I love Christmas, I love Advent, looking forward to Christmas,A joyous time of year for most.
A world needing a Savior they can't quite see the beauty of.As it is with the rest, I continue and love to increase the celebration of that mark in history! Quite unlike many who are now choosing to filter-off the connection between holiday and the celebration. Even some of the old standards of published works of Home Decor periodicals insisting on removing the mention of Christ and all assoc imagery and replace it with the 'magical' season, day!
I love Christmas, I love Advent, looking forward to Christmas,
All the Christmas music, carols etc.
Christmas cards,
hunting for presents (On line, can't go out)
Playing carols for the old folk's carol service at the home.
Beautiful to listen to, Thank you,It always depresses and bothers me when my co-workers complain loudly about Christians carols over the intercom. People used to like Christmas, but now it seems like most get bugged by it. Signs of the times.
Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus. This world needs you. We need you.
Enjoy all that Christmas has to offer!Beautiful to listen to, Thank you,
There is a real blessed feeling around Christmas that the secular world cannot understand. We do, and the music is wonderful,
So true, I tend to ignore the secular stuff, and the music the world enjoys. I stay with Christian music. Advent is a wonderful time, the run up to Christmas is special. Here we say MERRY CHRISTMAS not Happy Holidays.. and Not Seasons Greetings. We celebrate CHRISTMAS OK so some may not celebrate it. I have even encountered some rather nasty Christians who do not celebrate it either. But WE DO
Now Advent is a special time because it allows us to focus on the spiritual and not the material aspects of the Holiday. Now do not get me wrong. I love the music the decorations the trees, the lights.....But the advent services, those allow me to refocus on the true meaning of Christmas.
I strive to get away from commercialism and materialism I have found that it does not make me happy. In my opinion, the Holiday is too commercialized. For my tastes at least. It is not about getting the best or the most stuff......it is about Peace and Love. That is the true Spirit of the season.
Christ with us!My perfect Christmas....
1. Plenty of snow. Not just a dusting, but a thick blanket that lasts for a few days.
2. Songs that put us in the mood for the festivities, but not played so early in the month that we get tired of them. During Christmas itself, traditional carols are preferred.
3. Christmas Eve involves putting the presents under the tree, phone calls to family and friends, supper and then off out to midnight Mass. Perhaps a minced pie or two.
4. Christmas Day involves celebrating the birth of Jesus by attending church, singing carols. A lunch of traditional roast turkey with the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding. It is best enjoyed with the family and even better when a stranger is invited.
5. A time which focuses less on the presents we get, but our presence as a family, as a community. For many people, the best present they will receive this Christmas is the friendship of another person, a warm home to reside in, the comfort of food and drink and stories shared.
