John14:15 If you love me, Keep my commandments.

Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. John 14:23

So do you really love him? Or do you just experience an emotional surge when you think about how much he loves you?

Didn't mean to be harsh, but that is the Standard God uses as to whether someone loves him or not. He does not see a heart bursting with Feeling when the Music is surging at church. He does know the difference between graditute and love. Little children just love Santa cause he gives them stuff. Sometimes Cristians who Claim they love God Sound very similar...they love cause God gave them gifts.

You obviously don't know me. I've been reading the Bible for forty years. Look ay my posts.

So do you question everyone's commitment to Christ?

If you don't mean to be harsh, then don't be.

He does not see a heart bursting with Feeling when the Music is surging at church.

He sees everyone's heart. Humans don't.

He does know the difference between graditute and love.

God is omniscient. He knows His sheep and His sheep know Him.

Little children just love Santa cause he gives them stuff.

Santa doesn't give children stuff and Christian parents shouldn't lie to them.

Sometimes Cristians who Claim they love God Sound very similar...they love cause God gave them gifts.

You aren't omniscient. Hypocrites might sound like Christians, but you can't see their hearts. If a Christian says he loves God do you try to judge him?

Philippians 2:3
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Romans 12:10
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

God made me a new creature. I was in darkness, now I walk in the Light because I love Him.

Love in Christ.

Is the body of death you refer to the one from Rom 7:24?
"O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?"
If so, Paul has already shown the deliverance from "it" in Romans 6:6-7...
"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin."

I have been freed from the flesh, with the affections and lusts, (Gal 5:24), at my baptism into Christ and into His death and burial, and was raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Rom 6:3-7)
You no longer have to do the "things you don't want to do".
To the glory of God!

I guess on paper is like that, but christians still have to deal with the flesh all their lives, or i don't know i didn't yet obtained a full victory like that, actually little victory over the tendency of doing what is bad, not that i act always on that tendency but is still there menacing.

If you don't mean to be harsh, then don't be.
I wasn’t. But you brag about loving God and I know people do this without thinking if God sees evidence of this. Can you say with equal assurance that you OBEY God.
He sees everyone's heart.
He does. He sees it is desperately wicked most often.
Humans don't.
Its actually pretty easy to see if one listens carefully. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
God is omniscient. He knows His sheep and His sheep know Him.
Many claim to.
You aren't omniscient. Hypocrites might sound like Christians, but you can't see their hearts. If a Christian says he loves God do you try to judge him?
By the fruit in their lives as Jesus says.
Philippians 2:3
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Boasting that you love God doesn’t match this. It’s more praising yourself. Besides, Jesus said if you love him, you obey him.
Romans 12:10
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Telling others the truth is loving them.
God made me a new creature. I was in darkness, now I walk in the Light because I love Him.

Love in Christ.
Well, I don’t feel loved at all despite your closing.

If you read the Bible for 40 years, who in the Bible said to people “I love God?”. Whatever you find, do likewise.

I wasn't bragging. Why do you assume a person is bragging? We can't love Him if we don't have His spirit.

Do you think anyone loves Him? Why does anyone love Him?

1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.

He does. He sees it is desperately wicked most often. Its actually pretty easy to see if one listens carefully. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Many claim to.
By the fruit in their lives as Jesus says.

We should choose our words wisely:

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Boasting that you love God doesn’t match this. It’s more praising yourself.

Why are you so harsh and judgmental? I didn't bring myself to Christ. The Father brought me to Christ.

Besides, Jesus said if you love him, you obey him.

I know. I love God's word. Do you believe me?

Telling others the truth is loving them.

I don't tell lies.

Well, I don’t feel loved at all despite your closing.

I'm very sorry. I had no intention of offending you.

If you read the Bible for 40 years, who in the Bible said to people “I love God?”.

1 John 4:19

Whatever you find, do likewise.

God bless.

Is that how you measure your love for God?
So do you question everyone's commitment to Christ?
I didn’t question your or anyone’s commitment to Christ? But those who boast of loving God ought to know that He measures how true this is by their obedience, not the surge of emotion during singing at church.

