[MOVED] What happens when a non-NASA astronaut is asked about the shape of the earth?

I wonder how much he got paid?

Is this a recent interview/statement by Mirosław Hermaszewski.

If so, it will be interesting to see what becomes of this.

Do not know the language so really do not know, really what he is saying, so i will wait and see.

He contradicts photos, orbits, and other astronauts, IF he did even claim earth is flat.

After pondering this a little.
If this person was asked actually more than if the earth is flat. And stated that the earth is flat and stationary and they do not go to space because there is no space to go to, this would be more believable.

I could see this person continuing on (after saying the earth is flat) with something like yes the earth is a flat disk flying through outer space. which is just a lie also.

So, did he tell anyone what he saw on the other side? According to the report, the space vehicle was put into an orbital path circling the earth. Therefore, he got to see the flat of both sides...right?

Why wouldn't it be? If the earth is flat, then there is a 'bottom' side. It is a geometric truth that a flat object has two sides.

Several days after looking at the Earth a childish thought occurred to me - that we the cosmonauts are being deceived. If we are the first ones in space, then who was it who made the globe correctly? Then this thought was replaced by pride in the human capacity to see with our mind.

The confusion about the date could be because he was asked on Nov 23 of the Julian calendar. Then again, it could just be a typo.

It occurs to me that from 400 km or so, the Earth will look mostly flat. He could probably only see out of fairly small windows, and may well have been surprised how flat it looked. He would have had no way of knowing whether his motion was turning gradually toward the Earth to follow the sphere, or turning gradually to the side to follow the path of the equator on the disc.

Further, did he happen to mention at what lattitude the earth began to fold over? If the earth is flat, then there is an edge. At what point on the surface of the earth will we find that edge? Now, the edge may be very thick, but there will be a place that the surface of the earth will make a 90° (or a curve which completes a 90° turn) and then curves again 90° to connect the surface on the one side with the surface of the other side. That turn to create the edge may be razor sharp, or it may be a fairly gentle but abrupt change in direction of the surface to connect to the surface on the other side, but it has to be there. Did our learned cosmonaut happen to notice what lattitude this change occurred or maybe noted some nearby landmark like a city or continent where the earth surface began to plunge to the other side?

Yes, this is a real question seeking an honest reply. I studied geometry in school and there are certain truths regarding every geometric shape.

It would be interesting if this is true and that this polish astronaut actually did mean that he has decided to state the truth and that the earth is flat and stationary.

But for me i do not need this person to say something i know is true already, from the witness of the Bible, that states Gods true creation and has been for thousand of years.
Earth and water, raqia (inside raqia: sun, moon and stars), above raqia: water, above water: heaven, above heaven: heaven 3rd, above ?.

Hi d,

I did watch the video. However, I know that I know that there are certain evidences that any shape of the earth will show. If the earth is a reasonably rounded sphere, then no matter where you are in any orbital path over the earth, it will appear the same as far as shape. If the earth is a square box, then there will be places, as one orbits the earth where one will see a fold over of the surface and some reasonable corners where the four sides of the earth come together, much like a game die. The corners may not be particularly sharp as one sees looking on an actual box, but there will be some sort of rounded corners as the object fills out its cubed form. Similarly, if the earth is a flat surface, then there are one or two evidences that we should see to confirm that. We would absolutely not be able to take pictures of the earth from satellites that have literally covered every square mile of the the earth and they all have the same appearance of the form of the earth.

The earth is a sphere that is reasonably round like a ball. Pictures of the earth covering all locations of the earth would have differing appearances, if the earth were flat. It's honestly just that simple. The earth is a fixed size and so we are able to look at the earth from many, many different angles and from many, many different places in orbit about the earth. I'm sorry and if questioning some evidence that doesn't support what we actually can see with our eyes makes me a jerk, then yes, I'm a jerk.

I'm a believer who believes that truth is truth. That in all things we should seek for truth. Therefore, I ask the questions seeking for truth. Now, are there answers that someone is willing to provide or should this thread be moved over to the 'conspiracy theories' threads?

Speaking of non nasa astronauts, there is a lot of countries that went to space with or not with people etc, so flat earth believers would says they are all conspiring to hide the truth, you know north korea have rockets too? why they would be conspiring allied to enemies etc. i mean.
