Dear F.L., thanks to God that His angel had our paths intersect on the Universalist Forum so that I've been able by His grace to warble some antiphonal songs with yourself and the few other heretic saints here like Steve, Hillsage and Laz Short, Westozzie and Mkgal1.

I pray God, open the eyes of all those in darkness, so they might see the hills full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding them. Help us to always answer evil with good, to be longsuffering and forbear, to turn the other cheek and to strive to be perfect even as you, our mighty Father in heaven and saviour of all mankind, are perfect in all things. Amen.

My dear brother: The Lord has amazing paths in which our lives become awakened to dimensions in Him that breaks in various degrees of symphony and steps that bring us to Him.

There is only one way into the Tree of Life. That Royal Route is by way of flaming swords swirling in every direction, held by angelic beings who guard the Way. Entrance into the Tree will cost us everything we are. Nothing escapes the swirling swords!

I have been contemplating for a long season the glorious Lake of Fire (AKA the 2nd death). There is precisely one segment of Christians who are not "hurt" by the Lake. They are those remarkable saints who follow the Lamb in the withersoever and are called overcomers.

As my old life has contemplated these things, the Father spoke to me in the early hours and expressed why. The overcomer has been hurt over & over & over again. There is nothing left to hurt!

Out of His hurt, let us warble together.

Thank you brother for sharing the fruits of your reasonable service. Though we be slaughtered as lambs all day long...

A sweet rendition of an old favorite tune. Also thanks for the opportunity for me to turn the other cheek (albeit with some difficulty) at the unbiblical representation of the earth! Enough said lol.

Dear Shrewd: Our Father exceeds anything we can ask or think. With each step He leads us deeper and deeper into Himself. He is our goal, the reason we live and breathe. As my old life draws rapidly to a close I am beginning to think how much still evades my most limited faith and vision. He is the God of expansion, there is no ending, He is the beginning and the ending, the ages to come will demonstrate it. In fact, we do not have to wait for tomorrow, He is the God of today.

From eternity past God intended that the most vivid and profound demonstration of his glory would come in the form of His work of salvation on the cross of Christ.

- God then made man to punish him.

- He made him perfect and thus unlikely to ever need punishing, or, for that matter, a Savior.

- By a happy coincidence, and against all the odds, this perfect man sinned, thus allowing God to fulfill His purposes for both the man and Christ.

- When he sinned, God, who is suddenly confronted with the prospect of being able to fulfill all of His original plans, becomes furious.

What you have just read is not a joke. I wish that it were.

Rather, I have simply enumerated the points that comprise the Calvinist theological system, or, as I call it:

the Happy Coincidence model of sin and salvation.

It reflects what can only be described as an Alice-in-Wonderland reality, in -which the only sense is nonsense, and logic is the enemy. -Stephen Campana-

It’s funny, because most people think starlings are boringly common, even slightly annoying birds. They can be quite noisy, and tend to empty garden bird feeders quicker than shoppers on Black Friday, squabbling all the while. But a close look reveals their bodies, which seem so black against the sky, are made up of speckly rainbows. And they are smart on the ground, too: these birds can mimic car alarms, other birds, even mobile phones as they cheekily call to one another.

In a crowd, they are little hooligans. In their great winter clouds, they’re one of the wonders of the world.

Dear Linen: If you think the waves of starlings are beautiful, be patient as the waves of the broken and bruised of sin and despair of Adams race make their way Home to the Saviour of all mankind.

And not only are the children of Adam1 coming home, the whole broken creation is coming Home, the ta pante of the heavens, the earth & the underworld.

Coming home, coming home, never more to roam, open wide Your arms of love, Lord we're coming Home

“…Nothing can be lost that is not first owned. Just as a parent is compelled by civil law to be responsible for his family and his property, so the Creator --by His own divine law–in compelled to take care of the children He has created. And that means not only caring for the good children, but for the bad ones and lost ones as well. So the word lost came to be for Mrs. Smith (Hannah W. Smith), a term of greatest comfort. If a person is a “lost sinner” it only means that he is temporarily separated from the Good Shepherd who owns him. The Shepherd is bound by all duties of ownership to go after all those who are lost until they are found.” -Catherine Marshall-

Dear friends: the passage regarding the lost sheep our Master is illustrating in His words of zao Life is so very powerful.

The plain wording for destruction is apollumi.

Perhaps it would be interesting to behold what apollumi in "plain wording" means?

https://www.logosapostolic.org/greek...stroy-ruin.htm

"What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he apollumi one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is apollumi, until he find it?

"For as many as have sinned without law shall also apollumi without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law.."

"Do not labor for the meat which apollumi, but for that meat which endures to everlasting life..."

"But if your brother is grieved with your meat, now do you not walk charitably. Do not apollumi him with your meat, for whom Christ died.

"He who loves his life shall apollumi it; and he who hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal."

"He who finds his life shall lose it: and he who loses his life for My sake shall find it."

