• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Its is not about listening to your fears but being delivered from your fears. The bible teaches us that the sting of death can not touch us when we know ourselves to be saved by Christ for we know that we are going to live forever with Him. If death still freaks you then this is what God wants to give you a fearless heart that doesn't get run away with fear for death and dying.

The best thing to do is give your whole troubled heart to Jesus to take care of, this includes all your fears and worries, and let His loving truth set you free from all of that.

We don't know when we are going to die so it is best to be prepared to die so it never catches you by surprise.

Peace.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

You say in your avatar that you are "Catholic". While I was Catholic, I was clearly directed to always be ready to die. Death can bring us to Heaven, I was told, and this would be very good. So, always be ready to die right. I trusted that my teacher had authority of the Church; so I invested in what he said and I did what he said to do >

always make sure I did not do anything which could get me put in hell;

always keep my confessing of my sins up to date

and pray for the Lord to take me if I die while I am asleep . . . trusting Him.

So, in my opinion, if a person claims to be Catholic, but does not do what people direct by the authority of the Church, then the person is not being obedient to the authority of the Catholic Church.

Now, I am no longer Catholic, but I give them credit for helping me to not fear death, but to invest in being ready for it. But now I have so much more to help me, because I have trusted Jesus to save me and forgive me and bring me to God Himself. And God's word is very clear how God does not have us fearing death. But God has us preparing to die right, to invest in using death for His good. We use things in our lives for His good, and with Him we use death for His good.

Now, if you please to get more into what God's word says about not fearing and about using anything for His love purpose, we will be glad to get more into this with you . . . the Lord willing, of course.
