Yes, the tweet was ridiculous and embarrassing. First, the president should not be making insults or social commentary on others he disagrees with on Twitter, and second he definitely shouldn't be mocking a minor.

Have you given him his first warning ? :)

Well, he mocked a disabled person publicly so are we really surprised about this? At this point, we should be thankful he didn't make any comments about her breasts or genital region or boys not liking her.

That's true. I'm honestly surprised he didn't resort to using profanity to deride and disparage her or incite some kind of violence against her like the violence he incited at his campaign rallies. I wouldn't have been shocked if he had done something like that because that's just the kind of person he is.

KennysID will be waiting for Tulk to start his own version of National Enquirer, because inquiring minds want to know all that petty magazines have to offer.
huh...that guy Tulk sounds like he's pretty cool. He even copied different threads I started. Of course if I was him I might point out that the "pettiest person of the year" came from a satire site that I also like (small world!) and that in that case it was one adult making fun of another adult. As opposed to the President of the United States attacking a 16 year old girl for daring to have an opinion. And being named person of the year instead of him. :sorry:

There was a time when Time was worth reading
Apparently (from how triggered he was) President Trump still reads it.

I don’t seek education from children with psychiatric problems.
...and that's two times. I wonder if this is what "Be Best" looks like? because to me? it's looking a lot like an adult mocking and disparaging a 16 year old girl for having an opinion.

But good luck to you!
Thanks, I appreciate that. :)

I admit that Pres. Trump has a Twitter problem. To understand him a little, though, he grew up in Queens, where people have a combative, fighting culture. That doesn't excuse him, but it helps me understand him.
I understand him just fine. On the other hand I expect better from 70+ year old people, no matter where they grew up.

On the other hand, we can't talk about or disagree with teenagers? Why?
apparently it's only okay to mock and disparage teenagers if they aren't Republicans, if they have Republican parents though? You aren't supposed to even mention their names
Melania and Don Jr. spark outrage after throwing a fit over mere mention of Barron in hearing
During this afternoon’s impeachment hearings, one of the testifying lawyers made the mistake of citing the President’s youngest son Barron in an innocuous quip. “The Constitution says there can be no titles of nobility, so while the president can name his son Barron, he cannot make him a baron” explained Stanford Law professor and former NAACP Legal Defense Attorney Pamela Karlan to the assembled congressmen.

It was a mistake, but a harmless one that in no way disparaged the child as the fringe of the right did to a young Chelsea Clinton a quarter century ago, and certainly not anything as dangerous as Donald Trump calling for the execution of falsely accused teenagers before that. More two months ago, Trump overtly trolled 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Desperate for any kind of talking point with which to distract the public from the damning conclusions being shared by some of our nation’s brightest legal minds, the right-wing quickly seized on the very mention of Barron Trump’s name and cried crocodile tears as they furiously tried to portray her remarks as some kind of “attack” on a poor innocent child.

Led by Melania and Donald Trump Jr., the faux outrage quickly picked up speed on Twitter as the right-wing media machine kicked into high gear.
:sigh:
tulc(guesses it's okay to call kids names and and say disparaging things about them, but only if their parents aren't Republicans)

The difference being that Thunberg put herself in the public spotlight, with her parents approval. But who cares about important details, right?

...so that makes her "older so it's okay" somehow? You disagree with her? Explain WHY you disagree with her. But if the only thing you can bring up as to why she should be ignored is how old she is? Then you should just keep quiet and move on so you don't make some of the people who support you have to find reasons to explain why it's alright for you (and your supporters) to attack a 16 year old girl. Because, dude, that's not cool at all. :sigh:
tulc(knows it never will be) :sorry:

Trump mocks a child that has put herself in a position to tell others how they should live their life.

Child, that so many want to place the burden of their fears for the future on her shoulders. Cry because she can handle the burden of their fears, but not the light weight of sticks and stones.

Either she is a leader you wish to follow... or is a fragile little butterfly that cant survive the slings and insults of the world.... pick one cause she cant be both.

Should Trump mock a child? No.

In other news, both parties are childish and life goes on.

Dude, you need to stop raving. The reason she should be ignored is that she's wrong, but that's not what you were complaining about. What you were complaining about was why she should be publicly rebuked and not what's-his-name Trump, when the fact that she's in a position of controversy is entirely due to the fact that she put herself there by pretending to be some sort of authority.

Nope... no mocking a disabled reporter by Trump in this image or in any of the pictures posted below.

He must have had muscle spasms throughout his body or he was having a mental breakdown. If the preferred excuse of his supporters is that he's just being animated and trying to be funny, then he failed miserably in his attempt and he needs to learn how to behave better while in public. He should behave like a man in his seventies instead of behaving like some obnoxious little kid on a playground.

