Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.” - Psalm 77:9

i am reminded of Elijah and his depression. He was so depleted after his stand against the 800 Pagan priests, amongst other horrors (Queen Jezebel who was bound and determined to kill him), that he just literally collapsed in mind, body, heart, and spirit. God KNEW this. And what did God do? Get mad? Abandon him? Chastise him?

No, God MINISTERED to him. He sent a raven to feed Elijah and commanded Elijah to get some sleep.

We DO get depressed, and it doesn't mean that we're "defeated" spiritually nor needing "chastisement" from God or abandoned by God.

It just means that we're depleted and we need to be ministered to and "filled up" by God.

Thank you for this thought-provoking meditation on this not-as-cold and cloudy and misty Monday morning in December.

God bless you.

Amen Brinny. When we are down, it means we need to be refilled with and refocused on God. We too are cloudy, and very warm at 67 now headed to 70. Hope you have a blessed day!

Weather like this always gives me concern. Mild before Christmas usually means brutal after Christmas. Hopefully not this time. In Christ alone!
