Church.
When I say Church I'm talking about a body of believers gathered together for fellowship in Christ.
Should believers go to Church?
(1 Corinthians 12:18, Hebrews 10:23-25, Romans 13:1).
Yes.
Believers must go to a Church of some kind.
Does that need to be in a 501(c)(3) governed, controlled, and operated Church building?
No. It doesn't.
(Acts of the Apostles 2:46, Acts of the Apostles 5:42, Acts of the Apostles 8:3, Philemon 1, Romans 16:5).
House Churches are Biblically valid.
Also, if you miss Church for some reason, this doesn't make you a terrible sinner.
It does mean you have an opportunity to go next time.
By the way, whatever Church you go to, you are still accountable for your own soul.
The Pastor, Apostle, Bishop, Elder, Prophet, Evangelist, or Teacher etc. cannot save you.
Only Jesus can save you, if you allow Him to.
So wherever you have fellowship, you (also) remain accountable for whatever doctrine or teaching you submit yourself under.
False Prophets and False Teachers do get judged and the people's blood who followed them will be on their hands (2 Peter 2:1-3, Ezekiel 33:1-20).
However, everyone is still accountable for their own decisions and especially if there were real Prophets and real Teachers showing them the right way to go and they didn't choose it.
One of the most important things to look for in a Church is a (real) loving atmosphere and loving people.
Where the Holy Spirit is present there is..
1. Relationship.
2. Forgiveness of sin.
3. Powerful worship.
4. Demonstration of the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit.
5. Freedom to speak in tongues.
6. Order in the service.
7. Room for a variety of the five-fold graces (expository preaching and teaching of Biblical doctrine).
Some of you are still trying to find the perfect Church but if all there is to choose from is 'imperfect Churches'..
Either start your own Church or do something to help make that 'imperfect Church' better.
Now some Churches are beyond help and have been given over to religious indoctrination and idolatry but you don't need to worry about them because they will only reap what they've sown. God is not mocked.
