No, the bible nowhere says that Sunday was ever a day of worship, they met on a Saturday night.

I stated the Sunday Law Fear is of SDA. I even said some Christians worshiped on Saturday, where as many worshiped daily.

Matthew 28:1[ News That Jesus Has Risen From Death ] The day after the Sabbath day was the first day of the week. That day at dawn Mary Magdalene and the other woman named Mary went to look at the tomb.

Mark 14:12[ The Passover Meal ] It was now the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread—the day the lambs were killed for the Passover. Jesus’ followers came to him and said, “We will go and prepare everything for you to eat the Passover meal. Where do you want us to have the meal?”

Mark 16:2Very early on that day, the first day of the week, the women were going to the tomb. It was very early after sunrise.

Mark 16:9[ Some Followers See Jesus ] Jesus rose from death early on the first day of the week. He appeared first to Mary Magdalene. One time in the past Jesus had forced seven demons out of Mary.

Acts 20:18When they came, Paul said to them, “You know about my life from the first day I came to Asia. You know the way I lived all the time I was with you.

1 Corinthians 16:2On the first day of every week, each of you should take some of your money and put it in a special place. Save up as much as you can from what you are blessed with. Then you will not have to gather it all after I come.

Romans 14:5-6 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
5 Some people might believe that one day is more important than another. And others might believe that every day is the same. Everyone should be sure about their beliefs in their own mind. 6 Those who think one day is more important than other days are doing that for the Lord. And those who eat all kinds of food are doing that for the Lord. Yes, they give thanks to God for that food. And those who refuse to eat some foods do that for the Lord. They also give thanks to God.

There are some, that's right. The Herbert W. Armstrong spin-off churches for instance. However, the SDAs are best known for making the arguments that have been made here on this thread.

Good grief, there were Sabbath keepers throughout history, long before any SDA!---nobody wants to admit it!

Not one of which states that GOD changed His Sabbath day to the 1st day of the week. Unless God changes it---it remains. He was resurrected on the 1st day of the week---that in no way translates to we now have the Sabbath on the 1st day of the week. Jesus never said so. If that is what He wanted, He certainly had every opportunity to say so. There is no 8th day of the week, circumcision was on the 8th day after birth.

You claimed that Constantine made Christianity "the" State religion in 324. He did no such thing.

I'm not the one making false claims.

I posted primary sources that disproves the false history claims that Constantine made Christianity. I also posted Church Fathers and scriptures that shows Christians worshiped on days other than the sabbath. Some worshiped everyday, Some on Sunday aka as First day aka Eight day aka Lord's day, and some worshiped on Saturday.

So far those making the false claims really have not proven the theme of this thread.
They had an tency to run down rabbit holes like antisemitism, and now the Sabbath Law fear thing.

Again, I know of no one who has said Constantine made Christianity! Jesus did! Christians were first called that in Antioch.
Act_11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

It has been proven that he did try to make laws concerning it. But he never made Christianity. How can you prove something that is not true to begin with!!

I understand being wary of some Byzantine emperors (some were outright heretics and sided with Arians), but this meme about Constantine is silly. He helped stopped the slaughter of Christians. You could do worse. The Christians of his day were grateful. Do you think they actually enjoyed being flayed alive?

I didn't say it was outlawed at Nicaea. Read it, I said later it was outlawed. BTW proclaiming one anathema from Christ in fourth century Rome was a death sentence.

Please prove it was a death sentence as you claim from only primary sources.
The common penalty for someone was exiled.

Foxes' Book of Martyrs is not a primary source, it is just polemics. Go to the primary sources only to be accepted as valid. www.newadvent.org has those sources.

Daniel 12:4 does not apply because that was around 1500 years ago. We are closer to the end times than they were.

Your last statement has proven to be laughable by the primary sources I already posted.

