What's on your mind?

What program do you use to draw? I'm thinking about getting back to drawing myself. Would be nice to easily be able to clearly share my artwork.

There are free programs available as well for drawing, that have a lot to offer, such as: Paint.net, GIMP 2.0 and Inkscape. You can even use the grease pencil in Blender 3D for basic artwork.

It seems very unusual to not see @LaBèlla in over a week around here. I hope she is okay, and did not feel inclined to leave us for any bad reason.

Yeah, I miss her too. She was a very interesting lady.

Time for a rant.

I play in my church's worship band, and we're having a carol service in December - no problem there. But I received the list of songs we'll be doing this morning and I have to wonder what the thinking is.

We are doing some traditional carols, but I don't recognise over half the songs. It seems like the decision has been to go with more recent songs, which I think is completely the wrong decision. Especially given the demographics of the congregation, where the majority are on the older side, and I suspect would much rather sing the well-known songs they're familiar with.

If I hadn't already committed myself to playing I would seriously consider not participating. And while I can't really go around telling people not to bother attending, I am going to tell my parents as I know they're not going to be very impressed by the choice of the songs.

I know that it can sometimes feel boring playing the same songs over and over again, but the role of a worship band is to serve the congregation by facilitating worship. There is a time and a place to introduce new songs, but Christmas is not that right time and place.

Why do houses not have fences on the east coast? Is it because they don’t have coyotes or something?

(I’m sure some do have fences - but most didn’t seem to have any in the areas of the east coast that I’ve visited.)

It’s the biggest “culture shock” I got when I first visited the east coast as a teenager, and it still confuses me.

If anyone knows please share your insights.

I live in the Midwest.. and most houses don't have fences.. no need. Can't say most people worry about wild animals wondering onto the yard.. lol.

Are there just no wild animals there to worry about?
We have coyotes here that like eating pets. If we didn’t have fences they’d be in our yard all the time.