You were bragging about your devotion to God .
Do you think anyone loves Him? Why does anyone love Him?
Those who obey Him love Him according to Him.
1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.
Doesnt change the fact that we love Him only to the degree we obey Him according to Him. And that’s only how it starts. Later the reason is different if one matures beyond “we love Him cause He gives to us.”
We should choose our words wisely:

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Amen!!
Why are you so harsh and judgmental? I didn't bring myself to Christ. The Father brought me to Christ.
Your personal accusation is false. I give you Gods standard by which He judges WHO loves Him. Is that “harsh” to you?
I know. I love God's word. Do you believe me?
Absolutely. I can see that you do, no question and it warms my heart with love for you. (I mean it.)
I don't tell lies.
I didn’t think so. But christians today are taught that the surge of feeling that have is all that loving God is.
I'm very sorry. I had no intention of offending you.
I’m not offended. I just am uncomfortable with the cheap “we love God” when they mean “we love the feeling we get when we think of how he loves/saves us.” I have obeyed Him solely because I loved Him and it’s really different.
1 John 4:19
God bless.
He does, dear sister. And his blessings upon you and your faithful reading of His word.

My only desire is that you be careful in claiming you love Him to others. Do you tell others often and how much you love your loved one who are in the room? Wouldn’t that sound rather odd? “I love my husband” over and over to friends. It’s pretty much the same.

That sounds good.
Have you undertaken memorizing any chapters?
Start with something you most love. Maybe a Psalm or Proverb.
For me it is Romans 6.
Memorizing is both a good use of time and a way to strengthen your mind.
Grow in grace and knowledge.
also i got a question thats bothering me well 2 of them (1) my mum kept saying words that i didnt understand so i repeated it and my mum said its apparently a word meaning that you give your soul to the devil and i woke up a few mins ago and its playing in my head the bad word and i used to joke about sellng my soul but i actually dont want to do it. (2) is it true christians who game will go to hell as iv heard that christians believe that it will lead us to hell.

Then you will also have total victory over the fleshly oriented mind.

I suggest you search in google or something this and see if our flesh is 'killed' like that, that sounds nice but is not realistic:
"have christians have to deal with the flesh all their lives"

something like:
We all have a flesh and it does not magically vanish when a person becomes a believer. Jesus said, “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” The flesh is our old, carnal nature. It must be dealt with. Think of it as the weak-willed man within us. Our fallen nature has a side to it that has no character, no resolve, no backbone, and no self-control.

Not that i base my 'theology' on things i find on google but you can find information on it of course.

If you don't want to do it, then quit joking about it.
If you commit sin, any sin, you are already the devil's. (1 John 3:9-10)

I've never heard of such a thing, but if the game is full of sex, theft, murder, adultery, lies, covetousness, or any other lust of the flesh, you are already on that dark road.
It is written in the bible..."Abstain from all appearance of evil." (1 Thess 5:22)
How does your "game" appear?

I'm not talking about brushing your teeth and combing your hair, but the old man that is oriented to satisfying the lusts of the flesh.
He is gone and by God's gracious gift of rebirth a new creature has assumed it's place.
The "flesh" Jesus was talking about couldn't be killed till after His crucifixion and resurrection from the dead.
From that time on, we are baptized into Him AND into His death, burial, and are raised with Christ to walk in newness of life.
The weak willed old-way-of-life man has been replaced by a new creature with a divine nature.

Real faith is manifested by the actions of the "claimant".
I thank God for the gracious gifts He has made available, through Christ, so we can be, and act like, the new creatures Jesus died to produce.

If you believed in christ you are definetely a new creature, because the spirit of God comes to you and makes you alive for God and with the spirit of God, its a big difference between being spiritually dead and alive.

But maybe a lot of your fleshy desires get a 'beating' when you convert, but the old nature is still there menacing to make you do something wrong.

We have to deal with our old nature all of our life.
It is written..."Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Cor 5:17)
Your sources must be trying to insert "some" old things are passed away; behold, "some" things are made new.

I think nobody says that that is killed of completely at new birth...
What is the point of rebirth if nothing changes?
You are still the same old sinner...and Jesus suffered and died for nothing.

You mistake "old nature" with the temptations of the devil.
Those temptations are based on how you used to be and what things you used to indulge in.
But, thanks be to God, we are given the ability to "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

Yes you get to be alive with the spirit of God, your works of the flesh gets cleaned and killed maybe, but no, you receive a new nature and are a new creature, but the flesh will lurk there 'against the spirit and the spirit and against the flesh'

What do you think of this, i don't always agree with what this site says but i think this is ok:
Does a Christian have two natures? | GotQuestions.org

No, the devil works to make a mess of christians thankfully thanks to christ he shouldn't succed obviously, but the flesh is another enemy we should take in consideration, i actually think its worse than the devil.