Wars against Licinius
In the following years, Constantine gradually consolidated his military superiority over his rivals in the crumbling Tetrarchy. In 313, he met Licinius in Milan to secure their alliance by the marriage of Licinius and Constantine's half-sister Constantia. During this meeting, the emperors agreed on the so-called Edict of Milan,[195] officially granting full tolerance to Christianity and all religions in the Empire.[196] The document had special benefits for Christians, legalizing their religion and granting them restoration for all property seized during Diocletian's persecution. It repudiates past methods of religious coercion and used only general terms to refer to the divine sphere—"Divinity" and "Supreme Divinity", summa divinitas.[197] The conference was cut short, however, when news reached Licinius that his rival Maximinus had crossed the Bosporus and invaded European territory. Licinius departed and eventually defeated Maximinus, gaining control over the entire eastern half of the Roman Empire. Relations between the two remaining emperors deteriorated, as Constantine suffered an assassination attempt at the hands of a character that Licinius wanted elevated to the rank of Caesar;[198] Licinius, for his part, had Constantine's statues in Emona destroyed.[199] In either 314 or 316 AD, the two Augusti fought against one another at the Battle of Cibalae, with Constantine being victorious. They clashed again at the Battle of Mardia in 317, and agreed to a settlement in which Constantine's sons Crispus and Constantine II, and Licinius' son Licinianus were made caesars.[200] After this arrangement, Constantine ruled the dioceses of Pannonia and Macedonia and took residence at Sirmium, whence he could wage war on the Goths and Sarmatians in 322, and on the Goths in 323, defeating and killing their leader Rausimod.[198]

In the year 320, Licinius allegedly reneged on the religious freedom promised by the Edict of Milan in 313 and began to oppress Christians anew,[201] generally without bloodshed, but resorting to confiscations and sacking of Christian office-holders.[202] Although this characterization of Licinius as anti-Christian is somewhat doubtful, the fact is that he seems to have been far less open in his support of Christianity than Constantine. Therefore, Licinius was prone to see the Church as a force more loyal to Constantine than to the Imperial system in general,[203] as the explanation offered by the Church historian Sozomen.[204]

This dubious arrangement eventually became a challenge to Constantine in the West, climaxing in the great civil war of 324. Licinius, aided by Goths mercenaries, represented the past and the ancient pagan faiths. Constantine and his Franks marched under the standard of the labarum, and both sides saw the battle in religious terms. Outnumbered, but fired by their zeal, Constantine's army emerged victorious in the Battle of Adrianople. Licinius fled across the Bosphorus and appointed Martinian, his magister officiorum, as nominal Augustus in the West, but Constantine next won the Battle of the Hellespont, and finally the Battle of Chrysopolis on 18 September 324.[205] Licinius and Martinian surrendered to Constantine at Nicomedia on the promise their lives would be spared: they were sent to live as private citizens in Thessalonica and Cappadocia respectively, but in 325 Constantine accused Licinius of plotting against him and had them both arrested and hanged; Licinius' son (the son of Constantine's half-sister) was killed in 326.[206] Thus Constantine became the sole emperor of the Roman Empire.[2

In 321, he legislated that the venerable Sunday should be a day of rest for all citizens.[224] In 323, he issued a decree banning Christians from participating in state sacrifices.[225] After the pagan gods had disappeared from his coinage, Christian symbols appeared as Constantine's attributes, the chi rho between his hands or on his labarum,[226] as well on the coin itself.[227]

The reign of Constantine established a precedent for the emperor to have great influence and authority in the early Christian councils, most notably the dispute over Arianism. Constantine disliked the risks to societal stability that religious disputes and controversies brought with them, preferring to establish an orthodoxy.[228] His influence over the Church councils was to enforce doctrine, root out heresy, and uphold ecclesiastical unity; the Church's role was to determine proper worship, doctrines, and dogma.[229]

Looks like establishing Christianity to me. BTW - I am not SDA.

Wikipedia is invalid as a source of history because it is often wrong as the primary historical quotes I gave demonstrates. My use of primary sources where posted in response to the Wikipedia false claims already made here. The main problem with Wikipedia anyone with an opinion can post on it. And, rarely are historians quoted in context.