Pretty sure I wasn't, but if that's how you want to view it, no problem. I tend to think people who attack kids (for any reason they think gives them the right to do so) need to be offered an opportunity to see how others view that.

The reason she should be ignored is that she's wrong, but that's not what you were complaining about.
That would be because no was was even pretending they were addressing what she said, she was simply being dismissed because A) she's young, B) she needs to get anger management classes C) she should go watch movies with her friends D) needs to chill E) and in one of my examples of "Be Best": "I don’t seek education from children with psychiatric problems.". At what point does any of the above discuss "She's wrong, and here's why..."?

What you were complaining about was why she should be publicly rebuked and not what's-his-name Trump, when the fact that she's in a position of controversy is entirely due to the fact that she put herself there by pretending to be some sort of authority.
uhmmm...she is being attacked because she has an opinion and the people who disagree with her opinion are attacking her for that. That they can't address the things she says is pretty obvious because most of them only ever seem to discuss how she needs to be quiet because she's young. But, to be fair? Those people seem to be the ones raving, not me. :sorry:

tulc,

1. This has to be seen from the big picture across the board.
If Wikipedia is right Greta was 8 when she learned about climate change.
She didn’t understand why nobody was doing something about it.
She got depressed etc. and was finally diagnosed with Asperger’s a supposed mental illness.

2. Her mother was an opera singer and her father an actor in Sweden and went public to try and help others with that condition.
It was then she became to be an advocate and looked at her condition as a plus.

3. She then impressed upon her parents to make lifestyle choices because of climate change saying their generation was killing them more or less.
She went vegan and started doing the school strikes and her mother had to quit being an international artist because it was against climate change to fly.

4. Asperger is a compulsive disorder can be a danger in certain ways.
Now it is a good thing when anyone including children to be gifted and make a difference in the world.

5. Satan can use these things through their condition and definitely through other people.
Deception is his big game.
The left no doubt is taking advantage of this situation.
Yes she is passionate and probably true to herself about being a real problem.
However, people can be used as a tool of Satan without them knowing it. Even Peter was used as a tool of Satan about hindering the plan of redemption Matthew 16:22-23. He even cut a soldiers ear off and denied Christ and he was a believer of Christ.

6. God has all authority in Heaven and Earth and has everything in control Matthew 28:19.
So climate change is not as hopeless or too late as they try to paint the picture.
This is not to say we shouldn’t maintain creation. But there is a difference between environmentalists and conservationists.
If they think that climate change is bad now wait till they get into the tribulation Revelation 16 if they are still alive. Revelation 16:8-9 they will be blaspheming God.

7. She said herself that she is saying what her side tells to say. Another words she is like there spokesperson and what better way to make the message stick than with a young person.

8. Trump was right that she was angry and that she is on the wrong side of the issue in essence. He does admire young people that are confident and make a difference.
The problem in the long run is that she is being used by the left to advance the issue that is not been proven by science.
She says, she doesn’t like talking to politicians because it’s a waste of time and doesn’t like small talk. Of course, I am sure she would make an exception for Al Gore, who has made millions of dollars off this subject and has been proven wrong, not to mention he is an ex-politician.

9. Comparing to Barron Trump one might could argue bullying, but it could also be argued she was the first to disrespect
her parents and the world who doesn’t agree with her. Also, she is not on the right side of the issue in the big issue which Trump is looking at.
God in the Old Testament had a law that talked about rebellious sons and they were to be stoned which I am sure would include rebellious daughters Deuteronomy 21:19-20.
Though Trump is not God, his sarcasm pails in that light even though it is not koshered on a personal level, and bogus with the pc crowd yet, viable in the truth department.
So in the overall scheme of things I wouldn’t feel too sorry for her too much if she really comes to the truth of God about this issue.
I think we ought to pray for her to be saved.
Food for thought. Jerry Kelso

uhmmm...while I appreciate you taking the time to post that, it' doesn't actually address any of the things that Greta brings up. You don't say why what she believes is wrong, you just talk about her being younger when she started and how what she's doing affected her parents. None of which is about the science about climate change.
one thing I would like to point out that is particularly...not even sort of true:
He does admire young people that are confident and make a difference.
this part is simply not even kind of true. President Trump only admires (as far as I can tell)
A) bloody handed dictators
and
B) people who are rich
and that's about it.

However, people can be used as a tool of Satan without them knowing it.
You realise that that could just as easily be applied to the naysayers. I would assume that the fruits are the indicator. Reverse the madness of planet consumption or save the lifestyle of the elite all wish to have.

Yes but he must at least admire young people who strive for those same anti-Christ behaviours.
