Republicans believe white people experience same level of racism as black people, report says
Researchers have punctured right-wing claims that a wave of "racism against white people" has coincided with efforts to prevent discrimination against blacks.

A study published in Nature Human Behaviour compared perceptions of racial discrimination in "societies that supposedly favour non-white people" and found that white people consistently experienced far less discrimination than black people, despite the influence of far-right groups and increasingly polarised political views that have argued civil rights progress has eliminated rights for others.

Authors compared perceptions of racial discrimination with actual reported discrimination experiences throughout the US to determine the veracity of those claims. Overall, they discovered that respondents "do not express zero-sum discrimination beliefs".

Where were those "societies that supposedly favour non-white people"? Obviously not Europe or the US as no one would call them that.
It's most definitely the US according to these folks. All a black person has to do is show up and he's given a mansion, a yacht, and a swimming pool.

White Christians are the most oppressed and discriminated people on the planet. Just ask them.

Ironically, you're just helping their cause by flippantly dismissing that they have any pain. Exactly how does turning them into the butt of jokes put anything in perspective.. for both yourself and t

Only half-white here btw. This isn't personal. And unlike most of you, I actually learned to enjoy life in a multiracial upbringing (Enjoy. Not merely thrive or cope). Resorting to mockery and us vs them approaches won't help anyone.

But that's what the study shows, they see themselves as victims but their oppression is non-existent. Your statement about being half white makes no sense and is a poor attempt to elevate yourself as being better than others.

I am better in this respect, definitely. Not in general. Don't expect me to apologize for that. It's just a fact. The whole world will be better off when mixed people are more the norm. They learn thousands of tangible and intangible lessons from birth, almost automatically, when it comes to race relations. The more people who are like me, the more the world can forget racial conflict and move on. But it definitely won't move on with the likes of you, who still just sees division and difference.

You are not better, talk about hubris. A large percentage of Black Americans are mixed, that didn't stop them from experiencing racial discrimination (e.g., the one drop rule).

If they didn't grow up in a mixed environment, it's not going to help as much unfortunately. It's not just a biological thing, but cultural. And it's not hubris necessarily. I'm just convinced by populations I've been around. I'm originally from Hawaii - and I've seen whole populations that are largely mixed. They're just more pleasant and not obsessed on who's got it in for them or causing pain or not...let alone thinking of "systemic" enemies. They have class issues that definitely need to be fixed, but they're not as focused on race like the rest of the country. I can't be entirely sure, but it almost seems the same for, say, Brazil as well. It's like a bigger Hawaii.

Perhaps because they didn't have a century of segregation; it's hard to live in a mixed environment when you are forced to live in a segregated environment, it's quite systemic (without quotes). Nonetheless, your posts are off-topic anyway.

Fair enough (on the off topic thing).

I didn't put "systemic" in quotes to necessarily question it. I mostly question what usually gets attacked as systemic. If people truly cared about "systemic", they'd attack abortion. Now that's some mighty systemic racism, if anything ever was. Nearly 20,000,000 black children have been killed since 1973. They'd have extremely powerful bargaining power right now, if that wasn't so. They'd barely be a minority even. And there does seem to be a systemic problem at the core of it. Same goes for the modern problem of the enormously large number of black imprisonments. Much of it due to the Clinton's 3 strikes laws from the 90s. Instead, what gets the brunt of the "systemic" attack is petty in comparison. Like Hollywood casting issues or individual cops or just a general lashing out at the "goofy white people" like in this thread.

No need to get mad, your post was simply off-topic.

The topic only leads to "Lol. The darnedest things those white people say." It deserves to be derailed. Perhaps I lack the imagination to see more to it than that? Perhaps you wanted to discuss something seriously, but I can't see it getting off the ground much. It's just a good excuse to point and laugh at these people, and then patting ourselves on the backs for not being them.

So yeah, the best hope is to just derail, and mention some other tangential solutions to racial problems. That's either mixed race culture taking over and the madness all ends. Or abortion being outlawed and blacks gain demographic power.