With all due respect. And I say this is someone who tried this once.

The Law of Moses was for the Jews.

No where in the New Testament are Christians commanded to rest on the Sabbath. No where. We do, however, see a number of passages giving us liberty to *not* rest on the Sabbath. Which is significant.

If you try to observe one aspect of Mosaic Law, which while God given was meant only for the Jews, you must observe all. If Messiah fulfills the Law, He fulfils all of it. All of it. Not just one part, but all parts. The Sabbath, the dietary stuff, the family purity laws, the animal sacrifice stuff, the high holy day stuff, the rule about not wearing clothing of mixed fibers, the mold stuff, the skin disease stuff, the female conditions stuff, all of it. All of it.

Please understand. All of it. We are under Christ. Not Moses. That means that our righteous with God is through faith in the Son, and obeying the Son, and those He appointed as Apostles, and living for Him, in Him, and because of Him, by His grace. That's the Christian life.
Deuteronomy 5 New International Version (NIV)
The Ten Commandments
5 Moses summoned all Israel and said:

Hear, Israel, the decrees and laws I declare in your hearing today. Learn them and be sure to follow them. 2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us at Horeb. 3 It was not with our ancestors[a] that the Lord made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today. 4 The Lord spoke to you face to face out of the fire on the mountain. 5 (At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.) And he said:

6 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

7 “You shall have no other gods before me.

Exodus 20 New International Version (NIV)
The Ten Commandments
20 And God spoke all these words:

2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

Even among powerful fraternities, at the core of their rites is Latin.

It's not at all surprising that their founding fathers and those before them would eventually lead to the ancient Roman Empire.

The Bible gave plenty of warnings of the same evil (Roman Empire) returning to power. It seems they already did. For the most enduring empire in history, they'd be smart and devious enough to figure out how to stay in power for thousands of years more.

Sitting in plainview isn't the only means to lead and control an empire or even the world. When it comes to global supremacy, there are no rules. Everything rests in how skillful you are in the art of deceit.

That is just weird my Friend. signed, a Historian.

Really? Thou shalt not murder---for Jews only? Thou shalt not steal---for Jews only? Thou shalt not take the name of God in vain---for Jews only? All the commandments wee for Jews only? Without the law there is no sin. So only the Jews are guilty of sin?? Cain killing Abel was not a sin?--they weren't Jews. When Jesus set aside the 7thday sabbath at creation---there were no Jews yet.

Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath---He did not say the Sabbath was made for the Jew. The Israelites brought a huge mixed multitude with them---they wer5e to keep the laws of God also. And the Jews were never to have kept the salvation of man---the sanctuary process--0-to themselves. They were supposed to have taken it to the world---instead they became exclusive. Jesus had to restore the evangelistic side to His message. Salvation is of the Jews, Jesus said---He did not say salvation is only for the Jews!

God's 10 commandments were written on stone with the hand of God Himself and placed inside the ark. The ceremonial laws, dictated by God and written by Moses were kept beside the ark, not in it.
The ceremonial laws were done away with at the cross, for Jesus became the Sacrifice. The 10, the morsel law---were kept in the earthly ark which was a representation of the heavenly ark--and which still contain the original ones in the heavenly ark of the testament.

Rev_11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

They are forever---Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

All has not been fulfilled---He has not returned yet.

And BTW---I've not railed against the Catholic Church! And it is you that is not aware of what your own church has said about the Sabbath.

