Not impressed. It's not his job.

The clergy seem to be looking for other things to work on, so they don't have to work on hard things like state of the family, or sexuality.

Depending on how it's done it would fit in with our concept of stewardship.

But David, brother. Don't you think we've passed on from genesis by now? We're clearly in the beginning of the great tribulation and as I see it we're mistakenly focusing on genesis.

It's not a trivial mistake, it's a crucial one. To focus on the beginning when we're at the end is best described as delusion.

All the signs are there for us to see. Everything fits so well with the book of revelation. Heaven and earth shall pass...
To try to refocus the church away from the salvation of souls to preservation of the earth is possibly a fatal mistake.

By reading our day and age into genesis makes us miss the signs. The end of times are approaching and it has absolutely nothing to do with global warming etc. Its rooted in the will of God.

We should leave such nonsense to unbelievers and preach Christ in the little time that's remaining.

11th Commandment?
Spare me. I've probably saved more tadpoles and spiders than you have dear Father. You want to be a good steward? Start by being a worthy steward in God's house. Repent of your idolatry. That's your job. Not being forest ranger. No more talk about ecology from priests for the next thousand yrs. I don't want to hear 'tree' mentioned, unless it's the one Jesus hung from. We're suppose to be in the business of fighting heresy and saving souls.

YES! What a brilliant post. God bless.
"Only mention the tree that Christ hang on" - marvelous!

Me thinks I'll be returning to the Baltimore Catechism.
We're not blind. This has nothing to do with sin, salvation and Jesus. It has everything to do with the new Globalist/ Enviromentalist agenda.
News flash: We're not going to get any closer to heaven by saving the rainforest. While there is a certain degree of room for stewardship of the earth in Catholic teaching ( since the whole of creation groans); We do well to remember that what is present will be burned away. And that we look forward to a new heavens and a new earth.
Ultimately, I just see this as another distraction by this pope and his posse.

I think the problem is we can't let the concept of stewardship of the Earth get in the way of protection of human beings in the Image of God. Which is something that will never fade away.

Just look at the bishops conference recently were some bishops tried to relegate abortion to one sin amid many. Seems like they need to reread St. Pope John Paul II Gospel of life.

I agree with you in theory. The problem lies with this new ecological movement (cult) that is sweeping America and Europe and assigning morality and thus virtue/sin to it. God never said in Scripture or the history of the Church, 'Thou shalt not cut down the rain forest'.

The Baltimore Catechism is priceless imo. Yes it was used to teach children but it cuts to the chase without the legalese. Any further investigation is up to the reader.

It's mainly what I use for the kids.
