The gospel causes false believers to live better lives. But if not born again, it doesn't save spiritually.
"better" but not for others, and not eternally, so not really better - it (a false gospel) is accursed and leads people to destruction, even if it "looks" nice!

What does one choose as a reason to repent...to accept Jesus?
If someone goes to a food bank and sits listening to a short message for 15 minutes before getting any food,
they might "accept" the message, or the speaker, or the ministry, or the building,
and the food,
and never repent.
They might 'accept' what is said about Jesus,
and still be His enemy.

What makes the elect any different from the other lost sheep?
One is and looks like a living, breathing, alive, human who has had a total life change.
The other one might look identical, outwardly, or might not.

There are many who are not saved who have once been enlightened....which many believe means have heard tthe gospel.

Who have tasted the heavenly gift....been blessed in one way or another by God who has blessed church.

Have shared in the Holy Spirit,....taking communion may be one of the things talked about here.

Have tasted the goodness of the word of God....received

What about the individual who lived in the middle of the jungle 500 years ago?
What about them?

All men = gentiles, not just Jews, to fulfill the promise to Abraham. Jesus told the Pharisees in John 10 he didn't die for them.

I would agree that Jesus did not die for those who would not believe and abide in Him. He has the authority to forgive whom He chooses. Those whom He acknowledges before The Father will be saved and those whom He denies before The Father will not be saved.

We are spiritually dead and cannot discern Christ in truth.
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:6 (KJV 1900)

God will not foresake those who will repent and abide to the end.

I’d be willing to bet if the term “the heavenly gift” were used in just about any other context you would agree that it refers to grace. Sure a blessing is a heavenly gift but the author of Hebrews mentions “THE heavenly gift”. He’s been enlightened, received the Holy Spirit, why wouldn’t he have received grace? A person has to repent and believe before he can receive the Holy Spirit. Surely there’s no probationary period before such a person receives grace. Calvinists can’t interpret this verse correctly because it refers to loss of salvation which crumbles their entire theology.

In the context of where that is found humans are being contrasted with other animals, so what does it mean to you?
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:27 (KJV 1900)

Jesus says the reason they did not believe is because he didn't die for them.

"perishing"
I think you missed the difference in the KJV translation, but not sure how you could miss this?

Garbage is garbage, and John Calvin testifies his own garbage the best to anyone with an ounce of discernment....

“We call predestination God’s eternal decree, by which he compacted with himself what he willed to become of each man. For all are not created in equal condition; rather, eternal life is fore-ordained for some, eternal damnation for others.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 21, Paragraph 5)

“…individuals are born, who are doomed from the womb to certain death, and are to glorify him by their destruction.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 23, Paragraph 6)

“…salvation is freely offered to some while others are barred from access to it.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 21, Paragraph 5)

“The very inequality of his grace proves that it is free.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 21, Paragraph 6)

“thieves and murderers, and other evildoers, are instruments of divine providence, being employed by the Lord himself to execute judgments which he has resolved to inflict.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 17, Paragraph 5)

Depends on the Judge.

Depends on the Judge.
Romans 3:22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.

Living a better life never saved anyone. I think perhaps you made a mistake in your quote earlier and are trying to reconcile it.

What about the lost who healed the sick, cast out demons, and did may marvelous works, whom Jesus will tell to depart from him, he never knew them?
