Video games are just one of many escapes from reality. No biggy.
And the human spirit without the companionship of the Holy Spirit as guide is certainly...incomplete.

I say....as long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, do whatever makes you happy. And try not to worry about what other people say or think.

It says far more about someone that they come running here to tell everyone how offended they've been by the random words of one man.
This is the real world we live in, and real life often offends, and nobody has a right not to be offended.

I suppose it depends on the time spent. It is a better way to 'drop out' than with drugs or alcohol. Does it serve a purpose for anyone else? What does it contribute to others? Does it interfere with physical participation with humanity? Is it creative or productive? Does it benefit intellectual self like losing oneself in a book for hours/days on end might?

He comes across to me as being rather puerile. From his comments, you would be forgiven for thinking that that there are those in nappies who have had more life experience than he has.

It's a matter of fruit that the pastor was probably alluding to. Some folks spend every waking moment, especially some younger folks, that they have no time for the Lord or his work because of simple video games. You can get hooked on that stuff and lose sight of the born again's mission while here on earth. I'd have to hear more of the context of what was said but it does sound like maybe the pastor could have toned down his approach ( he is from Texas, some of those guys have a harsh tough love approach). Still, I bet there is more to the message than setting out to hurt someone else's feelings if you listen past the insults.

As to video games, don't waste your entire free time on them and watch out what their subject matter is.

Did that fat Pastor call me a loser for playing video games?