CEREMONIES AND THE CEREMONIAL LAW:
By: Kaufmann Kohler

"Symbolic rites and observances, expressive of certain thoughts or sentiments. As social life demands forms of etiquette (see Greetings), so every religous system has its peculiar ceremonies indicative of its own particular truths. The Biblical name for ceremonies appears to be "edut" ("testimonies," Deut. iv. 45; vi. 17, 20; see Naḥmanides on the last passage), in distinction to "mishpaṭim" ("judgments," "ordinances," Ex. xxi. 1, and elsewhere); while the term "ḥuḳḳim" ("statutes") is applied to both moral and ceremonial laws (Ex. xii. 14, 43; Lev. xviii. 4, and elsewhere). The Rabbis distinguish between mishpaṭim, moral laws—which are dictated by reason and common sense, such as laws concerning justice, incestuous marriages, and the like—and ḥuḳḳim, those divine statutes to which the "Yeẓer ha-Ra'" (the evil inclination) and the heathen object, such as the prohibition of pork or of wearing garments woven of wool and linen (Sifra, Aḥare Mot, xiii. on Lev. xviii. 5; Yoma 67b)."

Catechism For Jewish Children
By Isaac Leeser.
Appendix I
The Ceremonial Law
1. What is the Ceremonial Law?

The duties which the law of God as revealed through Moses demands of us, the Israelites, in particular, as the professors of its religion.

2. Upon what is this Law founded?

Upon the history of the Mosaic Religion, and of the people of Israel before and since the promulgation of the Ten Commandments from Sinai.

3. What is the object of the ceremonies?

The constant observance of the ceremonies is intended to remind us perpetually of the events upon which they are founded, and to cause their being handed over to our children after us, to the latest generations.

"Remember his miracles that He hath done, his wonders and the Judgments of his mouth. O ye seed of Israel, his servants; the children of Jacob, his chosen people. He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth. Remember ye his covenant for ever; the word which He commanded to a thousand generations. Which He covenanted with Abraham, and likewise his oath unto Isaac. And he confirmed the same to Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant." Ps. cv. 5-10.

4. Which are the principal events of which the Ceremonial Law is to remind us?

The following three:

First, The Exodus, or removal, of our forefathers from Egypt.
Second, The Divine Revelation, and the promulgation of the Law on Sinai.
Third, The destruction of the temple at Jerusalem, and of the kingdom of Israel.

5. What observances are to remind us of the Exodus?

First, The Sabbath day, regarded as the sign of the covenant of the manifestation of God's power in Egypt.

"And remember that thou were a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence, through a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day." Deut. v. 15.

Second, Several others of the festivals.

6. Which are these festivals?

First, The Passover, or the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Secondly, The Feast of Tabernacles.

7. What is the Passover?

The Moral Law
1. What does the moral law teach?

It teaches us our duty.

2. What is this duty?

We must do whatever God demands of us.

3. What obliges us to do this?

By the possession of the life given by God we are from motives of gratitude compelled to obey his wishes; and by the benefits which He daily and hourly bestows on us, we should be induced to show that we are not unworthy of his fatherly care; and lastly, as children of the covenant with the Lord, it is reasonable that we should repay his especial kindness by a more ardent display of activity in the fulfillment of our duties.

4. Towards whom have we duties to perform?

a. Towards God, through whose favour we live.
b. Towards our fellow-men, who, as well as ourselves, have received life and being from God.
c. Towards ourselves, both as regards our body and our soul.

5. Can you as a religious person do one part of these duties whilst you neglect the others?

No; because they are connected one with the other, and are all founded upon the bond which united us to the Lord our God.

6. What is this bond?

The love of God.

Foxes' Book of Martyrs is not a primary source, it is just polemics. Go to the primary sources only to be accepted as valid. www.newadvent.org has those sources.

This newadvent.org site looks very Catholic. With "Fathers" and beautification of saints. All the stuff I do not believe in. Are you Catholic? Just as you don't trust my sources, I don't trust any of yours. :)

I already answered that question---the bible is to be taken in it's entirety. Do you believe the OT has enough for us to know what to do and not do as Christians---as the first Christians did, like the Ethiopian eunuch? Why would anyone want to do away with any part of the bible?

You really have only tried to handle him by avoiding a direct answer.
Please, give him a direct answer.

Is God's grace sufficient for you?

Romans 6:14For sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Galatians 5:18But if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