"This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right."

The Outcome Of Infinite Grace -Dr. Loyal Hurley-

What is contained in the following pages is the result of that study. If it should prove as satisfying to the reader as it has to F.L., we shall have a delightful time together, "rejoicing in hope of the glory of God."

"The last enemy to be destroyed is death!" This was the well-known verse that stopped me in the half-opened door that day and directed all my thinking into fresh channels. "What death?" I queried. "The first death, or the second death?" Is God able to destroy the first death, and not the second death?

“I see Jesus in every human being. I say to myself, this is hungry Jesus, I must feed him. This is sick Jesus. This one has leprosy or gangrene; I must wash him and tend to him. I serve because I love Jesus.” - Mother Teresa

Let's review the qualifications for everlasting life according to the Master of Reconciliation.

They are>>>>

1. I was in prison and you visited Me.

2. I was hungry and you gave Me to eat.

3. I was thirsty and you gave Me to drink.

4. I was sick and you visited Me.

5. I was a stranger and you received Me.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what’s coming to you in this kingdom. It’s been ready for you since the world’s foundation. And here’s why:

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit." -The Message-

Are you making a global application here or does this only apply to what we read in Matt. twenty-five?

It seems this is one of several "qualifications for everlasting life". But certainly helps to explain that SOME will be saved by works. Not to diminish salvation by faith APART from works. It also brings to mind this scripture below.

Jesus is the only way to the Father, but it seems this all works out somehow.

Romans 2:14-15
(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I should probably explain that I see the above scripture as referring to "God's law", which I differentiate from the law God gave to the Israelites alone through Moses. There are three laws discussed in this scripture below. Which shows that the Apostle Paul makes the same differentiation.
1 Corinthians 9:20-22
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.
Dear Steve: I love this passage of the only Scripture using the words "everlasting punishment" upon which fundagelicals continually point.
Jesus said, “I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever. I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen me in action, you don’t really believe me. Every person the Father gives me eventually comes running to me. And once that person is with me, I hold on and don’t let go. I came down from heaven not to follow my own whim but to accomplish the will of the One who sent me.
“This, in a nutshell, is that will: that everything handed over to me by the Father be completed—not a single detail missed—and at the wrap-up of time I have everything and everyone put together, upright and whole. This is what my Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time.” -The Message-
"The redemption of men from every tribe, tongue, people and race is far from being the whole story of Christ’s work of atonement as John understands it. For he hears the choirs of heaven joined by the voices of the whole creation in a final outburst of praise. This should not be dismissed as mere hyperbole. John knows only too well that there is much on earth and under the earth and in the sea which has no inclination to join in the worship of Christ, and that these hostile elements are represented even in heaven. But such is his confidence in the universality of Christ’s achievement that his vision cannot stop short of universal response. He agrees with Paul that God has already in the Cross reconciled the whole universe to himself (Col 1:20), and that to make His act of amnesty and reconciliation known to the world is the royal and priestly task of the church, the success of which is already anticipated in the heavenly Amen ". – George Bradford Caird, Senior Tutor of Mansfield College, Oxford
Rev. 5.13
F.W. Robertson Word Pictures of the N.T.=
Every created thing (pan ktisma).
Every creature in a still wider antiphonal circle beyond the circle of angels (from ktizw, for which see 1 Timothy 4:4 ; James 1:18 ), from all the four great fields of life (in heaven, upon the earth, under the earth as in verse James 3 , with on the sea epi th qalassh added).
No created thing is left out.
This universal chorus of praise to Christ from all created life reminds one of the profound mystical passage in Romans 8:20-22 concerning the sympathetic agony of creation (ktisi) in hope of freedom from the bondage of corruption.
If the trail of the serpent is on all creation, it will be ultimately thrown off.
Saying (legonta). Masculine (construction according to sense, personifying the created things) if genuine, though some MSS. have legonta (grammatical gender agreeing with panta) present active participle of legw, to say. And to the Lamb (kai twi arniwi). Dative case. Praise and worship are rendered to the Lamb precisely as to God on the throne.
Note separate articles here in the doxology as in Romans 4:11 and the addition of to krato (active power) in place of iscu (reserve of strength) in Romans 5:12 .
Wow. That's amazing.
Do you have any other gems from the Message Bible?
Is Eugene Peterson a Universalist? Seems so, in reading this.
Do you have any insights into the language on this one? At face value (compared to the NIV) there seems to have been some great liberties taken here. Not sure about the accuracy.
Dear Steve: The Message by author Eugene Peterson is not a dig into the koine Translation. What it is, in my estimation, is the Spirit of the word in expression.
I know not what this remarkable brother believed. I know there are those who will not reveal their stance on the Restitution of ta pante. I have personally known ministers who I never ever heard preach the Restitution of all only to discover they did believe the Greater Hope.
At any rate, I possess dozens of translations, I love them all and will continue to hold the Message in a special place of illumination.
