December 2, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — A new book inviting young children to learn how to summon demons is now available at major retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.

Written for 5- to 10-year-olds, A Children’s Book of Demons by Aaron Leighton directs kids to “conjure gentle demons by writing their sigils, which serve as ‘a phone number’ straight to the spirit.”

“As ridiculous as the ‘demons’ contained in the book may be, there is nothing innocent or fun about even pretending to summon evil spirits,” noted Elizabeth Johnston, AKA Activist Mommy, on her blog. “But who is to say it is pretend? The spirit world is real and is no laughing matter.”

This can work! It's one reason why those symbols and emblems should NEVER be brought into the home.

Satanists are having their day.
Agreed, but remember four things:
1. All of this was foreseen by God.
2. Even Jesus Christ was not exempt from this sort of temptation.
3. He passed through it successfully many times, for our sake.
4. We can do the same because He showed us how to do so.

And in the End, God triumphs over satan.

I realize that this book is probably not meant to be taken seriously but it is still evil. We should definitely not be teaching our kids things like this. This is how children end up interested in the Occult and such and then they end up having problems with the demonic realm. Some may actually end up needing an exorcism because books like this lead them to dabble in the Occult.

Agreed. But the author is not the only 'enabler" here. He must share the guilt with the publisher and all the bookstores who sell these books, and everyone who buys one.

At every step of the way along that pathway, there is always a choice to be made; to support and encourage evil, to look the other way and keep the profits, or to downplay the results of exposing stuff like this to children.

All it takes to stop things like this from spreading is for responsible people to say no.

Well, if parents don't teach their children to follow Christ and avoid things that are potentially harmful, you may rest assured that the world will teach them to abandon Christ and dabble in whatever is out there that's supposedly "cool".

The fact that the book is supposed to be silly is irrelevant. Ouija boards have been marketed for decades as nothing more than a foolish party game, and yet there are hundreds of cases where kids fooling around with them have actually managed to summon demonic entities, which have caused no end of problems for the children, their families, and for the clergy trying to get rid of them. Ignorance of the dangers involved does not remove the danger; it simply means that the victim will be more confused, surprised, and terrified than they would be had they known what they were actually doing.

There have been cases of people messing with Ouija boards, seances and such things while scoffing that the whole enterprise is ridiculous, because "there's no such thing as evil spirits", and then ending up in a blind panic when nasty, violent events start to happen to them which they have no explanation for. I guess all that can be said in the case of these books is that children are innocent, naïve creatures, and will naturally playact what they read in a storybook---and even though they may just be playacting, if that channel is opened and something on the other side of it decides to take advantage of it, the results will be decidedly detrimental.

My suspicion is that if this catches on, a lot of people out there will regret that they ever got involved with it. And simply shrugging and saying, "I told you so" won't help the situation any, either; they'll be coming to Christians desperately begging for help, and the Christians will have to get involved and try to clean the mess up----so it's going to be unpleasant and dangerous for us as well as for them.

The thing is, even if you teach your kids to follow Christ and avoid things like this, some children will still read about the Occult and dabble in it out of mere curiosity.

Regrettably true. You can plaster "DANGER: BRIDGE OUT AHEAD!" signs all over the highway, and there's still going to be those who motor on, blithely thinking "Pfah---what could possibly happen?" :(

I see these books as no different than the Ouija board. Those were all the rage in my childhood. People thought they were a harmless board game.
It’s not good to court that sort of stuff imo.

It's a systematic attempt to lure children into Satanism. And I don't buy for one minute that Satanism is really just a bunch of harmless atheists.

I have a book somewhere that contains documented cases of people fooling with Ouija boards and ending up with attachment spirits that played absolute hob with their lives, their families, and their sanity. People can roll their eyes and laugh all they want, but I wouldn't touch any of this trash with a 200-foot pole. The real-life case that formed the basis for The Exorcist was a young boy in the late 1940s who had been playing around with a Ouija board. This is not stuff to be taken lightly.
