The whole chapter is about how we are to serve God, What we are to do and the consequences of not doing them.
10 Virgins. 1-13.
Christ is the Bridegroom, who celebrates his nuptials with his bride the Church, and comes to conduct her to heaven; those who are ready will accompany him and enter into the joy of their Lord; those who have not made their calling sure will be shut out. Eternal punishment. One day without God is one day to many.
This also about us waiting on the Lord, being patient, knowing He will come as He said He would. To let His light shine through us and spread the Gospel. To do the works of faith we are to do after salvation leaning on Him. Not wasting time. But continuing in His work. When that time comes, He will take us home. Those who didn't do these things, waste away or sell the oil, are those who reject Him. Not having the patience and waiting on the Lord's return. Continuing the work that He has begun. Therefore, they are shut out, left behind, without God. Eternally.
It is a warning also, to be alert, for no one knows the day or the hour of His coming. Only God, knows this. So be ready, in season and out of season.
8 Talents 14-30
Really it's 8 Talents. He gives one 5, another 2 and the last 1.
This is about being diligent and going out and doing the work we are to do for the Lost. We are given eternal life from Christ as a gift and reward for repenting of our sins and denying ourselves. Picking up that cross and spreading the Gospel. The one with 5, invested what he was given. Just as we should with what God has given us. We aught to invest our time, spreading the Gospel, with the Holy Spirit bring about conviction for the conversion of the lost. The one with 2 did the same, We aught to go about continuing the work that Christ laid down before us. So that there would be more to go down the strait and narrow way.
The last..He rejected the master. Being lazy and didn't think of others as he should have. He turned to His own understanding instead of trusting the the Master knew what He was doing. And He was cast out and thrown into Hell.
Again, no second chances after death. Those who are lost and die in their sins, will be judged by an Eternal God, and will receive eternal punishment.
31-46
Doing works of faith.
We are to love everyone. Help those we can help. Feed those we can feed. Cloth those who need clothing.
We are to have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control
They are called the fruits of the Spirit.
Those who do not do these things are living in the flesh and reject the commands of God. For the Spirit does not abide with them.
They have not repented of their sins, placed their trust in Christ, recieving the Holy Spirit and being filled by the Spirit.
They are punished for not doing these things. Therefore, eternal punishment.
Not everyone will be saved.
God is love, but He is also righteous and Just. Because He loves us, He must be the other. For it's by His righteousness, we live. And by His Judgment, we learn as we live, due to discipline. And we shot HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!!. on that day of judgment. For those of who are Children of God, will receive our Reward, which we have laid up in Heaven. For those who reject Christ, do not repent, and continue to rebel against God, they will receive their just reward also. Eternally.
