impeachment since many feel the dems are impeaching not for 'high crimes and misdemeanors' but rather simply because the dems hate him...... as you have agreed they need no real reason at all.....

And while Trump supporters may feel this way, it's not a remotely accurate description of what is happening.

Unfounded conspiracies, you say?

I better be careful -- Donald might sue me for trademark infringement. ;)

"Perjury trap" is Trump supporter lingo for "can't tell the truth on the stand". Trump under oath, at any time, is, indeed a "perjury trap".

1. "solicit a bribe" does not mean what you think it does.

2. The articles of impeachment are online, and there is no accusation of bribery.

Indeed -- testifying against Donald might be hazardous to one's health.

Not at all my meaning. In respect to your illustration... why get into a situation where the husband is the judge presiding over the trial, is best buds with the prosecution and handpicked jury, defines what a door is, decides what witness can speak, and even lays out an entire false set of documents 'proving' the wife was abusive.

Why? Because if we don't at least pretend to care about due process, why bother? Just fit Donald for his crown and tell Congress to take the rest of their lives off.

You and I know the Senate will be a rigged trial -- let the rest of the world see it as well.

Indeed, my bad -- he tried to offer one.

2. The articles of impeachment are online, and there is no accusation of bribery.

Using the powers of his high office, President Trump
Solicited the interference of a foreign government,
Ukraine, in the 2020 United States Presidential election.
He did so through a scheme or course of conduct that
included soliciting the Government of Ukraine to publicly
announce investigations that would benefit his reelection,
harm the election prospects of a political opponent, and
in?uence the 2020 United States Presidential election to
his advantage. President Trump also sought to pressure
the Government of Ukraine to take these steps by condi-
tioning official United States Government acts of signifi-
cant value to Ukraine on its public announcement of the
investigations.
President Trump engaged in this scheme
or course of conduct for corrupt purposes in pursuit of
personal political benefit. In so doing, President Trump
used the powers of the Presidency in a manner that com-
promised the national security of the United States and
undermined the integrity of the United States democratic
process. He thus ignored and injured the interests of the
Nation.

Let's just agree to disagree on our definitions of "bribery."

You have seen the report that all of this stems from bar talk over beers, literally, the FBI committed several federal felonies in the investigation, and the speaker of the house refers to that investigation as the justification for impeachment.

How is it you keep going on about fair trials as if any of this has any validity?

Married
Leader of the United States Senate (...not that I expected anything greater from Mitch McConnell....but to do so on the Sean Hannity show? )

“There will be no difference between the president’s position and our position,” McConnell told Sean Hannity in a Fox News interview Thursday evening.

When asked whether the Senate trial would involve witnesses, McConnell said, “I’m going to take my cues from the president’s lawyers.”
